+ -1 moreowner is M.I.A and refuses to refund down payments even after he was contacted not once but twice by the Town of Cottage Grove Police Dept. He told the officer on 2 occasions he would send out the refund. both time the refund never showed up. The BBB has also tried to contact him and he has refused to reply. He keeps claiming he has COVID. Truck carrying materials continue to show up at his business address. Him and his emplyees have been spotted entering and leaving the business but keep the door locked and refuse to answer it.

+ -1 moreThey keep not showing up when they say they will. They don’t respond to most emails and don’t answer the phone. They are ignoring my request to return the deposit for work they appear to have no intention of doing. I think they just stole my deposit and I see I’m not alone.

We enjoyed good communication with the company from the initial visit, to the estimate, the scheduling of the work, and installation of the fence. Scott gave us a week's advance notice of when the crew would be working at our house. The crew members were professional, polite and hard working. They did a beautiful job on the fence and finished the work in the time that had been projected for the job. We would highly recommend Ideal Fence.

+ -1 moreAbsolutely terribly, do not even consider using this company.
Description of Work: Provider took money and fell out of contact for months. Was given several extensions to contract based on owner's health issues, but still failed to perform. Refused to return money when prompted. When contact could be made promised were made about completion date and that work would be finished regardless of the health of the owner. Work was not completed when promised. Trash, rocks, concrete chunks, cigarette butts, and other garbage left all over property. Had to hire a reputable contract to come finish the job and repair poor workmanship.

Description of Work: Provided failed to respond to repeated calls and emails once deposit check was cashed. Assuming business is fradulent or closed.

+ -1 moreI contacted provider to get an estimate for a privacy fence for my yard. I was contacted quickly and an appointment was set up for the following week. The day of the appointment I received a call at work that Scott was not able to make the appointment and wanted to reschedule. We rescheduled for the following week and no one ever showed up. I called the office prior to closing and left a message asking if anyone was coming. I never received any contact after that. Provider had my cell number, my work number and could have messaged me back via Angie's List. I consider no contact from provider to be unprofessional and therefore went with another fencing company. My sister met with Ideal Fence 2 weeks prior for an estimate for a privacy fence for her yard and after my experience will not be using Ideal to put in their fence either.
Description of Work: Nothing since I couldn't even get an estimate.

+ -1 moreThe day the 2 men came to install the fence it was raining which made it muddy and uncomfortable. They started to install the gate about 3 or 4 feet in front of the clothesline and I stopped them and said that my lawn service would not be able to get a riding lawn mower between the gate and the clothesline. They said that they put the gate where the boss told them to, but I said I'm not a fence builder and even I can tell you that this isn't right. I called the owner (Scott) and he wasn't in/didn't call me back. The next couple of days I called him numerous times and he never called me back. They put the gate where it shouldn't be and my lawn service has to mow the fenced in area with a regular lawn mower that you have to walk behind. Then later that summer, my lawn man asked me if I had noticed how the fence wasn't straight, it was wavy. Based on my previous experience of Scott not calling me back; I didn't try to call him again.
Description of Work: Had a 6 foot aluminum fence installed for my 2 mastiff's in the spring of 07.

+ -1 moreNo complaints about cost or quality of work. Only recommendation would be better communication regarding exact days crew would be working. The project took longer than anticipated to finish, however some of that may have been weather-related. They did respond to emails quickly and were able to answer whatever questions I had regarding the project promptly. I do appreciate they were able to install the fence this late in the fall, and their estimate was significantly less than other fence companies. Satisfied with project outcome and found them easy to work with.
Description of Work: Installed cedar fence with 2 gates around backyard.

Description of Work: I had a 4 foot tall fence installed behind my house to accommodate my two new rescue dogs. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Action Fence, from the office staff, to Dan my estimator, to the crew who actually installed the fence! I had an idea for a fence in mind when I first met with the Action Fence representative at my home, but Dan helped me understand all of the options available to enclose the area in question. With his guidance and suggestions, I was able to save several thousand dollars and ended up with a better AND cheaper solution for my needs! I had been concerned that having a fence installed would interfere with the aesthetics of my 90 year old bungalow; instead, the finished product looks like it has always been there and does not detract from the charm of the house. The staff was very sensitive to working with my existing landscaping and left my property immaculate. The work was done when it was promised and I was kept in the loop every step of the way. I would not hesitate to recommend this company!

+ -1 moreScott, the owner, came out to do the estimate and he was very personable. He gave me his personal cell phone number to call if I needed anything. Scott wanted to handle the transaction either with cash or check to avoid the charge card processing fee. They came out to put the posts in on the day I closed for me house; which was great. I realized he said the posts would have to set for a couple of days but there must have been a breakdown in communication because it was another week before they came and installed the rest of the fence. However, once it got installed it was very good but they led me to believe that they would be out to finish the job sooner than they actually were.
Description of Work: I used Ideal Fence to install a 5 foot privacy fence.
