Scott and Dan were very easy to work with and had some great recommendations to make the project work best for us. The result is 2 beautifully remodeled bathrooms and a brand new bathroom that did not exist before! All work was blended into our existing home very professionally.

Very well. Team members very well versed in their professions but friendly and willing to explain what they were doing. Presented options clearly. Kept work areas clean and cleaned after themselves. They kept us updated on offsite work (custom cabinets, marble countertops) and when they would be at our house. Work is well done and beautiful. We are very pleased.

Scott and his crew did a great job during the project. He was very knowledgeable and helpful when his advice was sought during the design phase. He had some good ideas that I never would have thought of on my own. He also was very flexible when it came to doing some of the work on my own such as painting the walls and staining some of the trim. I wasn't always the easiest to work with due to being a meticulous person, but Scott always handled my requests for rework very professionally and was available to answer all of my questions. It's definitely very important to him that his clients are happy with the finished product. My family and I expect to enjoy our basement for many years to come. I would definitely use American Home Remodeling in the future for any remodeling needs.

They were here March of last year 2015. They are usually pretty responsive. We split some of the work with me doing some of the work. The owner, Scott, is real personable and easy to get along with and he has a lot of experience. I spent about $20000. He's usually pretty punctual. I would consider working with him in the future.

This project went great as we have come to expect from Scott and his team (third time we have used them!) The installation was completed as scheduled with expert craftsmanship. The kitchen looks totally transformed. We would highly recommend for any job that is large or small. They are polite, punctual and very respectful.

We were very pleased with this entire experience. This was a very large project that was completed very much ahead of schedule with outstanding quality. This project included a spare bedroom, sitting room, play room, theater, kitchenette, bathroom and two closets. There were no surprises with the cost of the project, many extras that we added were completed at cost. He allowed us to complete the portions of the project that we felt we could handle to keep costs down without impacting the schedule. The professionalism of the contractors was outstanding and we would definitely recommended Scott and his team. Everyone was very courteous and respectful to our home.

This was a large project and Scott and his crew at American Home Remodeling (AHR) did an excellent job. We first reached out to AHR through a Big Deal to get an initial consultation and basic drawing of what we wanted to do with the space. This included a very rough estimate of what the project would cost using basic finishes. After soliciting two additional bids, we chose to go with AHR. Their bid was in line with one other bid and much lower than the third, but I also felt AHR would be more flexible in how they worked with us to stay within budget and complete the space the way we wanted. During the bidding process, it was at times challenging to get a response from Scott but I felt this was likely because he was spending more time on his customers he was currently working with. Although this caused me to hesitate slightly, I felt he would likely be attentive once we decided to move forward. I couldn't have been more right! Scott has been extremely attentive throughout the entire project and much more responsive than I could have hoped. Throughout the project, I always knew that when I checked my email in the morning, I was sure to have a response from my question the day before. Scott visited our property frequently to personally check on the progress and was very involved every step of the way. His team at AHR of workers and sub contractors have all been very professional and pleasant to work with. We've never had one concern with anyone coming and going at the house even while we were not home. And each of the sub contractors were more than willing to discuss their work with me directly, answer any questions we had or work with us to clarify exactly how we wanted things done. At the same time, I could always count on Scott to coordinate how things needed to be completed and be my primary point of contact. In the rare instance where something needed to be corrected, the crew was always right on top of it and the work was completed at no additional cost. The best part of all is that the work has been very high quality. The attention to detail down to every finish has surpassed our expectations. Scott also did an excellent job of helping us to stay close to our budget and the overall bid. Even with a few minor changes and modifications as well as a few unexpected things that always come up during any remodel, we were able to stay within 5% of the original bid. This is outstanding given the size and scope of the project. I would certainly recommend AHR for other remodeling projects no matter the size and scope. Stories of nightmare experiences with general contractors are plentiful, but Scott and his team have made this an enjoyable project. We know we and our guests will enjoy our new space for many years to come and have Scott and the AHR team to thank.

