Accent Decks & Additions

Randy was great. We met him at the home product fair and really like him. We had him come out and give us a deck design. We loved his design and were definitely considering getting it done, but in the end we decided a patio was better for our space (a deck would have only been a foot or so off the ground). I would highly recommend Randy. He was prompt to respond, get designs drawn up, and was super friendly and helpful.

We hired this company 5 years ago to build a large, custom, new deck. The job went fine and we were pleased with the final project. We then contacted Randy for a new deck project at our local cottage in 2010. I met with him and discussed ideas. He seemed confident in his ability to build the deck. We were not in a great hurry, so when Randy said several jobs were ahead of us, we let it slide. Job didn't begin in 2010. Fast forward one year later, spring 2011, I again followed up with Randy about starting the deck at the cottage. We met again, reviewed ideas and zoning obstacles (lake building is a challenge). Also wanted a privacy fence built ASAP so dogs invisible fencing could be installed. He said he would get right on it, and apologized for the lapse of time since we first met in 2010. We waited, and waited and waited. A meeting we had scheduled never happened. They said they tried to contact me to cancel the meeting but I never received a message. Randy then gave me his cell number. Thats when all communication stopped! All I was looking for was an update as to when the project could begin. I left numerous messages over a four week period on his cell as well as at the office... Nothing was returned. I suppose I didn't "get the message" because I had thought we developed a good working relationship having worked on our first deck. By luck, I got hold of him at the office weeks later. He said I shouldn't have called his cell phone because he never uses it! (so why did he give me that number??) He then said he was unable to help me with this project. And that was it. Its hard for me to give a company such a bad review, F, but I have never received such horrible service, or lack of follow up like this before. I would have found someone else if he had said he didnt want the job. I found Accent Deck and Additions to be dishonest and full of promises with zero results.
