From the start we were impressed with the crew at Lifetime. We're busy people and our time is valuable to us so when they showed up on time for the quote I was already impressed. That's more than other contractors seem to be able to accomplish. Scott introduced himself and started off by asking questions about the situation, explaining the process, and giving us options after he saw the house and garage. He gave us a quote without any high pressure sales pitch, and after we talked about it, we decided to go with them. Calling in to set up an appointment was pretty straightforward and they were able to get us scheduled at a time that was good for us. Just like the quote, Scott showed up when he promised and got to work. When he started to do the install there was a snag because of the way the house was built with a dropped floor in the family room but that didn't slow him down. Right away he came up with "Plan B", presented it to us, and we gave our thumbs up. He proceeded with the secondary location and had things installed and running in no time. Because this was the backup plan we had to do a temporary extension cord until an electrician could get us an outlet but that's OK because we hadn't planned on exiting the house where we did. Overall I'd have to say that working with Scott and crew was a very refreshing experience. They respected our time by always being prompt, they did a professional job, and best of all, we don't have to worry about Radon levels being almost double the recommended level. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

They came a little earlier than their appointment time, no big deal to us, and they immediately got to work. We were told that we needed the larger, more expensive system because we did not have drain tile or a sump pump in our basement. They were here for about two hours and finished the job with no mess. They drilled a hole through the concrete and ran a pipe down inside our basement floor and fed it out the wall parallel to the garage, up to the rafters in the garage, and attached a fan device that they then vented out through the roof. The follow up radon test came in at well below the recommended 4.0 and we haven't had any issues with the system or its installation. Overall, a great job and would wholeheartedly recommend them.

Excellent! Initial communication was excellent. Typical cost range was provided as well as an estimate based on my answers to questions asked regarding structure of home, location of sump crocks, and available power sources. Appointment was scheduled. Technicians arrived within the appointment time frame. They performed the necessary work in a professional manner and explained how the system operates. The drop off and collection of the test unit for the included follow up radon test was also performed in the same professional manner.

Except for above comment all went well.
Description of Work: Scott & Jennifer did good job in routing the system so that it would meet the Condo Associations rules. Work was done with dispatch, neatness and efficiency. The only thing that was left undone was where the concrete shrunk back from the cored hole they was an open crack. Per Jennifer Scott was going to call me but never did. I patched the crack around the cored hole myself.

It went great. We had a radon level of 13 and Lifetime Radon Solutions was recommended to us by our home inspector. Scott arrived with two other employees and they went right to work. They were fast efficient and friendly. They connected a radon mitigatyion system that vented out through our garage roof, powered by a fan. They also put in a new sump pump. I know the sump pump is working well because of the recent rain we had. Both Scott and his employees did a good job explaining the process, and answering all of my questions about the equipment. When Scott returned a week later to measure the levels, they were down to .80, well below the recommended level of 4. The price was exactly what was quoted and the result was just what we wanted. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

Scott returned initial phone call the same day. Appointment was scheduled quickly for a few days later. He was prompt and gave fairly priced estimate of cost. Once confirmed that work would be performed, he was on time, thorough and cleaned up any mess he made. His service included a follow up radon test to ensure levels are reduced.

Scott notified us immediately that the sump pump actually worked and that only the PVC piping needed replacing. The home inspector had been incorrect. In addition, when Scott went to replace the existing radon mitigation system (fan and missing PVC piping), he pointed out that the fan on the radon mitigation system was actually working quite well and did not need replacing as indicated by the home inspector and documented on the amended offer as a condition for purchase. However, he did find that the PVC piping was not in code and needed much more work to correct the piping. Amazingly, the improper work had not been identified in the home inspection report but unnecessary work had been incorrectly identified. Thank goodness we hired an honest and ethical contractor. Otherwise we and our buyers would have been ripped off. In the end, he did not charge me for all of the extra work to get the PVC piping in the radon system up to code. And, he was very honest about the items he could have charged me for but did not need replacing. He stuck to the low end of the estimate he gave me on the phone and included a free radon reinspection. Scott and his colleague were very professional. In addition they had a great sense of humor and had me laughing. Lifetime Radon Solutions definitely gets an A++++++ from me!!!!
Description of Work: Scott and colleague did several services. They were called to replace a sump pump and to also replace an existing radon mitigation system(system fan and missing PVC piping). We were alerted to these issues because of a home inspection performed for our home that we were selling (please note that this was a home inspector that we did NOT choose off of Angie's List but one that our buyers chose of their own accord).

Prompt, courteous, friendly, quick, knowledgeable, clean. We had two options: 1. run the radon exhaust off of the sump pump, out near the bottom of the house, up the outside or 2. drill the usual hole in the basement floor, out through the inside of the garage, through the roof. I appreciate Scott's flexibility and recommendation to help us make the decision. Their base price was competitive. Our additional requirement for going through our cedar shake roof required getting an additional roofer involved, his fee was quite high, so ask first. To Scott's credit, though, they do perform normal radon exhaust work through composite roofs as part of their base price. They went "above and beyond" cutting into an unknown wooden subfloor to get to the concrete. Clean cuts, tidy work, very nice job. I also appreciate the extra assistance they provided with the electrical hookup for the exhaust fan. They happened to have three men on the job that morning and knocked it out in about 2 hours. That's fast for the amount of work they did. The radon reduction results were very good. My Safety Siren Pro Series 3 detector was reading between 9 and 10, now reads 1.

