The work went well. Sam and crew hung, taped, sanded and primed approx. 80 sheets of drywall (5/8 on the ceilings and 1/2" on the walls). We gave Sam a key to the house and went on vacation. We came home to a completed job.

Sam at Primary Painting & Drywall provided one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor. While I'm savvy enough to do my own remodeling I though I would contract out the rough in plumbing and drywall work. Sam was professional, responsive, and did an amazing job. He would give me nightly check ins with what they did, what they have to do yet, and when they would be by next. His crew was professional and cleaned up after themselves pretty well (only some minor messes were left behind where they walked in the bathroom to get water). His work is fantastic and you can tell he's knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. I would hire Sam in a heartbeat and I'm a fairly particular person when it comes to hiring people to do work.
Description of Work: Sam at Primary Painting & Drywall provided new drywall, mudding and priming for my basement remodel, approximately 45-50 sheets of drywall.

Excellent work. Repaired drywall in kitchen - walls and ceiling, dining room walls, living room ceiling, and bedroom ceiling. Sam was on time and very easy to work with. The work done was way beyond what we had paid for with the Deal. We offered to pay him for all of the extra time he spent (came back twice to sand and do 2 more coats) but he refused to accept anymore money. Great to work with.

An appointment was never made for an estimate. We had discussed the type of work needed, and that we were about two weeks out for giving an estimate. There was a text message sent with a phone number to contact the homeowner when we were available. At no time was there a time and date for an estimate set and we failed to be there.

After getting the coupon we contacted the drywaller. He came to our property and looked at the two areas we needed patching on. The primary location we needed he did not want to do because he said we would not be happy with the results. He wanted to do the entire ceiling instead. He then decided he would just do an area in our basement. We called to get it scheduled and had not heard back for a while. When we did reach him, he seemed hesitant to do the work when we spoke. He said he would call me back by 5pm Monday to get the work scheduled but he never called. I’ve decided to just refund the coupon instead.

This coupon had expired by six months when he called to schedule the work. I spoke to my Angie's list rep and they confirmed that he was not able to use it . The work that the coupon was purchased for was a ceiling in a bedroom that was repaired badly and had many defects, I explained that this work would take days to complete and could not be done for $99.00. I said he would not be happy with results because of the poor condition of the ceiling, he was asking us to patch a job that could not be patched and made to look like a finished product. I gave a price for the job and did not hear back. This customer only showed us one area to work on, the bedroom, not two as he states. After a number months went by, he called asking us to come back and look at another area that he wanted fixed and to use the same coupon. For this customer to give us an F rating for coming out to his job, giving a prompt estimate, and the best way to complete his job is unfair.

Sam was very professional, detailed oriented and considerate along with his staff. They finished some very rough work in two days and the end product looks great! They did everything from taping the floors to sweeping and swiffering everything when they were done. Sam even came back to review the work his staff completed before he would accept payment. Sam was even concerned about our pets! I would highly recommend him to anyone!!! GREAT BUSINESS!!!!!

Sam is awesome. He was available short notice to take care of some code items on a house we are selling. He brought in heaters to completely tape and mud a garage in a very cold garage so we can sell our house. The indoor patches are amazing. there is no way anyone could tell there were 4 inch holes cut in the ceilings. I would highly recommend and I will be using him in the future. No reason to look at anyone on the list. Oh and the price... AMAZING!!!!

The repair work they performed on our cracked walls was superb. We thought we would have to tear down the 100 year old plaster in several places around our house due to cracking. Primary Painting was able to make the walls look brand new, for much less cost. The work they did on installing our kitchen & living room drywall is flawless as well. They couldn't have done a better job. All of the employees were very polite, professional, and hard workers. They were even easy to talk to. Primary Painting & Drywall is a small business and they really provided excellent quality work at a competitive price.
Description of Work: I tore down the original plaster & lathe in my kitchen and living room. Primary Painting & Drywall installed new dry wall, covered up the seams and primed the drywall so they were ready for paint. They also repaired 20-30 cracks in my existing plaster & lathe throughout the house.

