They did a great job and we thought that the price was fair and reasonable. They were very professional and we have no complaints.

I contacted the store to get a quote on flooring: I needed heated tiles to be installed in a finished basement. I was told that they could do it. They took the measurements, they worked on a quote and when I went to the store to grab some samples, i sat down with one of the reps in the flooring dept and we went through the quote one more time, only to find out that the quote was about installing tiles only, and not heated tiles. Thats when i was told that home depot could not do heated tiles at all. I expressed my frustration. They told me they would either maintain the same price as originally quoted, including the heated tiles or they would re-quote the project. It is 10/04, after 2 follow up phone calls, it has been 2 weeks & i still have not had my final quote.

contractor never called to set appointment. waited three weeks then cancelled sale. no problem no explanation just cancelled the job the paint rebate was submillted on line with receipt etc. got confirmation of submission. aft six weeks got postcard saving the paint (behr) did not qualify for rebate. the sales cleks at the store were praising the rebate promotion as part of the sale. resubmitted to HD via internet. got a response saying the paint (behr) was not eleigible but as a 'favor' they were sending a one time $5 rebate. bad news.
Description of Work: subcontractor was supposed to call and set appointment purchased paint and, as per the signage, was told it qualified for labor day paint sale rebate

We noticed late one evening that our water heater had developed a slow water leak, very likely indicating a perforation in the tank, which meant that we needed a new water heater. This is a typical failure mode for standard water heaters, and our unit was more than 11 years old, about the typical lifetime. The existing water heater had been installed by The Home Depot (THD). Given that, and given that THD offers same-day installation of new water heaters, and given that THD had one positive rating on Angie's List, we gave THD a call around 10 am the following day. That was using contact information from the THD website. The person who took our call was quite professional and given the model number of our existing water heater, determining an appropriate replacement model was easy. The installer arrived at our home mid afternoon the same day, and the whole job required about one hour of work. The price for the job seemed reasonable, given some of the quotes we saw elsewhere on the List. We would use THD again for water heater replacement.
Description of Work: The Home Depot, via a local subcontractor, removed our old gas water heater and installed a new one.

When they installed the carpet in the family room two pieces of furniture were damaged. They were not as careful as they should have been. They did compensate to re-order the furniture as it was brand new.

I contacted local Home Depot on Sunday to replace a leaking hot water tank. They gave me an 800 number to call and gave me an estimate of $309 for labor. I called the 800 number and the person took some information and needed to transfer me to another person, but gave me her direct number and extension in case the phone transfer dropped. The second person took information to set up getting the hot water tank replaced the next day. I selected the 50 gal GE energy star model ($538). I was told the plumber (Watertight Watercare, Inc) would contact me the next day between 8 and 8:30am. I was told a permit was also needed and given a total estimate of $932. I had a time constraint where I couldn’t take delivery before 2pm. The second Home Depot person was willing to send an e-mail to the plumber, but I said I would work it out in the morning with the plumber. The next morning I got a call at 7:40am from Watertight Watercare to let me know the plumber would contact me shortly. Plumber called on time and set me up as the last delivery, which would be between 1:30 and 2 pm. Plumber said he would wait for me if he got there early and would call at noon with an update. Later in the day he called and said he took on another job to ensure he wouldn’t arrive before 2:30pm. He called at 3pm to let me know he was on his way. The plumber, Josh Dahl, arrived and proceeded to replace the old tank with the new one. When he was done, Josh explained that changing the tank meant that air had gotten into the pipes and to run the all faucets to clear out the entrapped air. Josh also suggested running the washer empty through a rinse cycle if any sediment got kicked up into the water. Josh explained that he set the tank temperature at 120 degrees and each dial increment was a 10-degree increase. (Safety issue - scalding water) Josh hauled out the old tank. He said he had to leave the new tank carton with us. No problem. I can deal with cardboard much easier then a 130 pound tank. After he was finished, Josh offered to wipe up the water on the basement floor. I declined as he had done more than enough already. The GE hot water tank is a vast improvement over the old tank. It doesn’t burn gas as often and there is no trace of any combustion smell. Total bill came out to $922.03. Home Depot left a message on my answering machine on Tuesday as a follow up. In summary, there was seamless communication between Home Depot, Watertight Watercare, and the ecustomer. Home Depot and Watertight Watercare were accommodating to my needs. Josh Dahl did an excellent job. Note: Also filed this report under Watertight Watercare

It was a very positive experience. The salesperson was very knowledgeable. I appreciated the way the person who measured the room came promptly. The carpet arrived before I expected it to and the installers were able to install the carpet without my having to move a heavy couch from the room.
