I love this store! I found the store when I was out looking for ideas for a kitchen renovation that I was considering. I was so impressed by the way the floor of the showroom is done in segments, so people can see lots of different possibilities. They seemed to have a great selection of all floor coverings, although I was primarily looking at tile. I didn't buy anything as I was not ready to make decisions yet, but when the time came find the right tile for my backsplash, I remembered Nonn's selection and decided to take a drive. The store is over an hour from my home, but I knew I had a good shot at finding something that would match a tile mural that I am using in my project. I was approached right away by Kathy and Nicole who very nicely asked if I needed help. At first, I refused and looked around on my own and found a few things I liked, but decided I really did, not only want help, I needed help! After listening attentively and looking at the piece of the mural I was looking to coordinate and the Cambria sample that will be my new countertop, she said, "Follow me", and led me right to one of their displays that had the perfect tile on a wall. I needed a 2"x 4" tile and that was no longer available in the travertine that I wanted, but she said, "Just a minute, let me go check on something." She came back and said that while it had been discontinued, there wes 15 sq. feet still available in the warehouse. SOLD! She also explained about stone enhancer and how I could deepen the color of the tiles, which I wanted. My point is--don't hesitate to ask for help, because they really know their products and how to achieve the look you want. Then, less than a week later, I decide I could really use ONE square foot of 2"x 2" the same tile, so I called Kathy. She managed to arrange for someone to stop to their warehouse, pick up the ONE sheet of tile and bring it to the store, so that my husband, who was driving through Madison that evening, could stop and pick it up. It saved me from having to make another trip up to the store. That's the kind of experience I had at Nonn's--outstanding service and we really had fun working on my project together. I cannot speak for their installation department because everything I bought will be installed down here in Illinois.
Description of Work: Helped me find just the right tile for my project.

Sales Support was Excellent. Lauren is young but knows her cabinets. She met us at the show room and later the Parsonage and took her measurements and answered a lot of questions and worked with us on sink and faucet options. We got sink and faucets elsewhere. She came up with three designs for over the sink and met Pastor wife’s requirements. Demo work was performed Bob. Kitchen cabinets built in 1971 so it required a board by board disassembly which took more time. No boxed cabinets back then. He answered all questions and was professional and efficient in his work. You could tell he had lots of experience. Took care not to damage existing doors and walls. Bob also installed the new upper and lower cabinets. Again his depth of experience showed. He identified an issue with an electrical outlet location and worked around the issue until I could get a master electrician there to move the dishwasher outlet. He did install another cabinet and covered up another outlet but cut a hole in the cabinet so we could access the outlet. Quality of finished upper and lower cabinets was excellent. However, there was a critical error made by the factory on the small cabinet to the right of the sink which meets another cabinet forming an “L”. The drawers and doors on the small cabinet interfered with the opening of the door and drawer to the right of the cabinet. You could not open the drawers and doors on one cabinet. They should have seen this in the design and used a 1” insert between the cabinets to avoid the interference. So Bob installed an insert inside the opening for the door and drawer which reduced the width of the drawer and door. These two components had to be custom made by the factory and took 3 weeks resulting in the project not being finished on time. Therefore, they got a “C” grade for the quality of the work. Part of the design was a 7 ft tall cabinet with adjustable shelves. Factory mistake #2…the adjustable shelves were too long and would not slide by the plastic shelf clips. Rick took them back to the shop to cut them down to the correct length. The original wall of cabinets ended 2” from a door way. When the new cabinets were installed it was 7.5” from the doorway so I had to hire a skilled plaster tradesman to fix the exposed wall. Not sure who’s mistake, factory or sales person. The wall had no plaster top coat. After the new vinyl floor was installed Rick, Manager, installed the toe kick board. Everyone we came in contact with was very professional and experienced. We were on a tight timeline and they met every commitment except for the smaller doors and drawers.
Description of Work: Kitchen remodel. Obtained two quotes from two different companies to install new doors and drawers and found out you need to add cost for refacing cabinet boxes as well. Cost was high and outside project budget. Nonn’s salesman suggested new cabinets. Learned that new cabinets are less expensive then new drawers and doors and refacing cabinet fronts and were within budget. They worked with Pastors wife and myself (Church Property Chairman) on cabinet design and layout. Guided us for cabinet design, picking out hardware, and providing quotes. She did all measurements. We selected Countryside Cabinetry with dovetail drawers with soft close full extension glides and standard hinges.

