That turned out okay. This was for our kitchen. My husband was there when they came out. This was a slow process and they were somewhat unresponsive. They also said they would do an alternative plan, but they never got back to us.

American Home Remodeling provided excellent service from the beginning. Scott worked with us to maximize the space we wanted to finish and stay within our budget. He also gave us good ideas to make sure the finished space looked the best it could. He was very knowledgeable when it came to answering any questions we had. The entire crew that worked on the basement was always friendly and professional. I was impressed with their cleanliness. Too many times I have had contractors not clean up after themselves. This was a nice change. I was also very impressed with the amount of time it took to complete our project. Scott and his crew showed up the day they said they would, and at the time they said they would. They worked hard and efficiently. I couldn't believe how quick they were able to finish the entire remodel. Whenever I had questions during the project, Scott was always prompt and thorough with his responses. He always kept me up to date on what the crew would be working on next and how the schedule was progressing. At one point I requested a slight change to the design and Scott didn't have any issues with making the modifications. He was actually very supportive and encouraged us to let him know what we wanted. I was very happy that he worked with us throughout the entire project. Overall, I would say my expectations were exceeded by American Home Remodeling. I never imagined our basement would look as amazing as it does now. I have already had compliments from guests as to the high quality workmanship. I highly recommend using American Home Remodeling. I know I will again!

Our information, and return of information was lost by them. Initially slow to respond, but greatly improved response time after first few interactions. Very professional. Quality of work as seen from references was very good. Ulitimately we determined the bid was too high, and did not utilize for our remodel.

It went well. He came to our house, did all the measurements, talked through our various options and we were happy with them. We had the plans the next week.

This was a significant upgrade to our existing kitchen. Everyone has been impressed with the final product and it has significantly improved the functionality and look of our house. In the planning stages, Scott worked to bring our ideas into reality. In a few cases, Scott recommended changes (such as using wood trim in the opening between the kitchen and dining room instead of plaster) which ended up looking great and was a better solution. The opening between the Kitchen and Dining room worked well and was a difficult task. Areas of concern (such as preserving our Spanish Plaster in the Dining room) were addressed carefully and the original plaster was preserved. There were some down times during the project that seems to take a while, but Scott kept us updated on timing and next steps. Overall, Scott kept us updated constently, provided valuable input throughout the process and the final result was a high quality remodel. We would consider American Home Remodeling in future projects.

I wanted new kitchen cabinets and counter top. He only does complete tear-downs and remodels. His website looks like he does good work, but my job was too small for him.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service for my daughter. They met with her, did the plans and she was very pleased. They are not going to go ahead with any kind or remodeling at this time, but they wanted to have plans so when they decide to get started they would know who to hire and how much to do themselves. The thing that interested us about the deal was that they offered a plan and that's what we got. One of the nice things they did was break down the plan the costs such as for the electrical work and the bathroom remodel. That was very helpful to my daughter because they want to have the money in-hand before they start this project. This way they can do certain segments of the work at their own pace. They delivered the plans when they said they would and their follow through was really good. The coupon was only a few days from expiring so they got right on it and we appreciated that. They did exactly what they said they would do.

They communicated effectively and there was no problem on their end.

We got a plan which was alright. It was based off some questions I filled out and emailed back along with some additional information about the basement space. We also got a rough estimate, which took some time to acquire after we received the plan.

Scott was awesome! He was very professional and trustworthy and made sure we were very happy with everything. We moved very slowly on getting started on this project and Scott stuck with us until we pulled the trigger. It was a long process but well worth it ! He took an 1980's kitchen with outdated cabinets and harvest gold counters and transformed it to a WOW! thoroughly updated kitchen that I am so very proud to show off. The cabinetry is beautiful!..His crew performed high quality work, and when we had a concern they quickly corrected it. Scott provided lots of creative ideas and guided us through the decisions. His workers were always professional and cleaned up after their work. Besides being a good contractor, Scott is a nice guy. I broke my ankle quite badly just after the project started and he made accommodations for me to make sure I could get around and one day even got my breakfast for me. I trust Scott very much and will definitely be using American Home Remodeling for the next phases of work on the house.

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. I liked the person that came, seemed knowledgeable and professional. And his manner he was prompt. I felt like he was really capable. He did a very basic design and it seems like I asked him if there were a couple of options for the ways this could be done and I don't recall if he drew more than one way. It was very simple. I guess I wanted to get more than one idea of how he would configure something. I don't remember if he verbally addressed that and he may have. But as far as a written plan I don't believe it was more than one which was showing up, I wanted some options. I was very pleased with her manner, the things that he did tell me about structurally what they would do and that sort of things. And what I also very much appreciated was when I told him we were really looking for a very simple and basic basement remodel. We weren't going for the full fancy room with the drop ceiling and all of that and we had a very tight budget. I felt like he was very honest and straightforward with what they could and couldn't do. That always leaves a good taste in your mouth.