We had been planning this remodel for awhile. We contacted and interviewed 4 contractors, 3 from Angie's List and 1 other from a personal recommendation. All of the Angie's List contractors we selected were top rated and Super Service award winners. Scott quickly became the top contender given his experience and the vision that he added to the project. We had never done any remodeling before, and he was very generous in leading us through it all, step by step. He values communication and provided regular and often daily emails about the work being done. He showed infinite patience in answering all of our questions and a few concerns. We really cannot say enough about the level of customer service that we received in addition to the absolutely impeccable craftsmanship of the work done. We now have a truly breathtaking kitchen that is a joy to use. We are looking forward to hiring him again in the near future.

Scott and his team were very professionally throughout our project. He did a good job of following up on both his commitments, timeframes and costs every step of the way. They were very knowledgeable in assisting us with the many fine details that come with a project this size. Scott weighed in appropriately when we sought his advise and allowed us to make the final decision. From a cost perspective, we did not have to pay for numerous change orders throughout the project that some remodelers may charge. As long the change flowed with the decision-making process and did not require significant re-work, Scott was happy to accommodate our requests. Scott quoted us up front and was able to stay within that quote, give or take any requests we had from a change order standpoint. Our 12 month old son was having a challenging time from a respiratory perspective and his team was willing to go above and beyond to ensure that as little dust or construction particles made their way to the upstairs of our home. They tarped off the entry way to our basement even though they had to go up and down countless times throughout the project. Perhaps it should be expected but we appreciated their willingness to do so and overall understanding of the situation. I'd recommend Scott and his team for future projects of this size.

Scott and his team did a great job from optimizing our plan to detailed finish. Scott is able to identify aspects of the plan that helped us save cost (such as moving a wall instead of rerouting a drain). Scott's team performs their work with high quality (from rough in to finish). After finishing the remodel, Scott walked through all of the rooms to ensure we were satisfied with the results. Overall, we were completely satisfied with the results and would use American Home Remodeling in the future.

Second remodeling contractor called from ad in monthly magazine that did not respond. Why advertise?

We found Scott on Angie's List. We were looking to remodel our kitchen and perhaps open the area into adjoining rooms. Scott was quick to respond and was very willing to work with us as we considered the extent of the project our needs would require and our budget would allow. Ultimately we elected to have walls removed, creating an open space that incorporates kitchen, dining and living areas. Scott was knowledgeable about various materials and how best to source them. Scott's tradesmen were courteous and excellent at their trades. They cleaned up after their work and were responsive to all questions and concerns we had during the process. All of the tradesmen stated that they enjoyed working with Scott on his projects. They were all excellent and experienced problem solvers. Scott was able to coordinate their work efficiently. As complicated as a remodel is, Scott remained a courteous and creative professional. What started as lines and drawings eventually became a wonderful and inviting living space that exceeded our expectations. We would and have recommended Scott to friends and family.

Scott was very quick in responding to our initial request for a basement remodel plan. He gave us some good insight and things to consider as we put more detail around things like layout, etc.

I tried contacting this company at least three separate times, both with voice mails and emails sent through Angie's List and through the company's website. I never received a response. This is the second occurrence of the company ignoring my request for an estimate. I was able to make contact regarding a bathroom remodel (though it took a few attempts as well). I had sent photos via email as requested so Scott could get an idea of the job, and then I never heard from him.

I told Scott that i was new to this process and that i needed some guidance, but his only guidance was its not worth my time unless i met his price range. I originally started with a budget for 10k but raised it to 20K. He still didn't even want to help. He told me to call another company. Don't want to call or refer him to anyone. Update: 1/26: How does a contractor give you a quote over the phone without even coming to the location to measure it? I am sorry but my review is accurate. I was able to use another A rated contractor and they came out met with me and measured my space and gave me a more accurate quote. As I stated I was knew to this process so my budgets were off. So I needed someone to guide me though this process so I understand what I am looking for. So when I responded to Scott with a 20 K budget I was expecting what that would provide me and he wouldn't deal with me. I am sorry but that has been my experience with Scott and his team. He made me feel that I couldn't afford his service. Thanks.

The design company did not actually do the type of job that I wanted. Their designing was more on a larger scale than what I wanted. The gentleman told me to give it a year to see if I had an project that he would be able to do. One year later there are no projects that I can have this company do. I am Military and I am currently about to move which will make it more difficult to use.

Scott was very nice. He was able to provide us with ideas on how to remodel our basement and tips of how to do it. We're not sure yet if we'll use their services for the full remodel, but if we do, I'd expect everything to go very well.

