I don't recall them offering to cut up the wood for firewood. They were careful. I just have a pretty neutral feeling about them. I don't think they were incredible, but I don't think they did a horrible job either. They came and they did what we asked them. They didn't go completely above and beyond. There weren't any options, we just needed it out of here there. There were no real discussions. They just came in and cut it up and took it out. They were very clean. I felt like we got a good value. It seemed to me that when I called they were here the next day to look at it and then two days later to clear it out.
Description of Work: A Cut Above came in and took a tree out. They just cleared out a tree that has fallen. They left the stump.

The trees were on their last legs and when we called A Cut Above, Ron Gay came right over to survey the situation. He talked over with us in detail, what he was going to do. He gave us an estimate on how long he thought it would take and the price. When I mentioned my concern about wasting all this beautiful hardwood maple, Ron offered to take as much of the trunk as he could save, to a mill just outside of town, where they'd cut the wood into planks we could use in the future for flooring. We also asked him if he could trim a few branches off our walnut tree while he was here, which he agreed to do. He set the job up for that following week and came on the day he said he would. They started by trimming the upper portion of the trees, which took 6 hours on the first day. He completed the job the following day, including trimming the walnut tree, hauling the wood to the mill and cleaning up our yard. An additional 5 hours. At $175 an hour plus $40 to transport the wood, the job cost us $1965.00. He will be returning later to grind out the stumps, which he has to rent a larger grinder to be able to remove tree stumps of our size and he likes to have multiple stumps to do to minimize the cost to everyone who needs the work done. We have previously used A Cut Above for other tree trimming, landscaping work and had them build a gravel pad for our camper. All their work has been excellent and they have always been very honest, pleasant and professional to deal with. I highly recommend them!
Description of Work: We had 2 very large, very old hardwood maple trees removed and had a few branches trimmed off our walnut tree. The stumps of the maple trees will be ground out in the near fututre.