An absolute joy to work with. Sam is the consummate professional. Because of unexpected delays, the job was pushed back three times, but Sam accommodated the new schedule and arrived and finished exactly on schedule. His work was flawless, and he came back to do some touch-up due to construction accidents not his fault. He did not charge me for the touch up work. His estimate was also near the bottom of the group of estimates I received. We'll do some more remodeling in the future, and Primary Painting will be sure to do the work.

Sam came over within one day of our conversation. He looked over the job and suggested some additional things to do (insulation, painting) which we were interested in. He promised to call with the price quote the following day. We have not heard from him since. Very unprofessional. We were waiting for him before contacting other companies. I think we wasted valuable time in waiting for him. The experience started out good when he was able to come out with a day of my call but the ball got dropped.

We started a total remodel of our attic that included fixing the venting behind the insulation, replacing the insulation, framing new closets and storage areas, and hanging new drywall. We ran out of steam (and know-how) after getting most of the drywall hung, so we got a few estimates for finishing the job (and fixing some of our mistakes). Sam not only gave us the lowest estimate, but he inspired the most confidence of the people we talked to. Sam's communication up to and during the project was great, and the work he and his crew did was fantastic. Quick, clean, inexpensive and high quality. I'd definitely use them again.

Sam gave me an estimate mid November that was a little under 2 other estimates (about 15% less) and with his coupon and his apparent expertise I hired him. This particular wall has angles & higher ceilings with wood beams so I wanted to hire a competent & professional person. He probably is quite capable, but I question his professionalism for the reason explained below. I indicated I wanted the work done before Christmas, which Sam said would not be a problem. However, on Dec 18th he sent me the following email: We are on a project that is running 1st and 2nd shift four days of the week, it should last another 3-4 weeks. The scope of this job has gone from a small area to be worked on to the entire facility being painted. I hope this does not put it out too far for you, we would still like to do your project. Let me know what you think with a call or email. Even though I would have liked it done sooner, for the reasons noted above I replied that I could wait a month and to keep me informed. When I had not heard from him by mid January (3-4 weeks later) I reached out to see where he was at and he said two more weeks and he'd let me know by the end of the week when he'd schedule me. He didn't contact me so two weeks later I contacted him and was told 2 more weeks again. He once again didn't follow up so on Jan 29th I sent him an email reminding him that I had not heard from him. This time I got no response at all and became concerned as to his true intentions, and although I was a little irritated at this point I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Since the email I was expecting from him with a start date was now 2 weeks past due and I had already sent him a very friendly reminder email, I sent this email on Feb 5th: Hi Sam Are you still planning on doing our drywall project? I hope so because we've been very patient and I do not have anyone else lined up and we'd really like to get this done. Please let me know what the timeline is looking like as soon as possible. I know you are really busy, but I've been waiting since before the holidays. Any update would be much appreciated. to which he responded: By the wording in your email you seem upset with me for not be able to schedule you sooner. I am sorry, we have had many large projects come in all at the same time and are unable to breakaway. That being said, it may be better for you to get your project completed by another contractor from Angies List that has a more flexible timeline. I was flabbergasted. After stringing me along for over two months this was the response I got? I don't think I sounded overly upset in my email. A little irritated yes, but I think it was easier for him to put it on me instead of accepting responsibility for his lack of professionalism. He never indicated anything other than his desire & intention to complete my work. In fact, when he initially delayed my project he in no uncertain terms told me he wanted to do my project and basically asked me to wait a few weeks for him if at all possible. Sam's excuse for the delays was always ONE large project they were finishing up, and once that was done he would start my project. All of the sudden he says he had multiple large projects come in and that's why he couldn't start. I'm sorry...excuse me? I've been continuously baited to keep waiting by promising "2 more weeks" so if he was undertaking new projects & pushing me out even further then he should have at the very least told me that. He doesn't get to just take other jobs because they are bigger and pay more and put me off indefinitely. At least not without communicating that to me so that I could decide if I wanted to wait indefinitely. His actions were disrespectful and frankly inappropriate. I would like to know how many projects he started at my expense. My project was a smaller job so I think he took anything bigger first and planned on keeping me in his back pocket for as long as I'd put up with it.or until mine was his best option. Sam was very likeable, which is why I was so agreeable for so long. However, his actions were completely inappropriate. He commented that I seemed upset in my email. While arguably I was mildly irritated, I think I was necessarily direct and just trying to get a concrete response as to when my work would be completed. He probably interpreted it as me being upset because of a guilty conscience. It was a convenient excuse for him to end our dealings once he realized I wasn't going to be his pawn any longer. No doubt that now I am quite angry. After his email telling me to find a new provider, I actually sent him another email trying to salvage the relationship because I didn't want to have to post this kind of review. or have to go through the process of getting estimates again. He didn't even give me the courtesy of a response or attempt to provide me with any explanation for his actions. He didn't feel compelled to set the record straight? That speaks volumes and confirms my suspicions. What really cracks me up is this...if he is sooooo busy and can't do any other work at this time then why does he currently have coupons on Angie's List? I certainly hope he isn't promising to do any projects. Based upon how he dealt with me and what he said in his email, he should have a message up stating he "is not currently taking new customers" or informing prospective clients that he is unable to promise (or even estimate for that matter) a commencement date. I think it is more likely that he was less than honest in his dealings with me. If he would have been up front I would have moved on MONTHS AGO and had a completed wall. Now I have the pleasure of starting the process of finding a provider all over again. One of the most egregious violations by a provider I've experienced. Not good business karma!

