Extremely well. Matt and his crew were very professional and helpful. The work was done in WI and I live in IL but even with the distance Matt kept me informed every step of the way and sent pictures on the progress. All debris was removed and the cleanup that was done was amazing. Most amazing was the new bathroom, I could not be happier and I will be calling Matt again in the fall for more work that I need done. You can tell that Matt takes pride in his work and I highly recommend his company. I do not have any negatives to write about.

We were very happy with our basement remodeling project performed by Matt and his crew at MH Renovations. What you see is what you get when it comes to Matt. He is an honest and hardworking individual who will see your project through to the end. Prior to starting this project, we had absolutely no experience in the world of home renovations and we did not know quite what to expect. Matt walked us through each step of the process and educated us along the way. We became connected with Matt in 2014 through mere happenstance well before we ever knew what his profession was. I had responded to a Craigslist ad in hopes of purchasing a custom built Lego table for our children as a Christmas gift. The man building these tables was Matt. Over the course of a few weeks in the midst of our correspondence, our 2 year old son was diagnosed with cancer. Needless to say, we did not follow through with purchasing a table at that time. When he learned of our circumstances, his next move would instantly show us what a kind, generous, and good human being he was. Despite the fact that he had never met us in person, he built, donated, and delivered a hand-crafted Lego table to our son in the midst of his battle with cancer. Through that encounter, we learned that Matt owned a contracting business. We promised ourselves that Matt would be the first person we called when we were ready to look into finishing our basement - a project that was on our "home-owner wish list". Three years later we followed through on that promise and we called Matt. From the very first phone call until the last piece of the project was complete, Matt impressed us. We initially called Matt in the fall of 2017. He came out to our house in a timely manner and spent a significant amount of time drawing up plans and creating a detailed and itemized quote. He worked with us on various aspects of the proposal to create plans and drawings that fit both our existing space as well as our desires. Matt is truly an engineer who thinks outside of the box to come up with solutions that are both practical and efficient. We had to work around certain existing structures that made the design aspect tricky at times. Matt came up with great ideas to incorporate these aspects inconspicuously into the plans. We would be foolish as consumers to not seek additional estimates, therefore, we had two other contractors out to our home. Matt exceeded our expectations and blew the other two contractors out of the water when comparing design ideas, price/budget, as well as his overall responsiveness and effort put forth. All of the work done up until this point was free of charge. Matt had put in a great deal of time into his estimate and plans despite not even knowing if we would choose to work with him. His efforts paid off as we chose MH Renovations. In the weeks to follow Matt was extremely diligent in keeping in touch as he finalized plans and timelines. He was very accessible via text, phone or email and responded in a timely manner. At times Matt contacted us more than we contacted him. He would call with questions, information, and reminders on appointments. It was so refreshing! Matt was always on time and courteous in regards to respecting and working with our schedules. In March 2017 MH Renovations began framing the basement out. The framer (Trygve) was an absolute craftsman and Matt works exclusively with Trygve for this portion of his projects. Trygve worked tirelessly over the course of the next week to frame the entire basement. He would later return to complete all of the trim work needed throughout the basement which is beautiful and near perfection. Drywall was the next step. Matt warned us that drywall was a messy and somewhat unpleasant part of process. He was right. He got a crew in and out to complete the process as painlessly and as quickly as possible. The following weeks involved work with many different contractors to address plumbing, electric/lighting, and HVAC needs. Even during this phase Matt was often present and made daily visits to the job site. Matt has both a plumber and an electrician that he works exclusively with throughout all of his jobs. This put us at ease and made us feel comfortable allowing these sub contractors to come and go as they pleased even when we were not home. Can lighting, outlets, heating/AC vents and plumbing were on their way. Matt went the extra mile to add a few extra vents and can lights as the process was underway as he thought the space warranted them. He did this at no charge to us. We also encountered a plumbing issue along the way involving the our home's original drainage pipes. Matt and the plumber trouble-shot to give us several options to address the issue. The transparency in dealing with changes along the way was incredible. Whenever a change was made - we received updated paperwork reflecting the changes and the subsequent price adjustments so that we could keep tabs on where we were at with the budget. Next came the fun part - the finishes. Matt did a great job of presenting options to us from vendors that he worked regularly to assist with choosing cabinets, bathroom fixtures, wood stain colors, door choices, flooring options, and hardware. Despite offering us options that he was familiar with, he was also open to entertaining any outside options that we were interested in pursuing. For example, we debated about several shower options for our bathroom. The space was unique and the shower choices were somewhat limited. He spent several hours researching some of the options we asked about in order to help guide us toward a choice that would work best. We learned quickly that it is easy to get carried away in the midst of a renovation project in regards to spending. Matt did a wonderful job of keeping us grounded in our choices and being honest about how certain choices would dramatically change the bottom line price. Matt continued to stay one step ahead of us in all the planning and coordinating that went into the project. He had a great ability to formulate and maintain a schedule, thus keeping him within the proposed timeline, while still allowing us to make changes. At the 11th hour, we changed our mind on a cabinet configuration for our kitchen area and Matt made it happen for us. He was patient and understanding as we learned to navigate our way through this process. Flooring, paint and countertops were next on the docket. MH renovations does hard surface flooring, but not carpet. We used an independent carpet provider for the majority of our flooring needs. For the bathroom, Matt brought over various tile samples to choose from. His tile and grout work were great and we love how the floor turned out. The last flooring area was our workout space. Matt was used to working with a certain brand of foam tiles which at first we agreed to use. However, after doing some research, we decided that we wanted to go with a gym-grade flooring product with better shock absorption. We found this at a WI -based company in Milltown, WI. The only catch was that we were on a timeline and could not have it delivered to meet the deadline. We also did not have an appropriate vehicle to be able to pick it up ourselves. Matt took his own truck, picked up the flooring mats for us with the help of a colleague, and delivered them to the house. It was another example of how Matt is willing to go above and beyond to make the customer happy. The installation of counter-tops was an interesting hiccup in the process. Matt had long worked with a granite company that previously he had been very happy with. Following our granite installation, we noted that a large piece of granite was not supported with the appropriate brackets and thus presented a large safety concern. Unfortunately, the granite company denied any additional responsibility and despite Matt's best efforts to continually contact them, they refused to rectify the situation. Matt did not take this lightly. He researched the national natural stone governing body standards and verified that the granite slab indeed needed additional supports to adhere to safety standards. Matt met with several other granite companies in the days to follow and forged new ties with a company that also placed safety and quality as a priority. The company quickly sent out several employees to fix the situation. Since that time, Matt now works exclusively with this new company and has been extremely satisfied and impressed with their services and products. Painting was completed leaving just the finishing touches remaining. Matt instructed us to go through the basement and write down anything we saw that we thought needed to be addressed. We were very thorough in this task. He addressed each concern. In addition, Matt helped us with some tasks that we hadn't conceptualized initially, but that were outside of our abilities such as hanging and wiring our TVs. Our project was completed within the expected timeframe with very few delays. Matt provided us with a final itemized invoice. He took the time to go through it with us line by line and worked with us in regards to any questions that came up. There were very few surprises as MH Renovations provided us with ongoing invoices reflecting changes along the way. In the weeks following the completion of the basement project, several questions arose after-the-fact and Matt responded to us just as quickly as when we were initially getting an estimate or when we were in the throes of the project. We have since referred multiple people to MH Renovations and know that in choosing Matt, they will have an equally positive experience. I spoke with Matt the other day to relay to him how much we are enjoying our new space. He truly made a vision become a reality. We are thankful to have crossed paths with Matt and to have formed a good working relationship with him.

