 + -1 moreHow did it go?? It went beautifully from start to finish. This really was a very large project and there were absolutely no problems from our first phone call to him until he left with all his equipment. Dale came out to our house a few days after we called him and gave us an estimate. We decided to have the work done in September and he started on 9/10 and finished on 9/16 (there were 2 non-working weekend days in there).This is a man who definitely has had a lot of experience because the whole thing went like clockwork with no hesitating or glitches. He did an excellent job of clean-up and did not leave any mess for us to deal with. I just want to mention here that we also wanted the area seeded after it was graded, so he called in a landscape company to do this part of it because he does not do seeding (this was an extra charge), but they also did a super job. All in all, we were completely satisfied and very pleased with everything Dale Schmidt Contracting did.
Description of Work: Remove/demolish a 26-year-old inground 20X40 pool. Pool had to be drained; pool liner, cement deck, filter equipment, landscape timber, and chain-link fence removed. Also take out some bushes, fill in the "crater", and grade it.

 + -1 moreHIS INFORMATION STATES THAT HE SERVICES THE ENTIRE MILWAUKEE AREA. THAT IS NOT TRUE. HE HAD A HUGE PROBLEM WITH DOING WORK ON THE EAST SIDE OF MILWAUKEE, WHERE MOST DRIVEWAYS ARE OFF ALLEYS, WITH OTHER HOUSES OR GARAGES OR DRIVES VERY NEARBY. I BELIEVE THIS COMPANY SHOULD STATE IN THEIR SERVICE AREA THAT THEY DO NOT SERVICE HARD TO GET TO PLACES. I WAITED FOR HIM TO CONTACT ME, WHICH HE DID NOT. I DIDN'T APPRECIATE HIS EXCUSES AS TO WHY HE COULDN'T DO THE JOB. I'VE HAD OTHER ESTIMATES WITH NO COMPLAINTS. THIS IS NOT AN IMPOSSIBLE JOB. MAYBE HE JUST DOESN'T LIKE HARD WORK.
Description of Work: I CALLED THIS COMPANY FOR AN ESTIMATE FOR EXCAVATING PART OF MY YARD OFF THE ALLEY TO THEN HAVE A PARKING PAD POURED THERE. HE SAID HE WOULD COME BY ON 7/13/2005, OR THE DAY AFTER, WITH A PHONE CALL TO FOLLOW UP. I CALLED HIM ON 7/19, AFTER NO RESPONSE. HE COMPLAINED THE ENTIRE TIME ABOUT THE LACK OF SPACE TO PARK HIS VEHICLE, THE LACK OF SPACE TO EXCAVATE THE AREA. HOW HE HAD TO MOVE HIS VEHICLE TO LET OTHER CARS PASS AND HOW THERE IS CONSTRUCTION AT THE OTHER END OF THE ALLEY.

 + -1 moreIT TOOK ME THREE YEARS TO FIND SOMEONE TO EVEN ACCOMPLISH THIS PROJECT. HE WAS VERY PATIENT UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. THE WEATHER WAS JUST AWFUL FOR TWO WEEKS, WHICH WAS BEYOND CONTROL. HE WAS MOST PROFESSIONAL AND ALWAYS REALLY NICE. ALL ASPECTS OF THIS JOB WAS COMPLETED TO MY SATISFACTION.
Description of Work: I HAD A LARGE 20 X 48 FOOT IN-GROUND POOL REMOVED FROM MY YARD. HE REMOVED ALL DEBRIS, HAULED IN ALL FILL DIRT AND BROUGHT IN A SMALL LOAD OF ROCK TO HELP WITH A PATIO OUTLINE. WHERE THE POOL WAS SITUATED, HE DEVISED A SOLUTION TO REMOVE A SECTION OF THE FENCE TO ACCESS THE POOL. ALL OTHER COMPANIES WERE NOT ABLE TO COME UP WITH A PLAN. HE REPLACED THE FENCE WHEN DONE.