We were selling a house, and an inspection revealed radon levels of 4.2 pCi/L, just barely above the EPA maximum of 4.0 pCi/L. Scott Campbell was responsive in the quoting process, and did get the installation work done on the dates agreed upon (which was extremely important for us). He also guaranteed levels below the maximum. The house didn't have many options for routing the vent pipe, but I was happy with the choice Scott made, which minimized the visual impact on the exterior. The price was higher than what others seemed to be paying, but I believe this was because of the two-level system and the need for a new sump pump. The fan was quite loud. It was easily audible from the room outside which the fan was installed. It wasn't really audible from the rest of the house, though. I asked for a re-test in an email, and after a couple days passed and I didn't hear anything, I called and then they put me on the schedule for a re-test. That was a little frustrating. But after the re-test, the report revealed levels around 1.0 pCi/L, which was also extremely important. Overall, I was very happy with Scott and the electrician he had do the electrical work. Also, Scott's charge was $1370, and the electrician charged about $200.
Description of Work: Install radon mitigation system, and re-test. The basement had a newer crawl space, which had a floor at a different elevation than the rest of the basement. A PVC pipe was installed to connect the two floors together, and another PVC pipe was installed in the crawl space to the outside. A new sump pump was installed and sealed off. Holes in concrete blocks (at the entrance to the crawl space) were also sealed off with foam insulation. A visible suction gauge was installed on the pipe in the basement. The building above the crawl space was lower than the rest of the (two-story) house. The vent pipe had to be 10 ft (ground distance) from any second story window (otherwise the pipe had to be routed above the second story), which was possible at this house. A re-test was performed a few days after installation, and a report was provided to us.

We were very pleased with the work of Scott Campbell and Lifetime Radon Solutions performed on a house that my wife and I were purchasing. However, it was Mr. Campbell's willingness to work with us after the closing that impressed us the most. Without going into the details of what transpired before the closing (all of which were outside Scott's control), Scott completed the installation of the system prior to our closing and provided our title and closing company with a lien waiver. My wife and I came to the closing table with funds as indicated by our title and closing company and we closed on the deal and moved into our new house a week before Christmas. During the month of January we purchased new appliances as well as several pieces of furniture. It was towards the end of January that we received a call from Scott. Scott let us know that he had not yet been paid. We were surprised. We had assumed that Scott had been paid outside of closing by our title and closing company using the funds that we had been asked to bring to the closing table (Scott was expecting to be paid outside of closing by our title and closing company as well). What impressed my wife and I was Scott's willingness to accommodate the fact that we had just purchased a new home, new appliances and new furniture and there wasn't a whole lot left to pay him in full right then and there. He went above and beyond and we were grateful.
Description of Work: Lifetime Radon Solutions installed a sub-foundation radon mitigation system including the installation of a 6+ml vapor barrier in our crawl space. They also sealed our sump-pump crock.

Bottom line: would highly recommend. Called the top 3 reviewed radon services on Angies list for our area and said low price gets the work. Immediate response to my phone message, and lowest price. Showed up, to the minute, on when he said he would arrive. Worked with me to come up with an asthetically pleasing installation, which is no small task. Spent 4 hours, quality install, exceeded my expectations. Cordial, professional throughout. Showed up, again to the minute, to set equipment for the follow-up test, and retrieved the test equipment, you guessed it, exactly on time. Was incredibly flexible regarding the follow up test (set equipment "after hours" at 6pm and picked it up "after hours" at 9:30 pm) Great not having to take time off from work for that activity. Radon reduced from 7.1 to 0.2. It means I can close on my house sale. Recommended him to my realtor for future work. Thanks to Scott and Jennifer. Quality work.

Description of Work: Scott came to my fathers home and first did a radon test. The results were significantly higher than what they were suposed to be He took the time to explain his estimate and the system that we needed and how it worked. I had no clue as to the added benefits that a radon sytem could produce. We elected to have Scott and his crew put in the system. Scott and his crew were on time, clean and very curteous. I would highly reccomend Scott and Life Time Radon Solutions To any one I know in need of a radon system.

Scott did very good work and customer service was great. He explained everything before he did it and made sure everything was done right. A concern of his was the hydronic heating in my basement floor, because he has to cut in to the floor and did not want to accidentally damage it, he made sure he wouldn't. His work took about 3 hours and looks neat and professional. Very impressive! The hole he cut in the floor was perfect and neatly done, I had no idea it would look so precise. It fits in nicely and doesn't take up much space. I would hire him again and have already recommended him to others.
Description of Work: He installed a radon reduction system, replaced my sump pump and sealed the crock. The system uses a vacuum that vents gas, from below my basement slab, out through my roof.
