I have used TK Mason twice, and I have the highest regard for the quality of their work, and their honesty. Recently, I found a problem with my chimney that I was prepared to spend thousands repairing. Since I already thought so highly of TK Mason, I was not even going to get a estimate from anyone else. TK Mason came out, examined my chimney, and reassured me that it was just cosmetic and nothing needed to be done.

Tony came out to give us an estimate and a time line. Work started and finished as promised. We were so very pleased with the workmanship! You can’t even tell there was a large hole in the block and the crack that ran from the ceiling to the middle of the wall was repaired perfectly. We would definitely hire Tony and his crew again.
Description of Work: There was a large running crack in our garage block wall plus a big hole made in one of the blocks used as a vent by previous owners that needed serious repair. Plus tuck-point all around the home.

Great. The estimate was quick, thorough - and while not cheap, came in below a couple of other estimates. They fit my small job in between bigger ones, and the crew did a fantastic job! Very satisfied with the whole process.

Excellent responsiveness from the time I first contacted Tony through the end of the project. The price was reasonable, and the quality very good. It is rare to find a contractor that is both good at their craft and really good with customers. I definitely recommend Tony.

I was very pleased and would definitely hire again. Tony was a pleasure to deal with. When I wrote through Angie's List requesting an estimate, he e-mailed me that evening stating he would come out within a few days, which he did. He accurately diagnosed the problem, and explained how he could fix it. He sent me his estimate the next day. The price was good. The quality of the work was excellent.

My experience with TK Mason was wonderful. They were very professional from the initial contact through completion of the job. I needed exterior loose bricks secured as well as repitching the exterior window sills. From my initial phone call to the onsite estimate, Tony was very prompt. The workers were very professional, hard working and detail oriented completing the job sooner than anticipated. I especially appreciated the great cleanup they did. I would totally recommend TK Mason for any masonry project.

Tony was one of the few contractors that even bothered to call back when I was looking for estimates. We discussed the work to be performed and he wrote the estimate with everything we discussed. He and his crew arrived on time and went straight to work. They did an excellent job and cleaned up when they were done. I highly recommend them.

We needed the lintels replaced on several of our windows and a few repaired. We also had some areas of the lannon stone that needed tuck pointing. From start to finish, we were very happy with the work and Tony's prompt responses to our inquiries. We received several quotes for the job and Tony's was comprehensive as well as priced competitively. The final product is exactly what we hoped for - the mortar matches the existing mortal well, the crews worked quickly and efficiently as well as cleaned up the work site after themselves, and our house looks great. What was most impressive was his and his crew's desire to ensure that we were satisfied with the job. He met all of our expectations and was willing to return to look at a few places that we thought might need additional work after they were finished with the job. We would not hesitate to hire TK Mason again for any job!

Tony was great to work with. He was the only mason of many who showed up for an estimate after the inspection prior to buying our home. Since that time he was very responsive via email and gave us a very thorough estimate of all things masonry that could use repair on our brick home. He was honest about what was urgent and what could wait for more wiggle room in our budget. When we had bad leaking in the attic he even came to our house to try and seal it as a temporary fix until it could be repaired in spring. At the time of the repairs he and his crew were on time, respectful, cleaned up after themselves, and got the job done fast. We definitely recommend TK Mason.

They dug down 1 foot along 3 sides of the building and replaced 6-7 courses of brick with 4" concrete masonry block. They then plastered the block exterior and coated it with foundation sealer. The dirt was filled back in and all debris removed. Although I was not present when the work was done, my wife could not say enough about how nice: how hard they worked; and how professional they were. I was very pleased with the outcome and would certainly not hesitate using TK Mason again.

Tony kept me informed via email as we went through the brick selection process and settled on a schedule. He and his team arrived on time each morning. They were very pleasant and hard working. The job site was orderly and secure at the end of each work day. The job was completed in the timeframe agreed upon and the work was beautifully done. We would definitely use TKMason again. Very pleased.
Description of Work: We had two chimneys rebuilt (one small chimney and a large double chimney for a two way fireplace). Tony was able to find a brick that matched the existing masonry (our home was built in 1952).

