Tim Bast is one of the best contractors we have ever worked with. His work is impeccable and honest, his prices are fair and everything was done on time. When he saw something that needed to be done that was not included in the original estimate, he gave us a range of options that would work for us. The house looks beautiful and we will definitely call him again in the future.

Tim and his team were excellent. He took the time to listen to what my vision was and then offered suggestions to make what I was planning even better. Tim was very conscientious on making sure that the correct amount of paint was purchased to minimize costs while having enough to cover all the walls that I wanted painted. His team arrived on time, finished on time, and answered any questions I had. Tim is very easy person to work with. I'm very happy with the service Tim and his team provided.

Tim helped me with picking paint colors and even came up with an idea of how to prevent my dog from scratching on my walls by covering the areas she scratches with clear plastic. He came to do prep work a few days before he could actually begin the main job. Tim and his helper Tim were great to work with. They arrived in the morning right on time and worked throughout the day, pretty much without a break. They moved the larger pieces of furniture for me and took down the wall hangings and rehung them at the end of the project. They completed the job in two days. I had some doubts they would be able to meet that time line because of all the trim that they painted a different color from the walls, so I was very happy to see they got it all done in that time. The rooms look absolutely beautiful. It is always difficult to picture how the colors will look from just a small paint sample, but Tim pointed me to just the right colors! I would definitely hire him again for future painting needs.

Tim and his helper (also named Tim) were able to complete all of the work in 2 days. They were very professional and efficient. They were also a pleasure to have in my home....very personable and considerate of me. I especially liked that they left everything neat and clean when the work was completed.

I had received several quotes on the painting and Bast Painting came in quite a bit cheaper than the other two vendors. They gave me plenty of options and overall I have been pleased with their work and will use them again.

Searching for an interior painter on Angie's list, I selected Bast Painting & Services because of the many positive reviews put there by others. I contacted Bast Painting to arrange for an estimate, and Tim Bast arrived at the agreed upon time. He brought along the suggested paint and color that we had discussed via email and put dabs on the wall to see how the different lighting would affect the look of the paint color and to be sure that was what I wanted. Very, very good idea as it turned out. There were more than a few repairs that needed to be done to the walls and windowsills prior to painting, and Tim assured me that they would be taken care of and would present no problem. I was pleased with Tim's knowledge, demeanor and suggestions so we contracted for a future date. The night before Tim was scheduled to arrive to paint the bedroom, I called him and said I "really" wasn't too enthused about the color. Very calmly and unperturbed, he said this was not a problem; and he would bring a few more choices for me to look at. Not only did he do this, but he mixed a shade that I liked so much better. Arriving punctually at the designated time with an assistant, they moved the bedroom furniture to the middle of room and began work. After they finished repairing and painting, the room was vacuumed and they replaced the furniture where it had been originally. All the work was done swiftly and professionally, and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bast Painting & Services to family and friends as well as to those on Angie's List who are looking for a competent painter.

I spoke with Tim on getting an estimate on a paint job for my living room. He was very quick to respond. He came over and gave suggestions for painting. He was very knowledgeable. Received a quote later that night. The quote was fair but another painter was a little cheaper. I would consider Tim for another painting quote.

I called Tim on Monday and he came over on Tuesday to give me an estimate. His price was great so we started talking about getting the paint (needed three colors/kinds) and he offered to go with me on the spot to Home Depot and pick it all out. We did that and got his contractors discount on the paint-- no mark-up for materials. Then he and his assistant came the next day and did the job. They had to texturize the paint and cover three surfaces: new dry wall, existing painted walls, and panelling. Everything matched perfect, the contrasting walls looked great with perfect lines, there was no mess at all or paint drips. The job was done in one day!

He was extremely meticulous, prompt and courteous, and very dedicated to assuring he exceeded expectations. Tim was highly responsive in assuring the project exceeded my expectations. He has attention to detail and is incredibly neat. Tim had good insight into color and paint vendor selection, and was an excellent partner in selecting a color palette that enhances the natural beauty of the room. This was a large 1-day project and Tim was able to complete it in the timeframe. There were a few, very small brush stroke areas that needed touch-up, which Tim promptly responded to. We are loyal Bast Painting customers, and plan to hire Tim again for some minor exterior painting when the weather improves.

Tim did an excellent job of painting and he kept us updated through the entire process. He also removed old baseboard in the second story and replaced it all with wood and thenn painted that as well. He showed up when he said that he would and went out of his way to keep us informed of his progress. Tim was very easy to work with and he was also very professional. He kept the house clean during the process and cleaned up after himself. I would highly recommend him!

Overall excellent experience and fantastic price. Efficient at estimate and project stages of work. Great communication by phone, email and in person during job. Very neat. Tim and his crew were gentlemen. Only caveat was an underestimate of paint required and last minute request to tint primer. Would use again in a flash!