I gave this homeowner an estimate for her project. We did not have a contract signed, a date set , or any other agreement, just an estimate. She did not accept my bid right away, she waited two weeks to contact me. I let her know that after getting my bid and waiting two weeks, that I was on a large project. At first she said that was ok, but then she sent me a hostile and condesending email. At that point I told her we were no longer willing to work on her project. The homeowner sent another email , demanding we take her project or she will post on Angie's list how bad of a company we are. This was a bullying tactic that she was using and I did not respod to her threat. Let me be clear, she did not hire, retain, or contract us in any way.We gave her a fair and timely estimate, that is all. I am not really sure what she is reviewing me on, she says herself that the estimate was the lowest, we came out right away and got back to her fast. This review process is meant for people to give a honest and true account of the facts, clearly not the case here.

It didn't happen. He called 20 minutes before he was to be onsite and said that he couldn't make it. His team was out sick.
Description of Work: I have tried to make appointments with this company. My husband flew home from his onsite location (money spent $$$$), we both took vacation ($$$$), boarded the dog ($), moved all the furniture out of the room to be worked upon, followed up with them, not them following up with me to confirm appointments. When the initial inspection date came, he stated that he really didn't want to do this 'coupon' for a Big Deal because he couldn't really complete a job in 3 hours and that Angie's List said that people would love it. Well, so far it hasn't materialized at all for me. I want a credit of the monies spent as I have spent far more money setting this up, for them to cancel 30 minutes before they were supposed to be onsite. I get it that things happen. I've spent WAY too much of my own time and money to get this started to have them cancel.

With this offer, the work is to be done at the time of inspection. This was the second time we had gone out to do the job, as she was not home on the first sheduled appointment (this costs us time also). We set a new appointment, the work was in various room. The project had major problems with the plaster and drywall, I explained that we could not possibly fix all this in three hours. I asked the homeowner what area she would like done and she would need to move a few items so we could have access. Due to her schedule these dates are days or weeks apart, we set a new date, on that day we had to reshedule due to illness. The homeowner chose not call us back for a new date. We had already used up two hours of three hour offer, and we were still available and willing to help correct the problems at the home.