He made the design in a timely manner. When we asked him to make some modifications on the design, he resisted but then he went ahead for one last time.

Bought a big deal, heard from the company within 48 stating to contact the company by the email they provided with my contact info so I could fill out a questionnaire to better assist them in figure out the remodel estimate. Never received email back or questionnaire.

Discussed options to finish our basement. Will provide bidable drawings within a couple of weeks.

Angie's List provided a wrong e-mail address for this contractor. It was difficult to establish contact through phone, but eventually we received a return phone call. Many delays. company visited our home and complained that they only receive a very small portion of the fee paid to Angie's List, which really does not help me. I had provided detailed written description of what we wanted done and specs. We walked through the basement where we wanted a recreation room built. They took measurements and I described the work that we wanted done. After we received the draft plans, they contained many items that we had not requested and not discussed. He had incorrectly added many extra electrical lights and switches for the part of the basement separate from the recreation room, which simply add more to the cost. I marked up the plan to show what needed to be corrected. Never received corrected plans. We also requested a quotation for having the work done, and it was "sky high" compared to other qualified contractors (A-rated on Angie's List). He included items that we had excluded from his quote. This "service" is really only a marketing service for a contractor to sell projects, and seems that he only wants large projects. The responses to calls and e-mails was extremely slow. We heard several times that they thought that they had already sent information to us when they had not. So excuses come easily. Based on this experience alone, we decided to have a different contractor perform the work and so far are happy.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. I ended up deciding to wait on the basement remodel. The person who came out had some good ideas about how to do things. I had no interaction issues with the provider and they were good. They also provided an estimate to do the work.

They were prompt in letting us know that we were out of their service area.

The project went great. The shower looks better than I could have imagined. Scott had some great ideas he added to the project that improved the final outcome. They were a great company to work with. All the contractors he used were professional and did top notch work. I would recommend them to anyone!!!

From the first time we met, Scott was very professional and respectful. All the work that was done was of the highest quality. Scott did a total kitchen remodel. He removed all of the existing cabinets and countertops. He installed new custom cabinets. I had an existing wall exhaust fan. All of the other contractors told me they would have to create a new hole in my exterior wall to install the vent for an exhaust fan over the range. That would require the removal of part of my siding. Scott said he could use the existing opening. The other contractors told me I would need a dumpster and porta potty. Scott hauled away the debris every night in his truck. He used our bathroom when necessary. The other contractors said that my appliances would have to be removed from the kitchen. We have to place to put them. Scott covered them with plastic and worked around them and moved them when necessary. An inconvenience for him but a large appreciation from us. When we started, I told Scott I had a must be complete date because we were expecting company from out of state. He finished right on the button. He was always considerate of our needs. Scott went above our expectations during this remodel. We asked for some little things along the way which in worked into the schedule. He painted the walls and ceiling. We had new recessed can lights installed. A new floor was also installed. That was an extra the we added after seeing that everything else was new. This is the best contracting experience I have ever had. I highly recommend him for anything. He also finished right on budget except for what we added.

We were looking to do a basement remodel. At the time, we had a basic idea of the layout we wanted, but were running into problems coming up with a design to divide an old bathroom into a smaller bathroom and a hallway. Speaking with other contractors, they were happy to do the work but were not really willing to help come up with ideas to make the space work the way we wanted it. When I contacted Scott at American Home Remodeling, he came over and immediately started to offer up design ideas and layouts. There were sewer and water pipes in the way and low HVAC ducts, and he offered suggestions on ways to move or work around them. I was very impressed. Scott came back with some plans and a quote which I found to be competitive with other contractors, so we offered him the job. He was very good with communication and making sure we were always on the same page regarding layouts and placements. Going into the project, we knew there was a chance that additional sewer problems would be uncovered and they were - more than we had even anticipated. Scott was very good about offering options as to how we could resolve these sewer problems, either for the short term or long term and left the options up to us. I feel he was extremely fair about giving us a very reasonable price to complete this additional sewer work as we were already quite extended on the remodeling project to begin with. Scott's subcontractors were professional and courteous and always cleaned up after themselves. Scott did a wonderful job of keeping the project on budget and offered up several things that become required during the project to us free of charge. We are extremely pleased with the way the basement turned out. I am a tall guy and we had some very low hanging HVAC ducts to work around, and so I wasn't sure if it was going to be possible to finish the basement and still be able for me to stand up straight, but Scott figured out a way to accomplish this. The basement looks great. It is exactly what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend American Home Remodeling to anyone looking for a quality remodeling job.

Strung me out with very poor responsiveness, and finally begged out. Very unprofessional and delayed my project waiting for responses. They were the lowest bid for the project but spent almost no time at the site and never sent in a single subcontractor even though I offered to let them in on even short notice, and when I tried to get more detail to confirm similar quality to other bidders they begged out.