This was my first experience with American Home Remolding. I am handy myself, and this project is something that I had planned to do (for about 3 years now). Time is always an issue, so I finally started looking for help with this project. We had a small deck area and wanted to expand, which included relocating a hot tub and gazebo. I originally planned to use wood floorboards, but after hearing the benefits of using composite like material, I was convinced that the Aztek composite decking was the right way to go. This put me out of my original "price range" but in the end, I know it was the right decision- I know I am paying more now, but maintenance costs for re-sealing wood down the road should pay off, and it should look like new 10 years down the road. Our new deck is about 2.5 times bigger than our original with step-up and down tiers. The only downside is my wife wanted the deck to extend out to the pool, but I needed to hold back on that portion... maybe a phase II down the road! Scott and his crew were great, and I would recommend him to anyone. His focus really is on quality and understanding what you want (even if your not sure yourself!)

This is my second project with American Home Remodeling, recently completing a kitchen remodel / make over. The project was a major undertaking for us, with moving walls and opening the space to give a large working area in the center. The kitchen was torn down completely and remarkable when completed. Shaker style marble cabinets with crown modeling and granite counter tops. We originally planned for ceramic flooring, but Scott suggested a style that simulates ceramic, but is warmer on the feet and very durable- turned out awesome! Electrical was redone, we originally had three ceiling lights on one switch, now we have recessed lighted that we can control the amount of lights we have on in the room; again- very nice option. The large center island with a prep sink was really a plus, and makes the space very efficient. Scott was great to work with, very approachable and willing to bounce ideas back and forth to work towards the end result. His suggestions helped bring the final kitchen design to what it is, we had a broad initial idea of what we wanted, but in the end we are very happy with what Scott brought to the table.

The basement looks positively beautiful! With the 10 ft. ceilings, huge windows, walk-out to the backyard, it couldn't have come out any better! We added a half bathroom, dual zone furnace, a deep sink in the storage area, LED sconces, LED canned lights, a pool table light, it's positively gorgeous. They were professional, very courteous, and a pleasure to work with.

We hired Scott and company for a bathroom remodel. Scott and his crew were very professional and flexible as we changed our minds a few times on the scope and complexity of the project. They ended up opening the kitchen ceiling to get at the plumbing and as long as they were there we decided to redo most of the house's plumbing! So, like most home improvement projects it ended up being a lot more complicated then any of us originally anticipated. We also chose to do a lot more tiling then Scott bid for and he was fair and flexible about our changes. We are very happy with how the project turned out. The room is beautiful. The whole crew was easy to work with. They were always courteous and kept the area clean. We will definitely call them for our next project.

That turned out okay. This was for our kitchen. My husband was there when they came out. This was a slow process and they were somewhat unresponsive. They also said they would do an alternative plan, but they never got back to us.

American Home Remodeling provided excellent service from the beginning. Scott worked with us to maximize the space we wanted to finish and stay within our budget. He also gave us good ideas to make sure the finished space looked the best it could. He was very knowledgeable when it came to answering any questions we had. The entire crew that worked on the basement was always friendly and professional. I was impressed with their cleanliness. Too many times I have had contractors not clean up after themselves. This was a nice change. I was also very impressed with the amount of time it took to complete our project. Scott and his crew showed up the day they said they would, and at the time they said they would. They worked hard and efficiently. I couldn't believe how quick they were able to finish the entire remodel. Whenever I had questions during the project, Scott was always prompt and thorough with his responses. He always kept me up to date on what the crew would be working on next and how the schedule was progressing. At one point I requested a slight change to the design and Scott didn't have any issues with making the modifications. He was actually very supportive and encouraged us to let him know what we wanted. I was very happy that he worked with us throughout the entire project. Overall, I would say my expectations were exceeded by American Home Remodeling. I never imagined our basement would look as amazing as it does now. I have already had compliments from guests as to the high quality workmanship. I highly recommend using American Home Remodeling. I know I will again!

Our information, and return of information was lost by them. Initially slow to respond, but greatly improved response time after first few interactions. Very professional. Quality of work as seen from references was very good. Ulitimately we determined the bid was too high, and did not utilize for our remodel.
