My daughter rented from a new unit owned by J Cap On Chippewa Street her junior year in college. Her senior Sr year she had to move to a new unit being constructed right next-door because the rent was raised substantially. Both units were very nice but my concerns were: 1. Inadequate parking especially during the winter. 2. I flew in from San Diego, my family, her mom relatives had the place spotless and when it came time to get the security deposit back they charged her $50 for a drawer that wasn’t wiped out. When she checked out her senior year we were not going to make that mistake again. We asked for a walk through with them at checkout. They reluctantly agreed to it and said we would get all our security posit back. We even carried our own garbage out that day and did not even use the garbage receptacles. We were charged a garbage fee for everybody else dumping garbage in the community dumpsters. They have no conscience and stick to their contract and said it’s in black-and-white but my research tells me you have to have individual dumpsters and cannot divide the cost up evenly. Either way it just was not right so be careful when it comes time to getting your security posit back. You think after spending $12,000 there in two years for rent they would believe us when we said we carried our own garbage out and reimburse us $50. Unbelievable!!!
