 + -1 moreFrom the original estimate through the installation everyone we were in contact with were friendly and able to answer all questions, not waiting "to find out" the answers. The crew arrived on time, wore protective shoe coverings when inside the residence and immediately went to work removing the old HVAC system and installing the new units. Took about 5-6 hours total, left the work areas very clean and we began to enjoy the efficient warmth of the new furnace. Three days prior to installation the fan unit control board burned out on the existing furnace. When contacted that morning the young lady on the phone said not to worry, a technician will be out in the next hour or so. The technician arrived (Dave) and corrected the problem (at no charge). That same day our service contact (Jay) called back to make sure the temporary repair was to our satisfaction and to also inform us the new AC unit was back ordered but they remedied that situation to our great satisfaction and the installation was totally complete on the promised day. Overall a very good experience.

 + -1 moreEverything went well with the cleaning, but when they turned the boiler back on, one of the pumps that moves the water through the system shorted out. To make a long story short, it turns out the pump was about 28 years old (normally these pumps last 10-15 years). When they put the oil in where it is supposed to be oiled (hadn't had it oiled in about 5 years) the tube that holds the oil must have been cracked and shorted out the windings of the motor. The tech said book price to replace a pump like this is about $450. I wasn't too happy about that, I made a call to their shop and talked with their Operations Manager. He said they were going to make it right. The next day the tech showed back up with the new pump and installed it, everything now works fine. I then talked with Operations Manager and discussed the situation, I said that I know things like this can happen, it just so happens that it occurred while your guy was working on it, no fault of his. I asked if I could pay for the pump and they take care of the service call and labor. He asked if I felt that was fair, I told him I did. They gave me the pump at their cost. I was very satisfied with them and am having them quote me on a new system with central air. The boiler/furnace is going on 36 years old and does need to be replaced at some point.

The installers were proficient and cleaned everything so that you never knew they had installed a furnace. I truly wish more services were like the way Kettle Moraine Heating conducts their business.
Description of Work: Replaced our old Lennox Pulse furnace which didn't work for Christmas. Kettle Moraine did an excellent job but their employees from receptionist to installers were helpful and courteous. Helped us so very much in a situation that was not the greatest!

Description of Work: Meet with Bill to do a complete walk through. I was looking for a contractor to upgrade the heating and A/C. After our walk through I asked how long it would be before I got a proposal and Bill told me it would take about 5days. As of today it's over 4 weeks and no proposal yet. Very disappointing. It's hard to trust someone to do the project promptly when the proposal can't be completed promptly. .

 + -1 moreA large crew showed up on time and got right to work. They removed the old HVAC components, furnace and A/C. They split into two teams, one working outside to prepare a pad and set up the A/C unit, the other inside working on the installation of the new furnace. The crew finished on time, cleaned up everything, and then the electrical crew came in to finalize the wiring. They also took care of the permits, filing for rebates from WE and from Lennox, supplied the certification required for energy credits on our 2013 taxes, and made sure we had all the required contact information should anything bad happen. When the city building inspector showed up, he commented several times on the excellent quality of the work.
Description of Work: Kettle Moraine installed a new Lennox EL296V high-efficiency two-stage furnace, a new Lennox XC14 high-efficiency air conditioner, a MERV 16 air filter, and an icomfort thermostat. Some duct work was also called for, as was additional air supply and exhaust.

 + -1 moreWe bought our furnace and air-conditioning unit through them and then they gave a discount on annual maintenance. We signed a contract through them and they came out every year to service our unit. We got two check-ups per year so the last time I didn't have to pay anything because I paid them the first time bought of our units are under warranty so if they found out something they'll fix it. They have always been responsive even when they didn't sell us the heater and air-conditioner they were responsive to fixing our old one. And then that one just got too old and we decided to go with a new one but they have been great to work with. They're honest and explained stuff well. Their prices were competitive and whenever we have an issue we just call and they're here. I have referred them to someone else.

 + -1 moreKM Heating and Air Conditioning was very professional to work with. They have been responsive and prompt, and I love my new furnace and thermostat. They provided options for appropriate systems (their "good", "better", and "best"), and then provided a detailed quote with the option of adding a humidifier. They helped show me (and submit requests for) rebates that I was entitled to, which brought the cost down $1375. They also were willing to work with me to place and install my air conditioner compressor at a future point in time (since it was winter and I was planning some landscaping in the spring). The installation was quick and easy, and they cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely hire KM Heating and Air Conditioning again.
Description of Work: Removed old furnace and air conditioner. Installed new Lennox SLP98V furnace, Lennox XC17 air conditioner, Lennox HCWB3 whole house humidifier, and Lennox iComfort thermostat.

In fact one of the installers pointed out a potentially dangerous situation with my dryer ducts (connected with screws and should not be) which I had them return and correct. As it turned out the dryer ducts were full of lint, had apparently never been cleaned, creating a potential fire hazard. Thank you for being alert to and notifying me of potential issues.

 + -1 moreCeiling mounted gas heater installed. Two workers hung around for about 2.5 hours until the electrician came to wire and start the Heater. At this time I was presented with the bill and the demand,"we want the money and we want it now." Very curt and impolite. I paid the bill. It proved out the exhaust was installed with an upward slope so condensate ran back into and dripped on a work bench. Also a shipping bracket had not been removed. I reported a noisie fan loud enough to drown out any radio music or voices. A service Man came out , changed the slope of the exhaust and removed the shipping bracket. The fan is still noisy , ie the radio.there are Other glitches , but this is enough for now. I see an attitude here. I will not do business with them again. I am getting quotes from others as I write this.