We needed some work done on our mudroom and bathroom in our home. After a very large renovation the MH Renovations did to our kitchen/family room/laundry, we wanted everything to flow nicely. They removed the old mudroom and full bath, matched everything perfectly (down to finding the same lot of tile one year later) and even built a utility/dog shower for our newest member of the family. The highlight of the project was the custom built lockers/cubbies Matt's team built and installed. They serve us well daily, and they were our best option after months of looking at retail options. They are perfect. MH Renovations is our go-to contractors.

We had several contractors come to our house to give us a quote. When Matt came over, we immediately liked him. When he left, I said “I wouldn’t mind having him in our house.” Not only was he extremely nice and polite, he had great ideas and suggestions, and pictures of quality work he had done. The whole time Matt was on the job, he was always prompt, polite, friendly, worked hard, and did top notch work! He always kept us informed on what had been completed for the day and what was coming up. We feel Matt was an excellent choice and did excellent work! We couldn’t be more pleased. Matt went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to our liking. Our remodel project turned out beautiful, and we get so many compliments! Thank you Matt!

Matt is always very responsive when we need repairs. He scheduled the estimate and then promptly did the windows when they came in. We love them and will have him do the rest of the house within the next year.

It went very well, from start to finish. Was quoted a week and that is what it took to complete. Very professional,very friendly, on time, on budget. Even did a couple of items not on original quote. Folks I worked with had work done with Matt and they loved his company’s work, that’s how I got Matt’s contact information. I am very please. I plan to remodel my second bath next year, and will be calling Matt for the work.

