Tammy and Dawn were both great to work with. They spent a fair amount of time helping us to choose a vanity top that would bring together our tile and cabinets. Their crew lazer measured for an exact fit and were neat and clean with the install. I have referred them to clients of mine who were also happy with their service.

My experience with them went very well. The downside was that they were not always very good if we were not local. We don't get the sense that they are trying to get a sale and they weren't really personable. But as far as doing what they were supposed to do, we can't beat their prices and their quality was good. There was one little issues where someone had cut something incorrectly and they immediately remedied it. There was no argument about it. They just took care of it and it was done.
Description of Work: I purchased granite from Crafted Counter Tops LLC and they installed it for me.

We first contacted this company merely from an internet search for companies that install granite counter tops. The key was as had already purchased our granite. So after finding a very few companies with in a reasonable distance we contacted this and one other company. Both companies offered to come and provide a free estimate for the work to be done. This company was not going to charge to come back out to pick up the granite from our garage, after coming out to quote the work first. The other company would have charged us to come back and pick up the granite and would have charged more for the work to be done. I understand most companies prefer to sell you the granite and install it for you as well. This allows for the obvious mark up on labor and product. Crafted countertops was not at all worried about their loss of mark up in product. The initial work was done well and professionally. The company came out picked up, fabricated the countertops to fit and installed. The second round of work was done with a second bathroom countertop being done. In the interim of the first and second work being done Crafted countertops kept possession of the granite that was left over from the first install. On the day that their rep returned to take measurements for the second bathroom. My wife happened to say to their rep before he left to please make sure and not damage the granite was left. The same day the warehouse personnel were cleaning and our granite was blown over and shattered. I received a call that same day explaining what had happened, our granite was replaced with a thicker slab with no extra charge for what would have cost more money if we had purchased the same piece from them. So all in all the work was done well and professionally and honestly. Would recommend this company to anyone and will be using them in the future if the need arises.
Description of Work: Pick up and fabrication of granite counter tops to fit to length. Initial work was for kitchen and master bathroom. Followed with a second bathroom counter top at a later date.

signed a contract with crafted counter tops for a 5600.00 granite job. I paid a 2,000.00 deposit. Two days prior to the scheduled installation I received a revised contract from Shelly Baker. The new contract demanded the 5,600.00 cash payment and no mention of my 2,000.00 deposit. Even though I have a personal email note from Shelly stating that the new contract doesn't reflect my 2,000.00 deposit. The new email Shelly explains how Ron the owner will be in my neighborhood and can come by to pick up the cash or I would have the option of doing a wire transfer directly into their bank acct. I called Shelly and naturally told her that the new contract and terms are unacceptable and that they needed to refund my money. Ron the owner refused to answer my calls. Finally after several attempts to contact him Shelly transfered me to him. He stated that he never signed the contract with me and therefore he didn't own me my refund. ( I know it's unbeliivable that he thought he could convince me of that) I attempted to explain to him he needed to refund my money or I would file a law suit against him and his company. I gave him until today Sept 14, 2012 to receive my check from him. I didn't think he would mail it and he hasn't. Unfortunately I plan on filing a lawsuit against him next Monday. Please under no circumstances do business with these individuals. The are nothing other than thieves.