 + -1 moreMy furnace stopped functioning and as I had already purchased two furnace cleanings from them I had hoped they would be able to come quickly. I also asked the woman I talked to what it would cost to have both my air conditioners cleaned at the same time. Instead she tried to sell me a service plan. I indicated I didn't need one as I already had purchased furnace cleaning. She said she'd check about the air conditioning and call me back but never did. I called her the next day and the price she gave me was quite high. I then asked when they could come as my furnace nor air conditioning was not working. She said their first appointment was June 6th. - not much help to me. I then called Dave Droegkamp. He was able to come quickly the next day. While the service call was a little high, he fixed everything on the spot and it took him quite a while to accomplish that with two furnaces and two air conditioners. I needed to leave for a meeting while he was still working and he left his number for me to call him and explain what he had done and answer any questions. I would definitely use DROEGKAMP again but will probably only have Kettle Moraine clean my furnaces as I already paid for that and will not be in a hurry to call them in the future.

 + -1 moreVery Well. I have an oil furnace that I needed cleaned. THere are very few companies that work on oil furnaces. And my house is in Burlington Wisconsin, which is outside of most service providers catchment area. The other service providers were only able to put me on a wait list.Kettle Moraine was able to schedule the work within about 3 weeks. When they arrived, they discovered the furnace was not working because the oil tank was too low. But they did all the cleaning for their oil maintenance fee of $139.00. They will need to return once I fill up the oil tank (it has 150 gallons in it but requires more to bring it up to the input line) so that they are there to restart the furnance and make sure it is properly functioning. THere will be an extra fee but they will keep it as low as possible, assuming everything starts up as expected.They offered to hold my bill until the second visit. They called and left a very detailed message at my work number explaining the situation. My experience was very good and I would use them without hesitation in the future.

 + -1 moreVery responsive, professional, and efficient. They found that my heat exchanger was cracked, and took the time to show my wife the crack, and explain the problem. They informed us that it was still under warranty, which was a surprise to us, since it was 12 years old, so we only had to pay for labor. They were good at explaining options for either replace or repair, and did not use scare tactics to try to get us to buy new. Service was performed on a nearly emergency basis, but they did not charge us any extra for their rapid response.

We don't shop for the lowest price - for us it's more about the quality of the work and dealing with somone knowledgeable and who has professional integrity. We found them to be helpful and plan to continue to go back to them when we need maintenance or repairs.
Description of Work: It was time to replace an aging furnace and humidifier - we thought we had pumped too much money already into repairing the Carrier one we had. Very bad experience with rusted exchanges; I think we replaced all the major components over the last 8 years. By the end of February it sounded like a jet taking off every time the furnace ran. With another company telling us we had yet another $600 repair we decided to replace through KM and went with a variable speed Lenox per their recommendation. It's quiet and has significantly improved the environment in our home. A welcome change! We shopped a couple of companies and got quotes - including the one we had used for several years but ended up switching to KM. We compared the product, warranty, what each company appeared to provide for service- the whole package.

Everything has been fine and I was glad he explained that. Everything went great. I would recommend them and I would use them again.
Description of Work: I used Kettle Moraine Heating & Air Conditioning because we had a problem where we had sucked some blowing snow into the intake of our furnace and it got water into the pressure valve and I hadn't found it on my own. He blew the water out of it and got everything back up. He did a brief initial furnace check.

He arrived on time, asked many questions to understand our needs in a new heating system, and helped develop a very flexible quote, with multiple options to upgrade the system if desired. The quote was not provided on-site, although I believe the representative thought I was in a rush to leave. After providing the estimate over email, the representative was very responsive to questions and requests. Ultimately, we went with a different service who had worked on our system in the past.

 + -1 moreExceeded all expectations from the selection of the boiler to the end of installation. Bill, the owner, not only does the "sizing up" of the system based on the needs of the customer but also did not try to sell something just to increase his profit margin. Many other companies that came out just seemed to go through the motions to come up with an estimate price.* But after Bill came out, he called me in a few days after he had sent out the estimate to see if we had anymore questions AND continued to get back to me with my concerns up until we made our decision to go with his company. This customer service focus was a quality of all of his organization throughout the process and even AFTER. Bill has persoanlly called to see if everything is running properly and will be stopping over in the future in case any "tweeking" needs to be done. *His estimate included three different price ranges and clearly laid out what additional options were available and at what extra cost.
Description of Work: We hired Kettle Moraine Heating and Air Conditioning to replace a boiler in our 100 year old farm house. What a wonderful experience. Bill offered us several options (good/better/best) and offered us flexibility with regard to payment options but, that wasn't the best part. I had many questions before making this major investment and he made himself available to answer all of them until I had a clear understanding. On his initial visit he evaluated what size system we actually needed according to the square footage of the house which was different than the other companies that came out and more or less looked at what we currently had and just looked up a newer equivalent. He and his crew arrived on schedule and completed the job in two days which involved removal of the old boiler and oil tank before the new system could even be installed. They treated our property like it was their own and cleaned up the whole area not only after installation but also during to prevent any accidental injuries from happening. The first day Bill, actually part of the crew of 5 started at 9 am and worked until 7 pm. The next day which they had hoped to be a half day turned into a full day of work also. The price remained the same even though they encountered a few hiccups. Bill and Sara took over their father's business and continue to provide customer service and satisfaction which is unparalleled by others in the area. ( the work was done last week and he just called to make sure everything is still working smoothly and to ask if I had anymore questions)