Tony and his crew did a great job, at a reasonable price, removing old concrete, regrading the area and installing correctly sloped section of sidewalk. They worked in the job between larger projects; were punctual and cleaned up meticulously. Tony even came over on a Sunday to do the final caulking. Very personable, honest guy with first-rate skills.

The quality of their work, professionalism and responsiveness to our questions and concerns was excellent. They arrived on time everyday and did a fabulous job of cleaning up after the work day. Because of our total satisfaction with this Tony and his crew we will be hiring them for additional work on a brick retaining wall. His price was fair and competitive. We have 22 units in our complex off of Lake Dr. in Milwaukee and will be using TK Mason LLC for all our future masonry work.
Description of Work: Tony and the crew at TK Masonry are some of the best contractors we have ever had for our condo association. We needed to replace over 35' of brick wall on the rear of one of our units and some minor tuckpointing to an adjacent building. The work included removing siding, window sills and lintels, adding vapor barrier, resetting brick siding using new brick and and wall ties, cleaning, priming and painting lintels, adding flashing and water weeps and basement lintels.

My job was reconstruction of a large home chimney after a section of its field stone cladding crashed to the ground. The field stone cladding on the chimney is part of a 70 year old house that is field stone, plaster, and cypress wood paneling—a large “English cottage. This hard-working chimney vents not only the heating system but three large wood-burning fireplaces. It’s original construction, like the rest of the house, was to the highest standard as we learned when we finally got a look at the chimney’s interior tile which had been assumed in four work quotes to need replacing but was found to be in perfect condition (being twice as thick as tile generally used in construction today). While it was important to identify the underlying problem and repair it, I was a nervous wreck thinking about the importance of a superb cosmetic result if the integrity of a beautiful house were to be maintained. In addition to diagnostic error about the source of the moisture that was damaging the field stone, four contractors insisted that the only way to rebuild the chimney was to take it down and rebuild it from scratch. Only Tony was comfortable with the option of retaining the sturdy sections of the fieldstone (with new tuck pointing) and, using the old stones and re-grinding mortar to restore the rest. My idea was that preserving existing stone work would maximize the match of the chimney to the facade of the house. I can imagine, however, that contractors feared that a two-part chimney would not match to itself —which would be worse than a chimney that did not match to the house. That Tony was calm about technical challenges was part of what inspired my confidence in his expertise- and he happily delivered on it. T In contrast to Tony’s precise, pragmatic, (and frugal) approach, I felt other quotes were overly speculative, imprecise and cost-adding. I see two aspects to this: Pragmatic sequencing of work. We tackled the masonry repair first which had no drawbacks and had two advantages. It reduced the potential that further sections of the cladding might collapse —including potential harm of falling rocks (large and heavy). The rocks had already damaged shingles and the oak railings of a sun deck—and could endanger humans. Once Tony’s scaffolding was up and the condition of the chimney could be visually investigated, he worked collaboratively with a heating contractor (who does chimney linings) to diagnosis the problem— which was exterior not a problem with the lining. 2) Confidence in skill adequate to the cosmetic goal. I cynically suspect that doing everything (as in new construction) indicates either lack of confidence or, perhaps, motivation, to be parsimonious. Working with Tony was aa pleasure. He kept me apprised daily of progress. The work proceeded without any interruptions except for bad weather days. Each day I enjoyed close-up photos. I was particularly fascinated to see the reconstructed chimney before the last mortaring. In the end, I got the chimney I hoped for— the chimney is itself coherent (old and “new”) and blends well with the house. There is a new concrete cap on the chimney that overhangs slightly to protect against moisture. On Tony’s business letterhead *used for his quote and his invoice) is a logo that is hard to see except when enlarged on a monitor. I laughed because inset into the logo is a field stone chimney such as my job called for. Perfect. I’m wondering if buyers get their own customized stationary! I enthusiastically recommend this contractor for the easy jobs—and for the hard ones and to serve both high standards and value for money.
