Description of Work: Stripped, sanded and applied oil stain to deck. We have a large upper and lower deck that is wrapped around a 25 ft pool. The crew chief complained he was not given enough workers for this size project. I was shocked and upset our pool filter, heater, pump and skimmer cover were not covered during staining. They were covered in the oil stain over spray. I tried to remove what stain I could asap but a brown oil stain remained. I called the regional manager Steve Gonnering and he apologized and sent out 2 of the same guys to fix the problem. I also pointed out several missed areas that had no stain. They were not able to remove all the damage. I guess what is most upsetting is the workers had to know they were over spraying on expensive pool equipment and didn't care. I paid $5446. and expected a professional job. Leaves me wondering how well the stripping and sanding was done. |I received no follow-up from the manager and no discount.

Description of Work: Pro Woodcare stained our newly-installed cedar porch. The color is even and nicely applied, and they were very helpful in soothing my mother's fears that she was choosing the wrong color.

Description of Work: We had Pro WoodCare completely redo our deck 2 years ago and it was a mess! Mr. R. came out to look at it and said that because it was in such bad shape they could not guarantee the work. We felt Mr. R. was honest and went with it. The deck looked great and felt this was a great company. I wrote an all A review. We were told that we should have it redone in 2 years possibly. | |That brings us to this year. Mr. R. came out and suggested we have our deck pressure cleaning and re-stained. Since it was in much better shape and we had not worked with this company before I felt this would be an easy job to check off my list. Was I really wrong! | Day 1 was pressure cleaning. Two men were sent out. This meant one would sit on our lawn furniture smoking away, doing nothing while the other was pressure cleaning. He did this throughout the complete process. It seemed like he was laughing at us since he knew we saw him. I paid for two men working but got one. It was complete disrespect for our home and us. I called Mr. R. and he apologized. He said that it was against company policy and it would be dealt with. I said why was I paying for 2 if only 1 was working and his response was that I was getting charged for the size of the deck. My response I felt was reasonable, "Then why don't you only send 1 person out?" No answer from Mr. R. I explained very strongly that this man was not allowed on our property ever again. As the owner that is my right and he agreed and repeated it over again. | | Another team came on Friday around 4:00 to sand and stain. They ran into my husband and discussed the cons of doing it on that day. The rain could cause spots that would have to be refinished. Considering the odds of the rain and it was left up to us we chose to leave it alone until it was less likely to rain. Upon their recommendation we would get better results. | | On Monday a team came to sand and stain the deck and it was the first team with the man I said was not allowed to be on our property. This time he was sanding the deck with the cigarette in his mouth and the ashes falling on the deck. Again laughing in our faces. I called the office and spoke to the only person that I felt cared about the way we were being treated who was the Office Manager. I told her the situation which she was aware of and that this person is to be off my property. I was no longer at home. I also told her I was tired of hearing Mr. R's apologies and promises and no longer wanted to speak to him or have any contact with him. Their lack of professionalism and service to the customer was out of line and I would be speaking to the owner. I also spoke to our Police Department regarding the rights of property of owners. The police officer said that it was the company's responsibility to keep that man off my property yet they didn't. Perhaps they didn't' feel it was important even though it was stressed by their customer and recognized by police as the businesses' responsibility. | | I said we didn't want to see Mr. R. and who shows up when we get home the next day but Mr. R. I was really angry, but instead expressed myself again and he said that I should call the owner which is what I said I was going to do. I also found out from him that the team that came on Friday said that we outright turned them away from doing the deck which was in no way the truth. It just keeps on coming. Why would I not want that deck done? | If you want to know why the company performs as it does just try speaking to the owner. He was absolutely the most arrogant person I have spoken to in a consumer regarded industry. If you want to know all the excuses for the lack of professionalism, sloppy work, all the disrespect, poor customer service, not listening to what the customer wanted, smoking issue, and if damage is not done to property it shouldn't matter what they do he can provide the answers. He was combative when I began with "Hello" until I hung up because he would speak over me and wouldn't give me a chance. My intentions were to have amicable resolution. No such luck. Keep on look on Angie's List there are plenty of other great contractors. This is the first negative note I have ever written in all of my years as a member but I feel that buyer beware! Keep on looking don't be deceived. |

Description of Work: PRO WOODCARE FIRST PRESSURE WASH CLEANED THE DECK. THEN THEY BRIGHTENED THE WOOD WITH A DETERGENT TO BRING THE WOOD BACK TO AN AS-NEW COSMETIC CONDITION. FINALLY, THEY APPLIED A CEDAR-TONED PRESERVATIVE.

Description of Work: CLEANED AND TREATED WITH PRESERVATIVE OUR 13-YEAR-OLD CEDAR SHAKE ROOF. THE SHAKE SHINGLES HAD TURNED GRAY WITH AGE, AND THERE WERE SOME MOSSY GREEN AREAS. THERE WERE ALSO SOME SHINGLES NEEDING REPLACEMENT. A CREW CAME OUT ONE DAY AND PRESSURE CLEANED THE ROOF. THEY CAME BACK A FEW DAYS LATER, AFTER THE ROOF HAD DRIED, TO APPLY THE PRESERVATIVE. THE PRESSURE CLEANING RESTORED THE SHAKES TO THEIR ORIGINAL BROWN COLOR. THIS PRESERVATIVE TREATMENT, WHICH LIKELY HAS TO BE REAPPLIED EVERY FIVE YEARS OR SO, IS SUPPOSED TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF THE ROOF, PERHAPS DOUBLING THE LIFETIME. IF THIS PROVES TO BE TRUE, IT WILL HAVE BEEN A WORTHWHILE INVESTMENT.
