I recently purchased an Angie's List Big Deal to have my gas log fireplace cleaned/inspected. It had been several years since it was done, so I figured it was probably due. Once I bought the deal, Fox Chimney quickly contacted me to set up a time to come out. They called me again on the day of the service to let me know they were on their way. The technician was prompt, courteous, and very knowledgable. He answered all of my questions, and I was pleased with the results. I thought the price was reasonable, and I plan to use them again in the future.

I had not had the gas fireplace checked in years, so having it inspected and cleaned up for the winter seemed appropriate. The repair man showed up promply for the appointment and did a great job. He also gave me some safety tips which I appreciated.

I was very pleased with the service Fox Chimney provided. The technician was extremely knowledgeable about our fireplace and fixed a problem with the wiring that had apparently existed since it was installed. We enjoy our fireplace much, much more now that the fan works correctly, the glass is clean, and we have more embers. Very much worth the expense!

It went well. They did an excellent job, and they even did extra tuck pointing at no additional charge. Great folks to do business with.

Travis was very professional and friendly. He took his time to explain what he was doing as well as features of our fireplaces that we were not aware of.

Travis was punctual, friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions. He cleaned our gas fireplace glass and even explained to me how to remove the glass to do it myself if I would so choose. He replaced our embers and make our fireplace look fantastic. I am definitely happy will the service and would not hesitate to hire them again.

Technician arrived and started work on the lower fireplace/stove, removed glass, cleaned glass, painted rust that surrounded glass with high temperature enamel spray paint and then removed some of the loose rock and replaced it with "glowing embers". He then reassembled, lit pilot and then check burn. He then cleaned area and moved to the second unit which was a repeat of the first (slightly different unit, but basically the same steps as above. Technician was great, very informative and knowledgeable. He made suggestions for efficient use of the gas fireplaces/stoves and also for another wood burning stove that we have at a cabin.

Jayson Fox and his technician Dustin responded to my request promptly, and quickly determined the problem. He told me my chimneys were clean and so did not try to sell me unneeded services. However, the initial measurements for the covers were incorrect and therefore the replacement covers could not be installed on schedule and had to be re-ordered. However, the new covers were efficiently installed immediately upon receipt by Dustin and his assistant, without further problems. Also, Jayson mailed a copy of the inspection report for my records, as promised. Despite the delay, I would definitely use Fox Chimney Service again.

They were great. There were two men who came and thery friendly and seemed to really enjoy their job. The gentleman who cleaned my fireplace was very careful about not getting anything dirty. I have light colored carpet and it was covered up very well. He was very friendly and funny. The gentleman who looked at my wood burner gave my husband great advise on what we should and shouldn't do with it. He also was able to give us an estimate on how much it would cost to replace it. Both men worked fast and did a great job. But, they took their time answering all our questions. I would not hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them.

The communication after the purchase was prompt and clear. I was able to pick our day and time a couple of weeks out and purchase a second cleaning at the same special price. The technician arrived on time and was thorough and efficient. My husband was at home to handle the appointment and had nothing negative to say, which is quite unusual for him :)

An experienced and knowledgeable Fox Chimney professional arrived on time to inspect and clean a wood burning fireplace chimney. He inspected the chimney using a video camcorder, which could be extended to the full length of the chimney. I watched a Real-time video display while the camcorder was in the chimney; afterwards he provided me with a written report. Upon completion of the job, the site was still as clean as it was before he arrived. We were completely satisfied with Fox and would recommend their services.

Dustin came out and was awesome. He was easy to communicate with and pleasant work with. He cleaned up after himself.

When they looked at the chimney they said it didn't need to be cleaned but we didn't have a chimney cap. They installed the cap, didn't charge us for the sweep and we just paid the difference for the materials.

They arrived on time and got right to work. One person worked on wood-burning fireplace and its chimney while the other worked on the pellet stove in the basement. I had not had time to clean the firebox since the last fire, so there was a little extra cleaning for them to do (wasn't charged!). The only extra charge above the Angie's List special was the pellet stove. They spent most of their time dismantling the the connection to the chimney to discover it had not been installed correctly (Top Hat Fireplace installed) and ash was not being dropped into the chimney collection system...just piling up in the vent. I was extremely happy with their service and professionalism and will use them again.

They were excellent to work with. They made some good recommendations on what I needed done to the chimney. They seemed very straight forward and honest. They were not pushy at all and did a great job. They were a pleasure to work with.

They came and did the inspection but they still have not provided further work that they said they would do. They said they would contact us with a date and they have not done that yet. They said they need to fix a leak at the chimney cap at the top of the chimney. We had a smell coming from the chimney and they said that the material covering the flue needed to be removed and they said they need to spray that in the fall to soften it and then they would remove it. The masonry work on the chimney was quoted at about $1,000.00 and the additional work for the flue was an additional amount as well. They did come when they said they would initially and they were polite to work with. I would have liked to have heard from them by now as it has been about two weeks.

I was VERY impressed with Fox Chimney services.

The service went well. My husband actually handled everything with the company. I believe we plan on using the company again. The technician was very helpful and informative about things we could actually do on our own. We had no issues with scheduling.

He was professional, offered opinions on work that could be done without pushing too hard to upsell, charged a reasonable price, and completed the work in the original timeframe. No complaints.
