Will never call South Shore again. They put in our furnace and our air conditioner within two years, and the furnace wasn’t working properly. The technician came out for 20 minutes tops, told us he "cleaned some junk out of the fan", got charged for $79 ‘diagnostics’ and $79 a ‘tune-up’. There is a list of items to check for a ‘tune-up’, he did this all within the 20 minutes between his ‘diagnostics’ as well? Right.... will no longer be a customer. What a joke. Did not even come upstairs to state what he was doing, just completed the work and told us, hey, this is what you owe now. When I spoke with the company about this situation I received very poor customer service as well.

Sorry to hear you were unhappy with our service. Maintenance is only $79 when scheduled, we are currently 1 month out on maintenance. When we have to come out for a service call, the service trip is charged and maintenance is charged if it is done. I have time stamps on his ticket that he was there for 45 minutes and he said he discussed his findings and what needed to be done. Maintenance is needed on furnaces and air conditioners every year to keep running properly. Best of luck with your future heating company.

Great company! We contacted them on a Monday evening and they were at my house by 2 pm the following afternoon, we really appreciated the quick response. The technicians sent to our home were very professional and took care to not damage our property when removing our old water heater, as well as when they installed the replacement. The cost of the job was reasonable and completely fair.

They got here as scheduled, called in advance when in route as requested. Maintenance was performed and, as always, all my questions I had regarding the system were answered and then some. They are always friendly and attentive.

After calling 7 other HVAC places and being told the soonest we could be seen was in two weeks, South Shore came out that day. Sadly our Boiler couldn't be fixed (it was over 30 years old and leaking Carbon Monoxide). They were able to replace it that same day though and stayed until 9pm that night to make sure we would have heat for the cold snap. All the while they answered our questions in easy to understand language. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Extremely responsive.

I don't know anything they could have improved on. They seemed to be competent. The furnace is in a crawlspace so I could not go in there so I have not been able to check it out visually but it seems to be working fine. I am satisfied so far. I thought the price was fair. I had used them before and they were recommended on Angies List. They recommended a high quality furnace and I did some research into that and it seemed fair.

They were super flexible with me. Kind of a long story but they were flexible where they didn't have too be. Also on top of that they have a buck of really good advice on how to balance my heating and spent time explaining it. I felt valued and would use them again.

Charged to much for parts. Parts that are $20 costed $125.00. Did not even clean unit for $325.00. For that much money service man should have been able to remove screws to clean outside evaporator coil or use a brush, part of the systems operation. Will submit pictures of coils, later. Looked up parts per owners manual and found them on line for approximately $20. The system did not even need any Freon.
Description of Work: Called for diagnostic service on A/C. Was not operating properly. Told operator, could the $59.00 service on Angies list apply to service call. Reply was yes, made appointment. I was at work, wife was at home for service. See attachment of ad.

Description of Work: They got here earlier than the start of the originally planned window, which was great. No waiting! They performed the maintenance on the heater, cleaned the components, replaced a dirty vent filter, that also had fallen out, adjusting it so it wouldn't fall out so easily. Put better insulation on a pipe that wasn't properly covered. Gave me extra information on the heater and answered all my questions. The A/C was found to be leaking refrigerant, seeing as the unit appears to be the original unit from 2005, it also was using the older type, so I decided to allow them to install a new unit, which is scheduled to be done in two weeks from now. At that time he will also be doing some additional checks and items which he is including in the same install price. Plus, since he couldn't perform the maintenance on this unit, he is taking the maintenance cost off the cost of the new unit install. The technician was friendly, helpful and informative. I was very pleased with our initial encounter.

It went well. I was not there, but my father - in - law was. They left information for me about things they found and what they recommended. They were on time, did what they said they were going to do, and were timely with their work. I am happy with the end result.

These guys are amazing. No matter what you need or when you need it, they are there. I have a 90+ year old home with a pretty darn old furnace/boiler. I was having trouble over and over with the boiler not turning on. Tim replaced and cleand up my boiler and everything worked for a while. Then it went out again. I know I need a new one but I told Tim I could not afford it. He was able to get this old monster thing up and running and did not charge me for the service portion of the last visit even though the failure was the boiler not him. Fantastic team. I have used them several times over the last 10 years and I would never go anywhere else. Very trustworthy and professional.

On the way in, Juan noticed that an electrical box needed to be removed to make way for the air duct.Throughout the day professiional and personal energy was in command. On the way out, Tim noticed that the exhaust pipe from the on demand hot water heater was not to speck. Five minutes later, a small and important change was finished.
Description of Work: South Shore Heating A/C & Hydronic LLC installed second story forced air duct and vent in my upstairs bedroom. Tim and his men also retrofitted the room's existing air duct and vent into an return, which was not built into our house, in 1936. Tim also flushed out our air conditioner turbine with a cleaning solution. Lots of dirt flowed out-to our surporise. Juan and Javier are excellent, professional HVAC workers. South Shore also installed a 250 cfm booster fan in the feed line to ensure that especially air conditioned air cycles through the previously hot and stuffy room.