Excellent. He went out of his way to make sure everything was done to the customer's satisfaction. He was very easy to work with. He did not allow anything to slow him down. He did a lot of extra things that he really wasn't required to do. I had no problems or complaints whatsoever. He takes a great deal of pride in his work and it is evident in the results.

I signed up for Angie's List for the first time on 10/26/2010 at about 2am and found Tim Bast on here under Bast Painting & Services and sent him an email telling him that my mom was looking to have some painting done after we stripped off the wallpaper and glue in her small bathroom. I told him she wanted the walls texturized with the sand in the paint or whatever they use for that and that she also needed some patchwork done from the previous painter's job from over 20 years ago that came off with the wallpaper in some places. I asked him to call my mom when he had a chance and he had already called her in the morning and scheduled an estimate at 11am the same day! Since it was extremely windy outside and he was in the middle of an outdoor painting job, he was able to fit her in the very next morning and was able to patch up the problem area, spray the texture on the wall, paint the entire bathroom, and also patched up the corners in the hallway and painted both walls for her. For such short notice, he did an incredible job for my mom and she will definitely use him again in the future. Thank you, Tim!

He calls ahead to discuss the weather conditions and if he is able to do the exterior painting. He shows up on time and works until quitting time. A good worker.

This is the third time we've used Tim's services this year. Tim did his normal great job - fine detail lines, clean work and great color choices helped us get the room done very nicely.

This is the third time we've used Tim. As in the past he did an excellent job and we'd recommend him to anyone. We had him touch up some walls & paint our new window trim. Its nice to have someone like Tim that can be trusted inside your house and he also does nice neat work.

This is the second time we've used Tim's service. He did our house outside a couple weeks ago. We were so happy with his work we asked him back for some interior painting. Last week he did the interior painting for us. This was another great experience. His work is well done, clean and very accurate.

Tim suggested using a paint versus a stain over outside wood, and using a satin finish versus the very flat stain that had been used previously. Both were great recommendations. Then he was understanding when the initial painting showed that the color was too green, versus a true "black forest." He waited while I chased for a different tint color. The final product looks outstanding - exactly as we hoped and envisioned. We plan to use his services for more inside painting projects later in the year.

We've used Tim before to touch up paint in several rooms. This time we had Tim paint our staircase and upstairs hallway. Entire job was done in one day. No mess left behind. Highly recommended. Great communication.

The overall experience was wonderful. Tim is very pleasant and knowledgeable. He is especially helpful in picking out colors and has a real vision for the colors that would work well in a space. My original quote was based on an hourly rate and he was able to stay very close to that amount even after figuring in the extra prep work. I have paid less for paint work, but I have had to have that work redone...the old adage "you get what you pay for" is so very true when it comes to a good tradesman. Tim is well worth his rate and he will work efficiently for you. That said, this is a very busy this time of year for him, and he has a full schedule, so you have to set up a time with him early. He is very responsive to email and phone calls. You will not be disappointed!

Very helpful in planning project/picking colors. Started on time. Began work slowly & carefully but then seemd in a hurry to finish. This resulted in many touch-ups needing to be done the second day. Final results were satisfactory with the exception of one spot on accent wall where a hole was patched. Tim came back and retouched that spot.

TIm is great. He came when he said he would. The people working with him were friendly and very competent. He cleaned up after the job and the job was completed quite quickly. He was not the cheapest bid, but only a $700 difference from the lowest bid, and he does not bid the paint. I had to purchase the paint (included in stated cost for this review). I liked having to buy the paint as it avoided changing the bid mid-job. I was very happy with the end product. He is nice, courteous, and did an excellent job painting our house. His colleague did the work on the window frames and the carpentry was excellent. You can barely tell where the repairs were made to the windows. Finally, Tim was highly communicative. I always knew what was going on, and when hee needed to contact me with information, he did so. I would highly recommend him.

I had used Tim before but just for interior, last winter. We were very satisfied with his work ethic and quality then, but mentally had pidgeon-holed him as strictly an interior man. Thus, when I started getting bids on exterior painters this summer, I didn't consider him. I then became side-tracked and started getting bids for low maintenance siding. The indecision lasted for the rest of the summer until I decided that was too costly, so went back to seeking painters. By then it was fall, and the weather had suddenly changed to wet and cold. I was getting desparate until I saw an Angie's List report on Tim Bast Painting Services. I was buoyed by the prospect of hiring someone that I previously had had a positive experience. Tim took a look, and reported back (I couldn't meet him because I start early and get home late from work). Because of the weather, he suggested a priority schedule, as not all the siding and trim was in bad condition. When the weather broke, he was ready with a partner or two and was able to jump in to match, buy the paint, scrape and paint. He was able to deal with areas of greatest need before the weather turned sour again, at the end of the second day. I consider this next to amazing, given that he scraped and painted two full sides and the garage of our two story, four bedroom home. We are very satisfied with the results. Most of the time, he and his partners were on their own recognisance, as both my wife and I were gone. However, my previous experience with Tim lead me to believe I could trust him, and again we found him worthy of that trust.
