They were terrific. They were very clear on my options and explained all of them in detail. Bill, one of the owners, even came over to walk through what we would need. They kept our air conditioner operative until they could do the new install. The install crew could not have been better and the job was performed beautifully. We are very happy with their product, their service and their guarantees. I would highly recommend Consolidated for any of your HVAC needs.
Description of Work: We have had Consolidated as our HVAC provider for the 16 years we have owned the house. Recently, our 30+ year air conditioner died. They were there within 3 hours on a hot day to diagnose the problem. Because our furnace was almost 30 years old as well, we decided to replace the entire HVAC system.

It went very well. They came the same day they were called and replaced the leaking furnace the next day. (I have radiators). They were professional and did a nice job. I have uses consolidated for years and they have always been very professional and have done good work. I will continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced my old 34 year old furnace. Repaired 2 radiator valves.

We've used them for awhile. It's usually one guy who comes out to do the service and it takes maybe an hour or so.

I had a coupon that said if I had done it before like the end of August it would have been ten dollars off and of course I hadn't found the coupon til October. They did everything that they said that they would do and it was efficient, gave me some other pointers of things that I needed to do and some suggestions so I would say very good. He was very helpful, he answered all of my questions and I sat and asked him lots of questions because I have never been responsible for this before some of things I thought I needed to do he told me was unnecessary that my filters did not need changing again and that it was perfectly clean cause I have a special type of air cleaner on the furnace, he check and make sure everything was in right, cleaned out the hoses and told me if I wanted and I told him I didn't like the hose cause it was dark and it wasn't nice looking and he told me where I could go and buy new hoses if I wanted to put it on and showed me how to do it.
Description of Work: I used Consolidated Air Conditioning & Heating for heating and A/C service. Regular tune up on the furnace.

I obtained three bids on a new furnace, all from Angie's List companies. Consolidated had been doing the maintenance on my old furnace for the past 10 years and we have been happy with the work and people. Their bid was the lowest, plus they promised us next day installation. That was important to us because though it was Spring, the temperatures at night were still getting cold. The two other bidders were at least a week out, and "maybe more". They started the morning after we accepted the bid and everything was working and warm when they finished in the afternoon of the same day. Replacing a furnace may sound trivial, but they had to move the electrical lines, gas pipes, PVC air intake and exhaust pipes, and then mate to the old sheet metal. Everyone I came into contact with during the process was both professional and pleasant. I have no reservations with recommending this company or it's people.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced a failing 26 year old Carrier forced air furnace with a new Carrier. Sheet metal work was also required as the new furnace is much smaller physically, even though the BTU ratings are the same. They also had to redo the electrical wiring to provide a dedicated "furnace only" circuit breaker per current building codes and obtain building permits.

The service was excellent. The workers are very good. They are very prompt and they respond very quickly. I think what stands out the most about them is the fact that they are very prompt. They are very prompt. You call them and you would get them within a couple of days for routine service. If you have an emergency which I have had in the past, they come right out.
Description of Work: I use Consolidated Air Conditioning & Heating. I have used them for several years now. They come and check the furnace. The last time they came out was for a routine furnace check and cleaning to get it ready for the heating season.

First day they said Brian would be at our house between 8 and noon. My husband took one of his precious half days off to wait for him. No phone call, he showed up at 3:30. Husband had to take whole day off. I have four heating zones in my house because we have a boiler. One zone was not working. Brian spent 45 mins and quot;fixingand quot; a loose wire and left. At 7:00PM house was still at 58 degrees so obviously the and quot;loose wireand quot; was not fixed. The next morning, TWO zones were not working. I called at 6:00 AM and left a message for someone to call my mother (because we had no more days off of work) and she would meet someone at the house at any time that day to get now two zones fixed. ALL DAY, NO CALL! I called when I got home from work at 4:00 and they said, and quot;Oh we'll send someone out right awayand quot;. Did anyone tell me this was now going to be an OVERTIME charge? And why OVERTIME charged to me???!! TWO bills just arrived in the mail - one for $103 for the first inept worker which actually worsened my situation, and the other for $751.51 for the 2nd and quot;overtimeand quot; visit. The labor was $686.50. And today, I have another zone out! I am NOT calling them back for service even though they probably broke another zone. $850 bucks later and my heat is still not in complete working order. Ridiculous. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!! I will be calling the manager Susan on Monday to see if she can help with this bill. I will post an update if there is some resolution to this problem. However, I see other people have had collection agencies after them by complaining about this company, so I'm worried about even contesting this.

Joe came out today for a fall maintenance on the furnace. In addition, last year our built in humidifier stopped drawing water so he cleaned the line of sediment and fixed that problem as well. Joe was personable and explained what he did and recommended a maintenance schedule for both heating and AC.

I took Steve - the owner for his word. We had a transaction, and part of that transaction included an evaluation of my air conditioning system come March. We shook hands on this and his anticipated 'new owner' witnessed. He took the item I sold to him and I trusted he would make good on his word. March came and went - no follow up. April came and went = no follow up. I called Steve on his personal line 3 times - 3 consecutive days. Finally I called Susan, the office manager - she told me they would not ck air conditioners until the temps reached 70 degrees. She promised a follow up phone call. No phone call. Today is June 3rd - we have reached higher temps repeatedly already. Again, I called them - she recalled the conversation and the best she can do is June 17th. Really? I am nearby and now I need to wait 2 more weeks. I was hoping to find a neighborhood source for my heating and air conditioning needs who was reliable and trustworthy. I was more than accomodating with my end of the bargain - I would apprecaite the same in return. As of today - this is not going well and they have been given every opportunity to make it right, I would not recommend this service or encourage anyone do business with them. I will post an update - after June 17th. Debra

When I asked for consideration on the repair, I was assured that someone in the organization would call me. Two months went by, no call. The next thing I knew, the account was referred to a collection agency, when I got repeated calls. I have now paid the charges in full on 2/6/13, with the only consideration being a $12 part. The business cashed the check, yet I have just received another letter from the collection agency dated 2/13/13.

They were particularly helpful in getting the part replaced under warranty, as well as figuring out whether or not it was better to repair or replace, and the total price came in under their initial quote. And it all happened pretty quickly in terms of going through the steps. 3 visits, in all, in four days, with the final being being the actual repair.

We turned our heat on for the season. Several hours later, at 2AM, the furnace was making a rat-a-tat sound that was frankly scary. We called Consolidated in the morning (a Saturday). Our furnace was under a warranty from when they installed it in 2007. Brian called us back from their answering service and he let us know when we could expect him. We were so grateful to have it looked at right away. Brian found the noise within about 20 seconds and diagnosed the part that needed replacement. The part was covered under the warranty. He was in and out in 45 minutes or so. Brian was personable, professional, and also gave us some information about scheduling fall maintenance. We will call Consolidated to do this.

The guy that came out was very knowledgable about what he was doing. He was very clean and even cleaned out the entire furnace. He called in an electrical specialist to check the electrical wires of the furnace to try and figure out the problem. When he found out that it was our blower, he immediately went to work. The worker was very punctual. I've never had a problem with the company. They showed up to fix my furnace when the heat had been out less than 48 hours. I'd recommend them to anyone and use them again in the future.
