The service turned out good. They cleaned up well after themselves.

The service was excellent. He worked with us really well. He did not accept credit cards at the time but it was our only form of payment. He bought a credit card machine to ensure we would be his customers. He did excellent masonry work. His prices were also reasonable.

The process went fine. There were no major problems. They did a good job and we would hire him again.

Overall it went fairly well. I would have appreciated greater punctuality and responsiveness, but they seem to have done the job well enough and they cleaned up as well as I could have hoped.

Contacted to ask questions about thier proposal, with three calls to the office. I only got the d@#@$n answering machine and left two messages and just hung up on the next call. No return call for seven days (5 working days) so I gave the contract to another contracter.

The crew was prompt and courteous. Work was completed on schedule. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the crew.

Unfortunately, he was unable to clean the chimney because we need to replace the liner. The quote he gave me to replace the liner was astronomically high. We ended up having to pay about $100.00 just for him to come out and tell us this, no work was even performed. He was prompt for the appointment and responsive in getting me the quote.

I was very satisfied with the work that was done.

I didn’t use him but I thought he was knowledgeable and professional. I think the price is the sticking point for me.

We had water coming through the bricks of the chimney. The estimate given by them was much lower than another company. They were nice. They kept their appointment. We are still looking at other companies and the best options they would provide us. We will consider using this company again in the future.

Overall, the service went very well. I was very pleased with their work.

Dave arrived on schedule, went to perform the chimney weep and then informed me the firebox and smoke chamber were rusted through and would need to be replaced. He quoted me a figure I could not afford to spend. He advised me not to use my fireplace until the firebox and smoke chamber are replaced as they are currently a fire hazard.

They were professional and responsive, and the price was okay. I am very satisfied with them and would rate them highly.

They were very thorough and polite. Work was done promtly and the work site was completely cleaned at the end of each day. Workers seemed very knowledgeable. I would definitly recommend them.

After paying the balance on the invoice I noticed on the Angie's List website that this contractor gives a 10% discount on Angie's List members. I contacted the contractor and asked if I could receive the Angie's List discount (mentioning that I had indicated I was a member when I contacted them for the original estimate). I was told that "You did mention that you got our name off of Angie's List but you did not mention the coupon at the time of the estimate. The discount is a coupon special, not an automatic discount and the coupon needs to be mentioned at the time of the estimate. The discount is figured in at the time of the estimate, as it becomes part of the contract." Therefore they would not honor the discount.

Very responsive to email estimate request. Cost estimate for repair of exterior of chimney and new cap was reasonable - middle of the pack. Selected based upon price and reports on Angie's list. Arrived on schedule and work proceeded as planned until they discovered a problem with the flues. They had all been installed improperly when the house was built and did not meet code. Provided guidance and estimate on replacement of flues. Readily answered all questions. Took pictures of the flues and volunteered to testify if I decided to pursue lawsuit against contractor. Quality of work is excellent. Cleaned up thoroughly upon completion. Would highly recommend the crew that worked on our job.

I contacted Mr. Chimney to provide an estimate on repairing our chimney. I rushed home from work to meet the estimator at the agreed upon time. He called 15 minutes after the appointment time to let me know that he couldn't make the appointment. He did share with me that he stopped by the house earlier in the day and looked at the outside of the chimney. Obviously, he also need to inspect the inside, so he asked me to call the office to schedule another appointment, which I did. Again, I raced home from work to meet him and this time he didn't show up or call. I find this extremely disrespectful of my time. I called the office to let them know that I was no longer interested in their services. If they can't pay attention to detail enough to follow through on appointments, I have to question their thoroughness when actually completing the work. A very disappointing experience.

They were prompt and courteous. They came out during the winter to look at it a second time as we were still having a few problems with it. We have to wait until the weather is better to come back out again. At this point we don't know if it's a chimney problem or if it's a roof repair. However we would use them again and they did do a good job with the chimney sweep.

They were the only ones who caught that they needed to put in a larger liner in due to their calculations. They went through them and found that we needed a liner which was at least 1 inch in diameter bigger. They also had to knock out the old clay liner that was in there. I would recommend them.

Dave was great to work with. Received his proposal within 7 days after initial visit. Dave explained in detail the scope of the project and provided tips/advise for questions I should asked others submitting bids even if I decide not to go with his company. Although, Mr. Chimney's bid was higher than the other bids, I am happy with the results. It was money well spent!!

Dave the owner showed up and right out of the box made the comment "well this is an odd place for a fireplace" not a good start. He then proceeded to do the sweep which was done in a thorough manner. But from that point on he was clearly more interested in making a BIG sale by basically saying that the entire fireplace and chimney had to be rebuilt. My wife asked "Dave how much is that going to cost?" His answer was "$5000.00" ( which actually was $1000.00 less then the written estimate he sent a week later). We are talking a 10 foot chimney here not a 2 story house. And to top it all off a week later our chimney top blew off after Dave failed to secure it properly. If you are looking to have your chimney swept go to a sweep and not a chimney rebuilder.

Dave Schmidt and his assistant were early and they waited for me to arrive. Both were very knowlegeable and professional. A thorough cleaning was done, and all of my questions were answered. I plan on calling them annually, so yes I definitely recommend them.

Dave did a great job and his bid came in at half the price of another company. They had to work with bad weather conditions, but did all they could to get done as fast as possible. They were a very nice team. We would highly recommend them.

Dave was waiting for me when I got home. He was very polite and kept the house clean. He advised me of some maintenance work that needed to be completed and I'm waiting for a proposal for this.

Dave was very proffesional and did an excellent job. They were very prompt at diagnosing the problem and providing an estimate. He was a pleasure to deal with. So far NO leaks !!!!
