My house was built in 1925 and the kitchen had 2 layers of vinyl as well as a layer of particle board stapled to the hardwood. We pulled up 3/4 of the floor and thought the hardwood might be OK but needed advise. I found an ad on Craig's list and the Pena's came over the same evening and felt they could make it look new again. They came back the next morning and finished ripping up the remaining flooring and all those staples which is back breaking work. By the end of the day they had sanded it a few times returning it to a beautiful light maple. matching the dining room. It looked so good we decided to just cover with poly and forgo the finish. The next day they buffed and added the final coat of poly. I thought I would have to replace the floor and now have a really nice natural floor the same level as the adjoining rooms. Extravagant is a family owned business. The Pena's are very nice, honest people who are growing this business for their son. Word of mouth will accomplish this quickly. We took before and after photos they will be able to show you. I plan on having 2 bedrooms and my porch done later this month. It is nice to be able to work with a local family owned business that takes pride in their work and be trusted implicitly. Price was better than I found for local companies especially since they had to finish ripping up the rset of the old flooring. I couldn't be happier with the result or experience.
Description of Work: Existing layers of vinyl and particle board stapled to existing floor ripped up exposing original maple hardwood . Paper backing from vinyl still covered wood along with hundreds of staples. They ripped up the remaining flooring that we didn't have the energy to complete, sanded, buffed and applied several layers of poly returning the original hardwood to its original beauty.