Nonn's was completely professional from start (Michele Breunig), to measurement (Ron) to installation. This was a relatively small job, necessitated by water infiltration from massive rainfall. Michele did not try to sell us more than we actually needed and Ron gave us several good tips. Based on our experience I would definitely recommend Nonn's for any flooring job.

I wanted flooring in my basement. The staff were attentive and somewhat helpful. I settled on a laminate floor and bought it and picked it up myself to save a delivery fee. I don't remember if at the point of sale I was told there couldn't be more than an 1/8 of an inch variance in the level of the floor but it came up during subsequent discussions with several contractor/handymen. Most said the floor was basically ok and just put it down but I checked back with the provider. They came out and went over the floor with a big level and said the floor was way out of whack and needed to have floor leveling. I said ok. They called back the next day and said all paint and mastic with asbestos had to be removed and ph treated down to bare concrete. I had dirty ducts come in and for 1500.00 dollars they did the work. When I told Nonn's I was ready they said come in and sign a contract. When I saw the contract they wanted 3500.00 to put down leveling compound and put down the laminate floor. I guess I should have asked more questions but I was shocked. I left as the person I had been dealing with was busy, to do an errand at East Town. I saw Carpets Plus who I had done business with before and asked what they thought. They said I was getting ripped off. I asked if they could install the floor but they said no as I had not purchased the floor from them but they gave me the name of an installer they used. I called Richard Zepnick who came over and said the floor was fine and didn't need any work that Nonn's said was needed and gave me a quote of 1500.00 to install the floor. He did the work in a day and a half and when he was done he said because he used less materials he would only charge 1200.00. How often does that happen nowadays? I'm not going to Nonn's for anything anymore. ,

Dear Member, We always appreciate honest, informative feedback, as it helps us reflect and ensure that we are providing our customers with service we can stand by. When it comes to installing laminate flooring, our main concern is making sure it is installed correctly as per the manufacturer’s instructions. This is most important as it allows for the product to perform at its best, and allows the manufacturer warranty to remain in effect, which saves customers thousands of dollars down the road should they need to make any claims on the product. Though, originally, we were not going to be involved in install, when it came to our assistance being needed, we took every precaution to ensure the installation would meet the standards required for the warranty. Our experts went onsite and, indeed, found out the floor was not level and rose up in the middle. We took extra precautions, contacting our setting material manufacturer, who informed us that their leveling product was not warranted to be installed over painted concrete. At this point, we gave a bid for the cost to properly level the floor and install the laminate as per our manufacturer’s instructions. As always, we keep our bids very honest, as we never want the customer to be surprised at a cost after the work has been completed. Though we are disappointed to hear that we were not able to complete the project for you, we do believe we took the necessary steps and accounted for what needed to be done in order to give you our best service. Our staff has been trained to look for uneven floors, and we feel that our recommendation and process for the leveling and installing was done in the most efficient and effective manner, to ensure the proper performance of the floor, and allow the warranty to remain effective. Our goal is to make certain that clients are satisfied for the long term, and avoid running into unforeseen expenses down the road. All employees and installers involved have been made aware of this review, and will certainly take your input seriously. Again, we appreciate your time, thank you.
Lauren did a great job guiding us through the process of picking three new mid level vanity cabinets. We took wood samples home to make the final wood selection and the final stain. They ask for a deposit which was refunded when the samples were returned. Ordered new cabinets on March 17th. Good follow up by the sales person to keep us up to date with delivery to their warehouse. Cabinets delivered around April 23rd or 24th. Installation was scheduled for April 28th when the company confirmed delivery of the cabinets with the install window of 8:30 to 10:30 am. At 8:45 am on April 28th we got the phone call that the installer was sick. They would call on Tuesday to confirm new installation date. I immediately called the company we ordered the Quartz counter top from and cancelled the template measurement that was previously scheduled for April 29th at 8 to 10 am. Nonn's called on Tuesday afternoon, April 29th for an install on April 30th at 8:30 and I said no. We agreed to a 10 am install time. I rescheduled the template guy for Thursday morning, May 1st. On Wednesday at 8:30 am the electrician showed up and replaced the ceiling exhaust fan. The install time was estimated to run 60 to 90 minutes. The electrician finished at 9:30 and left and the Nonn's installer arrived early at 9:35 am. The installation was completed by noon. When you manage sub contractors, any kind of a delay impacts other contractors. I don't blame Nonn's for the delay; stuff happens. So no change to the rating for this delay. The installer unpacked the cabinets on the driveway and brought them all into the house because it was suppose to rain. He installed all the cabinets and ran the vacuum on the floor to pick up the wood chips from drilling. He did lay tarps over our wood floor and we had tarps down over the bedroom carpet. Near the end of the install our sales person, Lauren, arrived to check the cabinets and to confirm that we were happy with the cabinets. When the installer was done he gave us a tube of wax to fix future dents and a color marker for scratches. There was one issue - the four doors did not have soft close hinges. The drawers did have the soft close feature but not the doors. So Lauren called and they had none at the store or warehouse so they were ordered. They arrived on Tuesday, May 6th and she came out and installed them on May 7th. She had some issues installing the hinges and getting them adjusted and aligned. Cabinet finish was excellent. The Cherry stain was slightly darker than the store sample. We had expected it to be slightly lighter and to darken over time. Quality construction was a huge increase over the "builder grade" that was in our 12 year old house. We are very satisfied with the cabinets. Pluses: Sales support was excellent. Lead-time was acceptable. Quality of construction is excellent at this price point. Quality of finish was excellent. The tube of wax and stain color tube is an excellent idea. Installer did a good job with the installation. Quick response to ordering the soft close hinges. The holes for the water supply line and drain line were good on the left sink and outstanding on the right sink. Right on center on one side and slightly off but well within tolerance on the other side. I was impressed with his measurement skills. You just can't do much better than this. Minuses: Their was a dent in the 3rd cabinet near the bottom corner and raw wood was showing. They did not repair, so I had to use the wax tube and stain color to fix the corner ding. In addition, fixed one small nick on the front that was easily covered by the stain color tube. I also colored the nail head that were driven into the side panel so you could not see the raw wood. Factory should have fixed this before shipment. The biggest complaint I have was the cleanliness of the cabinets and drawer. There was a layer of dust over all wood surfaces. It took me an hour with a wet and dry cloth to wipe down all surfaces. A year ago we remodeled our kitchen and used a different company. When they were done installing the cabinets they wiped down all surfaces and used a vacuum to get all the wood chips out of the corners of the cabinets. We did minimal cleaning. You won't believe all the wood dust inside the drawer cabinet. The doors came out easily for cleaning. This did not meet my expectations. So be prepared to clean the cabinets your self. Overall, I would do business with them again. .
Description of Work: Master Bathroom remodel project. We planned to replace the three Oak vanity cabinets, new counter top, Jacuzzi tub to shower conversion, new paint, new exhaust fan, new lights, new sinks, faucets, and accessories. The kitchen and bathroom designer, Lauren Johnson, guided us through the cabinet selection process, and provided quotes on cabinets and Quartz and Granite counter tops. We got quotes from 4 cabinet companies and selected Nonn's for their Countryside cabinetry with Halmark doors (raised panel with full-overlay, soft close door, dovetail drawers with full extension soft close glides based upon price and quality of the cabinets. We paid the extra cost for the Cherry wood fronts with the Harvest stain. Their remnant prices on Granite and Quartz were high and we went else where for the master bathroom to get the Quartz we wanted. We had them price the new and remnant Granite counter top for our guest bathroom and again their prices were high. Nonn's has one dedicated installer.

