 + -1 moreEverything has been fine since. I almost spent good money buying an unnecessary router when the one I have works fine. Don't hesitate to call Mintech - you'll be glad you did.
Description of Work: My wireless and Internet both went out, but I couldn't find the cause. Since I need them to work (home office), I called Steve, and he walked me through the procedures on the phone. He's a great guy and knows computers backwards and forwards!

 + 0 moreI've always had trouble with my cable modem, including the router/networking/WiFi in my house. I had used Steve once previously at my job (a horrible virus, fixed overnight with 100% data retention and low cost), so I called Steve immediately. I make my living over the Internet, so I had to do something quick. Steve came right out, reconfigured all the settings/whatchamacallits/routing codes. EVERYTHING worked - desktop, laptop, file share - within about an hour, and it has been perfect since. I would recommend Steve for any computer job - he's certified with Microsoft and Apple (I have a PC). He's polite, prompt, inexpensive, glad to share his knowledge, and he's darned cute as well.
Description of Work: Router had stopped working, so I was unable to use my laptop. Then the desktop couldn't find the Internet. Steve determined I did not need a new router (a common fix-it from other techs), reconfigured everything (IP address, connections, etc.), even so my laptop could see shared files on my desktop (hadn't ever worked). Haven't had any issues since.
