SUMMERSET MARINE

March 2023 Summerset came recommended to me. I gave them a call and we immediately set up a time for us to meet. We met with John J and he couldn't have been more helpful in fully explaining all the piers that were available. Soon, after seeing all the options we decided on a permanent pier. The whole process was fast and easy. They came out to our property, did the measurements, came up with a plan. I agreed, signed the paperwork and within a few weeks the guys were out on the lake installing our new pier. Mind you, the weather conditions were windy and it was snowing. These guys were determined to get the job done. Took just a few days and we LOVE the clean look of this pier. I was so pleased with Summerset that I also inquired about a new lift. Summerset was happy to suggest what we needed and put together a plan. Within a few weeks, we had our old lift removed and and a new lift installed. They even helped me advertise and sell my old wooden pier. When I inquired about having the old pier removed from my shoreline, Summerset agreed to help me transport the pier to the boat launch for my new buyer. Everything went smoothy and I couldn’t be happier with the service we received. John J was exceptional in communicating with us via phone and text to get the job done! I would highly recommend Summerset!

I have a boat lift installed at the beginning and removed at the end of the season every year by Summerset Marine. This year, I'm buying a new lift (not from Summerset) and didn't need my old lift installed. Unfortunately, I didn't notify Summerset of the change and they installed my old lift per our agreement. When I let Summerset know of my mistake, they had their team remove my old lift within two work days to allow installation of the new lift and only charged me for the install - not the removal. They didn't have to do that, considering that the error was totally mine.

We purchased a pier from Summertime in early April and were told it would be installed in June. When we still hadn't heard anything by early July we started calling and sending emails requesting an update. They were very poor about returning our phone calls and messages. It usually took 3 attempts on our part to get a return call. The only time they were prompt in calling us back is when we decided to add another section to our pier, which required an additional down payment. All we wanted was to be communicated with - even if it was bad news. Finally the second week of August we received an email early on a Monday morning that the install team would be out there that day to begin pulling out the old pier and putting in the new one. My husband and I hustled around before he went to work to move our boat and belongings off the pier only to receive another message a couple hours later that they actually didn't have all the materials (deck boards) for our order and it would be at least another week. I am still baffled about how they did not have all the materials for an order taken in early April by mid-August. Finally the next week, we did receive our pier. I will say their install team was very competent and considerate and did a great job. Also the all-seasons pier that we purchased seems top-quality and looks beautiful and seems like it will last us many, many years. Overall, I think this company does good work with quality products, but they really need to step it up on the customer-service level.

Unfortunately, it took many calls and writing a thorough review that was not positive for Angie's List to receive a call from the provider to set up a time for service. Within three days since the review, the provider sent an excellent service team out to fix the boat and repair the lift. All of this could have been prevented if the provider would have followed up on customer service commitments in the beginning.

I rate them high overall.

The work personnel made sure the work was to my satisfaction and dealt with my particular concerns regarding water entry.
