 + 1 moreFollowing the death of Glenn A. Carlson on December 2, 2010, Wendy Reck Howell was retained by the survivors to conduct an estate sale of his possessions. The estate sale was held in March of 2011; however, prior to the estate sale Mrs. Howell removed an extremely rare E.B. White - "Stuart Little" - First Edition book, autographed and signed by both E.B. White and the illustrator with an estimated value between $5-20,000 and posted it on Ebay as Item #180631740899 and sold it for over $1,200 without providing any of the proceeds back to the estate.
Description of Work: Ovetta Mae owner and proprietor, Wendy Reck Howell, operated this antique sales store at 702 Water Street in Eau Claire until February 2012. She currently conducts 'Estate Sales' which she advertises under the "Orvetta Mae" name on Facebook, and also under the "Craigslist - garage sales" category; and, conducts "Antique Sales" under the "Gypsy*Mae*Fly" name at Bambury Place in Eau Claire. Do not retain this woman to handle your Estate Sales! She is a thief and will sell valuable items she takes from estate sales she thinks nobody will know the value of and keep the proceeds for herself. She is not a Bonded, insured, or licensed 'estate sale/auction agent.' Furthermore, If you retain this woman for an estate sale be certain you have all items inspected and appraised by a reputable antique dealer before letting her on the premises. You take a chance buying anything from this woman, as it may be stolen property.