Everything went really well! Matt is a really good communicator (email, phone, text) and was really easy to work with. The company coordinated with subs, who were great and flexible to address unforeseen conditions in our old house. We're extremely satisfied with the final work product! Everything looks great!

Matt and his crew completed several projects for me between October 2017 and January 2018. The most extensive was a complete bathroom remodel, replacing plumbing (including installing a cast iron tub), laying floor, wall, shower & tub tile, and installing a vent fan/light over the shower/tub. Other work completed included locating and sealing a roof leak, repairing water damage to plaster walls and ceilings in a bedroom and kitchen, replacing a support beam for back door landing, framing and enclosing the basement stairs and stairwell. Communication between me, Matt and the crew was amazing. The crew came to work as scheduled, their workmanship and professionalism was exceptional. I will definitely hire again!

Everything went as explained by Matt. He and his crew were excellent and very professional. The new room ended up looking like it had always been there and matched every doorway in the hall. I never thought I would end a home project and end up liking my contractor, but we did. We look forward to hiring these guys for our upcoming projects. Would highly recommend and would say they deserve your confidence. They won't leave until you are happy with the job. Contractors of this caliber are hard to find and we are thrilled we found Matt!

We hired Matt and his team to do a full bathroom remodel. Our main bathroom space is very small with limited ability to expand. Matt took our basic ideas and worked to come up with a new design that would increase space and still be within code. He was very friendly and helpful through the entire process. There were some areas where we had some very specific design goals in mind and Matt worked extremely hard to make sure we were always pleased with the end result. The remodel involved removing an old unused chimney to free up space and when an unforeseen issue arose with some built up soot being released into our basement, Matt very quickly and professionally worked to clean and resolve the situation. The job was completed in a timely manner and with minimal interruption to our daily routine. Matt always kept us updated with what they had accomplished and what they would be doing next. The initial quote was very reasonable, and through the entire job, MH held to their original price, aside from a few items that we specifically asked to have added. The end result is we couldn't be happier with our new bathroom. MH maximized our small space and gave us a bathroom we can be proud of. We've already contacted Matt about additional projects and are happy to recommend MH Renovations to anyone who is looking for a quality, competitive contractor who takes good care of their customers and seems to genuinely appreciate your business. First of all, Matt is very easy to work with. He communicated effectively. He helped us to define the project scope and the responsibilities of each party. Second, We have the freedom of selecting materials within the scope. He provided the detailed quote. We decided to upgrade bath tub, sinks and etc. at our cost. We provided our proposal. He replied the email promptly so that we can quickly finalize all materials and contract. The quality of construction is good. Matt almost came every day and communicated tomorrow’s plan. The project went smoothly and on time without any extra cost. We are happy to have MH Renovations to remodel both bathrooms. Both bathrooms look very modern and pleasant.

MH Restoration is hands down the best around. Matt and his team are true professionals, dedicated to detail and true craftsman. They are honest and do what they say while taking every effort to ensure the customer is completely satisfied. Excellent. Matt is an excellent communicator and is very responsive to subtle changes and modifications as the project progressed. He also made sure the project was kept on time. We never had a day when someone (Matt, his tiler, the electrician, the plumber, etc...) wasn't making great progress.

Very well! MH Renovations is wonderful to do business with. Their workmanship from the beginning to the end was quality. Our basement was framed, drywalled, electrical work ran throughout and painted all done in a month as promised. Matt and his entire team were professional, polite and friendly always. Calls/e-mails answered very promptly when we had questions. We are only a bit unhappy with the quality of paint used (Dutch Boy). It is to thin and cannot take any kind of hit without leaving a mark/fading or chipping. But over-all. We are so glad we chose MH Renovations to finish our basement!

These guys were great from my first phone call through their job site cleanup. They promptly gave me a quote. They did the whole project in 1 day with great efficiency. They were very mindful of my neighbors and when they left you never knew they were here (except for the beautiful new roof!)

If possible I would give MH Renovations a better grade than Excellent!! Based on other great reviews on Angie's list I contacted MH Renovations. I was impressed with Matt from the moment we first met to discuss the project. I have an older home with many hidden problems and he had the technical knowledge and craftsmanship to complete the project beautifully and on quote. During the project Matt and Ryan explained their approach... I'm sure some contractors would have skipped a few of the steps that insured the project's success. I would highly recommend MH Renovations. I'm already planning some other projects for them. Give Matt a call you will be glad you did.
