+ -1 moreHad problems from the start. First the drain was flooding the floor when the sump pump drained, they put in a check valve.Then shower leaked into the basement. They came out and re-grouted, thought problem was solved. Aren't usually in basement when shower is in use, found shower was still leaking when a waste basket was placed under shower area and found it filling with water. Contacted Eric Vesel and he came out and said it's no longer under warranty.

+ -1 moreHad old garage torn down and new 3+ car garage built. Included removal of old foundation/slab and pouring of new slab. The owner (Eric) was easy to work with and things went generally well. My main issues were with workmanship - lots of exposed nails/staples due to framers missing the studs when putting on the sheathing, windows not evenly spaced, warped service door, poor alignment of downspouts. The framers didn't put up Tyvek on one side of the building (ran out?). When the siding crew showed up, they put siding up anyway. I bought these to Eric's attention and most were fixed. Since it's a garage, I let a few things slide. A few weeks after completion, we had some heavy rains. Both garage doors and the service had water leaking in. I emailed Eric twice about this, but received no response. Guess they didn't like me questioning their workmanship. I had kitchen/bathroom remodeling projects coming up. If things had gone better, I probably would have given them more business. After the lack of response, would not hire them again.

+ 0 moreFlashing on calling was preformed. I tried calling to set up appointment to get the rest done. Called no response. Emailed no response. I finally had to call the bbb to get an answer and was accused of being difficult and not letting them preform the work. I was called twice and was told I’m coming today. I work during the day and didn’t have anyone to let them in. I tried to set up an appointment to have someone to meet them. Don’t sign a contract with these people.

Eric was sensitive to my need to keep costs low; he made suggestions about ways I could save money as well as areas where it would be best not to cut corners (e.g., flooring). He also was the only contractor who made sure my existing structural issues were taken care of correctly before the work began so that I would not end up having to tear down any walls once the job was done. The project took just shy of 4 weeks. I was very happy with the Vesel crew as well as those he subcontracted with. My basement looks great. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the job, let alone with the cost.

+ -1 moreAfter several attempts to schedule, I eventually asked for a refund. I requested a refund on Nov 25, then again Dec 1, and again Dec17th On the 17th, they offered to send me a check for $50 - "I can mail you a check out for 50$ if that is what you are choosing. The other to was kept by Angie s list" I responded to that with: "Wow, so I have to get the rest of the money back from Angie's list? OK, so what other options do we have?" I never received a response to that email. They eventually sent me a check for $100 (the original price I paid was $119). At that point, I was too frustrated to fight for the last $19. All I wanted was my roof inspected/fixed. Not worth the hassle.

+ -1 moreEric came out for the inspection and quote and what he said finally made sense. He had a plan for eliminating our ice damming problem. I had gotten other quotes but liked Eric's solution and his product. We also decided to equip the gutters with leaf guards. The project included tearing off the existing roofs of our house and our detached garage. The job took longer than expected due to the need to replace most of the decking on the garage roof. The crew was efficient and respectful of our neighbors and us and cleaned up everyday. I would use them again (hopefully not on this house).

I am no better off than before his visit although $119 poorer. eric was very pleasant and professional. total time spent at my house was about 1/2 hr.

+ 0 moreI called Eric on Saturday August 9 in the morning. He said that he could stop out in a couple of hours. He came out to my house and inspected the garage roof. He quoted me a price that was quite a bit lower than any other company I had called. I told him that regular shingles would be fine, but he said that at the price he quoted he could put on dimensional shingles to match the house. He stated that they were doing a job less than a half mile away and that he could get the job done on Monday August 11. He said that he would send a couple of workers over in the morning and when they finished the other job there would be a few more coming over. Between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, he had 2 of his workers at the house starting the job. A few hours later, there were another 3 or 4 workers there to help finish up the job. When they were done they policed the yard to make sure that there were no shingles, nails or garbage left laying around. They also had a magnetic roller that they used to pick up any nails that might have gone astray. At approximately 2:30 Eric came by to have me sign the contract and take care of the bill. He said that the guys only had a little bit more to do and they would be done. The job took about 5 1/2 hours total. Eric is very professional and we had a couple conversations that were not work related. I would not hesitate in calling him again to have more work done by him.
Description of Work: Took all shingles and tar paper off of garage roof. Had tarps laid down so that shingles and nails would be contained. Replaced a few bad boards in roof. Laid down tar paper and put on dimensional shingles. Also put gutter apron on roof. Cleaned up after job was finished. Hauled away all shingles and garbage.

