PM Construction and Restoration LLC

My husband and I had received 5 quotes on our roof, gutters and some windows, although Doug (sales person) was somewhat aggressive while talking at our table he stood up and starting yelling about another contractor’s advice to us about the Atlas shingles, they were not the lowest but were in the ball park. They were the last quote I received and we proceeded to go with them due to the warranty on the shingles and a higher rating. All of the work was supposed to be done in a time frame that was listed on the contract. I called the week before to verify and per the office it was supposed to start on Monday July 24 (most of the roofing materials were delivered on Friday) and if that was to change we were supposed to be notified. We got everything moved out of the way and all ready for them and no one showed and we did not receive a call that anything had changed, I called at about 9:00 am to see what was going on and apparently the date had changed to Tuesday. So Tuesday morning the roofing crew showed up and were very fast in removing the bad shingles however we were told and is stated in the quote that all of the bushes and plants would be covered and they were not and they just threw everything off the roof on to our bushes and plants around the house. With the crew being so efficient they started putting the gutter apron on and apparently not knowing we were also getting new gutters, then proceeded to start putting down the under lament, again not knowing that boards needed to be replaced. So the communication at the very beginning of the job was extremely poor. I called about the missing supplies, not being real happy about all of the above and tensions running high one of the owners, Justin called me back and when I asked about everything that had and was going wrong in our minds as no one explained anything to us he told me that none of it was any of my business, that we were not allowed to talk to the workers, watch them or explain to them what was supposed to be done, my husband was watching everything and we have dogs and the constant banging on the roof made one of them really upset so they needed to go out as well, he would not let me talk, I had to interrupt him to let him know I was the customer, it is my house and my money that I have every right to know. At the end of a very bad conversation I was hung up on and he was refusing to fulfill the contract and would not do the windows. Regardless of any situation, it is really bad business to hang up on customers and refused to fulfill the contract, they only did the roof and Gutters. I had to consult with a lawyer on what to do as this was a breach of contract, however since we no longer wanted to do any kind of business with them no letter was sent to right to cure. Bottom line is that the communication at this company is extremely poor and at least one of the owners needs to understand who is paying his salary and word of mouth spreads very fast in small towns. They lost two additional jobs due to what happened with us, also I cannot find that PM Construction and Restoration is registered with the BBB, PM Masonry is, the main part of their business. Bottom line Jessica Olsen, the receptionist is Great, kind, nice and understanding to work with, the crew that did our roof did an outstanding job and it looks great as well as the guy that did the gutters (subcontractors) as far as the management (owners) of this company, I would not recommend them to anyone that I know looking for a roof to be done or anything else that they would do. The only reason for a two star is because of the subcontractors doing such a great job! Aug 1, 2017
