Description of Work: We called Appliance Pro in early August of this year because they were recommended on Angie's List. We have a Maytag Neptune washer that is almost 6 years old and needed service. The day their repair person came, he took a look at the washer, checked a few things and announced to my wife that he was new and he had no idea how to repair or diagnose this appliance. Instead, he said they would need to get their person who does these machines out and we had to reschedule to have him come. The problem is one of intermittently receiving an error code that stops the action. Apparently, the machine is looking for a signal and not getting it. This problem comes and goes in different wash cycles. When the expereinced repairman came out, the washer was not sending this error code, but based on our reports, he said we needed a new motor. So, one was ordered, installed and paid for. However, this apparently had litte, if any, effect on the problem. It continued. When we called them back, they said we probably needed a circuit control board and this would cost another $350. When I asked why this need was not determined earlier, the receptionist-scheduler seemed to almost blame us for the fact that the problem does not always happen on cue. That's when I pulled the plug on these people. Later, from a different vendor, I discovered that given the age of the machine and the propensity for this model to have these problems, the recommendation was not to have repaired it in the first place.