+ -1 moreI have a little back trouble and did not want to climb the roof, after some high wind damage in the Bohner's Lake area. I saw the ad on Angie's list for a roof inspection for $99. I was very impressed that the roof was inspected and repaired for a total of $99 and I was not preyed upon for further costs. This is an honest company to work with.
Description of Work: Inspect roof for any damage or needed repairs. Found a couple of nail pops, repaired and also caulked a couple of areas.

They said they could only guarantee 50% that they could replace the gutter toppers but he could sell me new one's for about $1100.00. The other companies had no problem with removing and replacing my existing gutter toppers. I felt he was trying to sell me something I didn't need.

+ 0 moreOverall it went well. Never having had a roof replaced before, I had no point of reference for quality/cost/or expectation of results. Eric is an honest contractor and works well with you to select the right roof, shingles, gutters, optional services, and works with your schedule for doing the job. The job was moved up in the schedule due to other customer cancellations, so the work was done well ahead of what we expected. The work crew was diligent to lay down plywood to avoid the trailer causing damage to the grass next to the driveway. The work progressed well and done with good attention to detail with good materials. Joe led the crew well and work was completed before the rains came. The roof and gutters look great and we have many compliments on the finished product. The areas for improvement include better estimating of total costs at the beginning of the process. We were quoted for tearing off 2 layers of shingles, but 3 layers were discovered and that tacked on $650 extra at the end of the job that wasn't anticipated. There were a lot nails found in the yard and driveway after the job was completed, so we requested another pass with the nail rake to pick up all the loose nails that we kept finding everywhere. So, if you are in need of a roof replacement or roof maintenance, I would definitely call Eric Vesel to quote your job, and if you decide to hire his team, you can be sure they will act in a professional manner at your home or business and put a nice roof on your building.
Description of Work: Purchased the $99.00 Roof Maintenance Package through Angie's List and ended up replacing my roof on the house and garage, complete with new gutters and downspouts. Complete tear-off of 3 layers of shingles and old gutters, old vents removed, new ridge vents installed, Owens Corning shingles installed.

He then left and we have tried to contact Vesel Services for the last two weeks to get him out to do the caulking and have heard nothing. We have tried to contact him via phone and email. We are now getting a refund for the Big Deal.

+ -1 moreBought a roof maintenance package through Angieslist Big Deals that included resealing and caulking and minor repairs,interior inspection and general maintenance($375 value). We did make and cancel appts. due to weather.He kept in touch through Angieslist messages. One nice morning he called and asked if he could come over in 45 min. as he was in the area. Wasn't thrilled as he was supposed to do an interior inspection also and I am a late riser,however I did agree.I requested he use the alley to access the property. He didn't and trespassed through my neighbors yard 90 ft. with his ladder.I pointed this out.He had nothing with him except the ladder.I asked how I would view any photos he would take and he said he could hook his phone up to my computer. I gave him my camera instead.He accessed the roof and descended within 7-8 min.I looked at the 4 pictures he took as he described the scope of work he recommended.He pointed out a gap in a gasket around my sewer stack and said his guys could do all the recommended repairs that afternoon. This was replace 4 roof vents and the boot around the plumbing vent. Coincidentally, all the work concerned the maintenance areas he should have addressed. I told him I needed to think about it but I would like him to caulk the gap. He said it wouldn't last and did his best to talk me out of it. I said please as it is the rainy season and it would give me time to consider his repairs. He went to his truck and rummaged around for quite some time,looking in one toolbox and then another and the back again when he produced a caulk gun. He went back up and came back down in 2 min.,threw the caulk gun on the grass and removed the ladder. The caulk was oozing on the grass so I assume he did it. He said he needed to go to his truck and came back with a bare bones estimate for the work he suggested, no details of any kind plus a grand total. He did drive around to retrieve his ladder. And that was that. I emailed to his website address and through Angieslist later the same day and asked for an explanation as to why the maintenance wasn't performed and have not heard back by day five. As he advertises free estimates and that was all I received,I requested a refund from Angieslist. I would be willing to give a max. of $5 for the caulk.