I was very impressed with my initial visit to Nonn's. The staff was very attentive and helpful and provided considerable information. I provided drawings and measurements and asked for a rough estimate for the floors on the entire main level of my home and the kitchen countertops. I didn't hear back and so called to make an appointment to stop at the store to make sure they had the information they needed and my contact information (telephone and e-mail). At the second visit I selected products for the floors and countertops and discussed in detail the serivces that would be needed. I was told they would get back to me within the week, the appointment was on a Wednesday. After more than a week had elapsed I called and received an out of office message on the sales person's direct line indicating they would return the following day. I left a voice message asking for a status and call back. This was on a Monday. When I heard nothing by Friday of the same week, I followed up with an e-mail. I never received any return call or e-mail. I felt that I had given them every opportunity to respond and elected to move on to another company. The work with the new company is almost completed and I am very happy. When it is finished I will write a review. I don't think I would bother to go back to Nonn's, there are so many other companies to work with that are interested enough in their business to follow up with customers. The lost out on a job that would have been in the $7 to $9k range. In discussing my experience with others, they had similar issues with communications from Nonn's. I would recommend thinking twice before you purchase from this company, if they neglect you during the sales process, it is likely that they will not perform well during the project. 3.18.13 I note that the provider has responded to the review and indicated that they had no record of my contacts on file. As noted in the review above, I provided room diagrams, had telephone and e-mail contact, as well as two separate visits (one by appoinment) to the store. While may not reflect their usual service, this is an accurate representation of my experience.
Description of Work: No services were performed. The services requested were hardwood flooring purchase and installation and kitchen countertops.
