Description of Work: We have worked with Mergen Plumbing several times now, and they never fail to impress me with every aspect of their company. Randy is straightforward, pleasant, and will give more than 100 percent to any job we've had him do.

+ -1 moreit couldn't have gone better..he showed up right when he said he would..and he knows his trade.. great guy..saved me a lot of money too...all my neighbors know him in the community..and recommend him without hesitation..i do also!
Description of Work: my hot water heater gave out..and Randy quickly diagnosed the problem and had it running again for a fraction of what it would cost to replace it..he replaced the electronic controller and now it works perfectly...

+ -1 moreHe had to do a significant amount of work when the pipes burst. He was always on time and his price was wonderful. He also had excellent attention to detail. His concern for me as an individual was extremely high. He did things way outside of what he needed to do. He's one of the best plumbers I've ever had. He was top notch.
Description of Work: He did a lot of plumbing jobs around the house for me. Most recently he fixed burst pipes.

+ -1 moreI cannot speak highly enough of Randy's skills, professionalism and honesty. We were impressed with the thoughtfulness he put into his bids in terms of what needed to be done and the time and materials to do it right. Not to mention that he backs up his all his work. I hadn't even noticed that the chrome extension to the rain shower head was a tad too long, but Randy pointed it out and told me he would replace it in a few days. I had also opted not to spend extra money to move some pipes in the bathroom to allow the builder to put more insulation under them, only to find out, not from Randy, but from the general contractor, that Randy had done that for free saying something to the effect that "you have to do what's right for the client." Can't recommend him highly enough.
Description of Work: Randy did the plumbing work for a home remodel project. He redirected and replaced pipes to the washing machine and installed a floor drain in the basement floor. He replaced a water softener. He did all the plumbing for a bathroom remodel.

+ -1 moreHe was very nice to work with. I plan to have him install a new hot water heater in the future since he was reasonable in this case.
Description of Work: Randy put in a new kitchen faucet for me. When the aerator didn't work correctly, he replaced it with one he had. He did not charge me extra when he had to come back because of the manufacturer's flaw. He checked a couple of other small things for me as well.

Description of Work: Had him install a new water softener (one compatible with my Iron Curtain system) and a new Navien tankless water heater. Wanted to go tankless and he gave me two options to choose from. I chose the slightly higher priced, but more efficient one. Due to how they were ducted and vented, it really didn't cost much more than the less efficient one. He also ended up fixing a sink that had been draining very slowly for me. He said he didn't like to use chemicals, not sure what he did, though it is replumbed underneath and he fixed the "washerless" part of it that was dripping constantly. He did this all in one long day. Very polite (as always), very friendly, efficient. Showed me all the info I needed both before and after choosing this installation. Mailed me all the proper forms with instructions for getting rebates, info about tax credits, etc. I would definitely continue to recommend and use Randy Mergen, both for myself or anyone interested in a quality, honest plumber.

Description of Work: Installed new gas power vented hot water heater and removed old electric water heater. Saw equivalent unit at Menards for $780. Installed 2" pvc vent pipe through side of house. ~12 feet. Ran gas line to hot water heater - ~15 feet of half inch pipe. Provided me with forms for 2 energy rebates. Provided me all the different options available to me with cost.

+ -1 moreMergen Plumbing did an excellent job with the drain pipes for our bathroom remodel. He came early in the morning and was gone before I got home from work. The work he did was high quality and very affordable (according to other estimates we received). There were also some unusual demands that our basement presented, but he was very flexible with what we wanted done. On a side note, we had some trouble with installing a water softener. I gave him a call and he stopped by that evening on his way in from another job. He figured it out in about 5 minutes and didn't charge us for it. He is an excellent plumber and we'll be using him for our next bathroom workover.
Description of Work: Drain systems for bathroom remodel (Two sinks, laundry, bathtub, and toilet) Replaced cast iron stack with PVC.

Randy is remarkably professional and skilled, working with an efficiency and delivering a quality of work that is far beyond that we have experienced with other contractors. He vastly exceeded any reasonable expectations, and significantly increased our enjoyment of our home. I cannot recommend this company highly enough!
Description of Work: Install remote reverse-osmosis water system, replace/repair three floor drains in basement, reconfigure drains for water softener and A/C unit, repair interior cleanout plug, repair leaking kitchen faucet, clear slow-running bathtub drain, repair leak in plumbing inside wall, replace two covers on french drain and outside cleanout line.