+ 6 moreOriginally met company/owner at NARI home show prior winter. Of the (3) quotes we obtained his was the lowest & included the most services. Owner/Eric was prompt with quote and very willing to answer our clarifying questions. Before signing contract we satisfactorily contacted (3) provided references. Because we couldn't decide on siding/trim color Eric was kind enough leave us w/ siding, trim & roof swatches so we could have decorator stop by match these best mixed/varied colored brick home. Weather caused a couple delays - but we understood that weather is a key factor with any outdoor project. Owner and workers were very friendly and willing to provide answer or explanation of how or why they were doing something. Most of our project updates were from Eric. Project site was always cleaned up at night. Any requests/questions we had were promptly addressed. He provided such great service and we are so happy with our completed garage & drive that when all was said and done it felt like a win-win situation for both of us. We would definitely use Vesel Services again.

Remove some dirt as 1950's garage concrete did not have much, if any, gravel base under it. Poured new footings, concrete slab, framed, sided & roofed new 2.5 car garage including soffits, gutters & eaves. Installed new garage door, garage door opener. Ran electric from house to detached garage. Handled all permits.

They cleaned up the job site and there was nothing left for me to do. I would use this company anytime in the future. I was overjoyed that is was so easy to work with this company. I was able to speak right to the owner and all my questions and concerns were addressed and answered in a professional manner before the job ever started. This is my go to company for anything in the future!

+ 0 moreThe above are areas I still have concerns over.I brought up issues in writing as they arose. Eric's resolutions only caused other issues. I have documentation, photos and video to substantiate my claims (doors, putty, crown molding, cold air return etc.) I feel I had to constantly be on my guard or things would have been missed or assumed okay as is. I repeatedly asked forall receipts and warranties for all materials (floor, patio door, 4 closet doors, solid back door and screen door). Eric gave me a warranty card for my patio door. When I called the companies 888 number, they told me they don’t make patio doors with blinds in them. When I called Eric he did not answer his phone. I am in the process of contacting other contractors for estimates to rectify the above errors. I have asked Eric for compensation for the above situations pending consultations from these “professionals” . He has not commented as he wishes to do the work himself. Given his history I don’t think this is a good idea.
Description of Work: Upon deciding what to do with this remodel, I drew pictures of the way I wanted the kitchen and cabinets to look like. The cabinets ordered were not what I drew. After Eric’s third failed attempt to finish the floor, I asked him to subcontract this job back to the flooring company I bought my floor from as they probably had more experience with these types of issues. I was told there are many areas of my floor where it does not lay as it should because Eric did not level the floor first and it is possible I may anticipate future problems with other planks where they are not level and/or where the floor still might have moisture under it. The cold air return vented to nowhere. There no ducting; there was no hole in the wall behind the cabinet. In Eric’s attempt to fix it there is now there is a five inch gap on the left side of the grate so air and dust can get under the cabinet. Why not “fan” the ducting to cover the entire CAR space on the toe kick? And it is not sheet metal. He said that the material he chose was all Menards had. The island is plumb with wall, but it crooked against the floor. There is a one inch difference between one side and the other. The lights above island are two different lengths. The crown molding was chipped away to accommodate a bubble in the ceiling instead of making the ceiling accommodate the crown molding. Eric installed a pocket door in the kitchen. I can see a buckle in the drywall where the end of the door would be. Eric used a “slab “of wood to make a door. He left it with a rough in feel and dry in color. I asked Eric to rehang that same half basement door as it was 1¾ inches off the floor. Now the door is 1 ½ inches off the floor on the L looking up and ¾ inches on the r looking up. The quarter-round trim going into the kitchen by the half wall is not attached. There is a 1 3/4 in gap under the closet door in the front hall. The closet doors he installed were supposed to slide not pull out. The stain on the back door does not match trim/cabinets. Three of the drawer pulls are crooked. There is a large chunk of wood missing on the bottom L corner of the cabinet above the refrigerator. My shelves were scratched with the drill. The putty is an off color there are many holes that remain without putty. The logo on the front of my dryer is missing. It took me 4 hours to clean and dust he created in my family room. Eric left my garage, driveway and lawn full of sawdust and wood. My patio blinds don’t work and I don’t even know who made them.