Response from Crafted Counter Tops LLC
Crafted Countertops was contacted by the member due to a referral by a long time business acquaintance of Crafted Countertops. In response to the initial contact we sent an estimate to the contractor (Not the member) for the countertops to be measured, fabricated and installed based on a rough drawing and a granite color chosen by the member. The contractor gave the estimate directly to the member. The member called Crafted Countertops within ten days of the estimate being sent to the contractor complaining that the distributor where she had preselected material previous to contacting Crafted Countertops had released and sold her slabs. Crafted Countertops then gave the member the name and phone number for another distributor that carried the same material at a better price and suggested that the member visit said distributor to select slabs and have them held. The member claimed that she had no time to go view the material. In order to help accommodate the member, Crafted Countertops called the suggested distributor, requested photos of the material, and forwarded the photos to the member for approval. Upon approval by the member, the slabs were held in her name by Crafted Countertops. The estimate was revised at a less expensive price due to the change of distributors at the suggestion of Crafted Countertops. Again the contractor passed the estimate along to the member. Crafted Countertops was contacted by the member to find out what the next steps were in order to secure the selected material. It was clearly explained that the contractor would have to sign the estimate and return it with a deposit for 50% down on the total amount of the contract. The member sent in the estimate that was made out to the contractor with her signature and a deposit that was not equivalent to the required amount for the deposit. Due to the persistent calls from the member and the long time business relationship with the contractor, Crafted Countertops broke our rules again to accommodate the member’s request and ordered the material in to our shop to ensure that the member would have what she wanted. Crafted Countertops was contacted by the member this time to schedule a measure date. Crafted Countertops inquired about all of the cabinets being installed and all of the other required items being on site and ready for measure. The member assured us she was completely ready. We scheduled the measure date on the day requested by the member. On the scheduled measure date, the measure person from Crafted Countertops called the member’s phone as per her request and she did not answer. The measure person proceeded to the member’s home. Once on site the measure person tried calling several times and knocking on the front door. The member never answered the phone or the door. Crafted Countertops employee left. Within twenty minutes of the time that the measure person left the member’s home, she called Crafted Countertops and told us she was at the house, looked out the window and wanted to know if that had been our measure person on her porch a short time ago. It was told to her that our employee was wearing a shirt with the Crafted Countertops logo and driving a car that was clearly marked Crafted Countertops. Not to mention it was on the scheduled date that she had requested and also there were many calls made previous to his arrival with messages left. The member stated that she was not going to answer the door for a strange man. At this point she requested that we turn him around and send him back to her home. Crafted Countertops explained that it was not possible to do that and a new date would have to be scheduled. The member scheduled a date for the following week. Crafted Countertops was allowed in on that date to measure. While at the member’s home it was requested by her to measure for additional countertops in the bathrooms. With the final dimensions and the additional countertops added to the estimate, Crafted Countertops again sent it to the contractor for a final signature in order to proceed any further with the job. During the interim it came to the attention of Crafted Countertops that the member had stopped payment on a check to the contractor along with several other subs in the recent past. As to protect our best interests, Crafted Countertops revised the contract to go direct with the member and sent that along with a request for the balance due to our company before proceeding any further with the member’s project. At this point the member refused to sign the final contract or send any additional money. Crafted Countertops explained that we could not go any further with the member’s job without the required contract and money. Crafted Countertops gave the member the option of us returning her material and once we were credited in full for that, we would return the partial deposit that had been sent by her earlier on. When this option did not please the member she proceeded to begin calling Crafted Countertops office numerous times throughout the day, several days in a row. When answered by an employee, the member would yell and be belligerent. The calls continued to get more frequent and the context of the messages that were left when the phone was not answered became so bad that Crafted Countertops enlisted the assistance of the police. A report was filed and the member was contacted by the police in an attempt to prevent the continuous interruption at our place of business. Crafted Countertops returned the material to the distributor and upon receipt of credit, a check was issued to the member for the full amount due to her. At the end of the day, this has been an experience that we do not wish upon any of our fellow sub contractors or business associates.

We were extremely pleased with the crafted countertops. As soon as the cabinets were installed, the associate came over and made his final measurements. Within a week, we had our countertops installed and they look lovely! The blunt edge gives them a fully-finished look, and having the breakfast nook created with the granite countertop installed on the half-wall that we had between the dining room and the kitchen opens up the area and makes the space wonderful for entertaining.
Description of Work: We utilized Crafted Counter Tops, Genoa City, on the suggestion of our kitchen designer, Wisconsin Cabinets. We were doing a complete remodeling of the kitchen, as it was from 1968 and required extensive updating. The granite slabs were selected by us from Midwest Tile. Crafted Counter Tops has a small display area, but it contains enough to select the edge cuts, check out the faucets, and see the style of sinks they have available (or you could get your own undermount sink elsewhere). However, the Eclipse Diablo sink and faucets which we purchased from them were of much higher quality overall than those available in local big box stores. They were also 16 gauge stainless steel as opposed to 18 gauge at the stores. The sold us a wonderful sink and faucets for not only our tap water, but also a special faucet which is connected to our reverse osmosis filtration system. In addition, we purchased the racks that protect the bottom of the sinks.
