Tim's Home Improvement Inc

I got several estimates. Some were higher and lower than Tim's, but I liked him and accepted his $10,800 bid. He did not do the work himself. The workers he supplied were pleasant and appeared to know what they were doing, but they usually started somewhere between 10 and 11a. In the weeks that followed until completion, I saw Tim only twice; he sent someone else to pick up the check for final payment. My dissatisfaction was known. All in all, the final price was close to $14,000. Turns out Tyvek paper (he used another brand) was extra --$600.00. There were other "extras" along the way, hence the final price. (The people installing new windows for us noted we had hired Tim and "wished" we had asked for their recommendation -- it would have been negative.) Our garage windows were removed and their former space covered; they were to return to put them in -- at an extra cost! The spaces are still covered and I will have to hire someone else to put the windows back in. I filed a complaint with the BBB. In the complaint I noted that there was no language in the estimate suggesting all the overages we suffered like, for example, Tyvek paper. In his response, Tim said he "had never used bad language in front of me." Isn't that telling of something? I do not recommend Tim's Home Improvement for Angie's List. He does not have the kind of integrity that Angie's List represents.
