About us

The difference is in the details. I assess problems and I find solutions or I don't take the job. If I can't solve the problem, I'll tell you. My background in energy efficiency is important for roofing, windows, siding and insulation. I'm the only guy around that does gutters and has flood water management experience and that has saved some of my customers thousands in costly basement repair work. My ventilation certification helps to minimize ice dams and can reduce your summer cooling bills. I'm happy to share my insight with my customers. Give us a call to set up an appointment.

We never even met you. In a 2 minute phone conversation you said that you wanted someone young to come out and pound the nails holding your gutters back in. We do not offer that service. Not only do we not secure gutters with nails, but a nailed in gutter isn't even repairable to todays standards. You contacted us and we extended the courtesy to answer your questions.

Description of Work: Roof replacement on a property with long-ignored water issues. Removal of half-wall railing, siding reclamation and restoration, complete removal/replacement of 750 sq feet of flat roof on an attached garage, new deckingn re-pitched with new gutters. Huge project.

Description of Work: Our three car 1926 stand alone garage was re-roofed. Energy Master removed 3 layers of shingles, replaced rotten boards, installed synthetic underlayment and 30 year shingles and replaced the old gutter. |The work was done in one day by a well organized hard working crew with owner Jim McGuigan supervising and advising as needed. Great care was taken with our gravel driveway and trees and plants and clean-up. |We are very satisfied with our new roof and the work done by Energy Masters and would highly recommend Jim McGuigan, the professional and friendly owner.

Description of Work: My wife has been a member of Angie's list for some time. On 9/18/15 I called Angie's List and asked for a list of gutter companies in our area. I called one of the companies whose telephone number I was provided by Angie's List, Energy Masters, and talked to an individual who identified himself as "Jim" the owner of the company. I explained my problem and "Jim" discussed how busy he was. I was willing to wait in order to obtain an estimate as my situation was not an emergency and the company was highly recommended on Angie's List. "Jim" told me the earliest he could come out was on 11/09/15 @ 6:00 PM. As my situation was not an emergency I accepted the date and time. "Jim" called me on 11/08/15 and asked if the time could be moved up as it would be dark at 6:00 PM and he would not be able to see the gutters. I informed "Jim" that my wife and I had already made arrangements to meet with friends of ours from another state but we could move the time up to 5:00 PM and if he wanted to he could come a little earlier to look over the gutters and we could discuss the matter and his recommendation when we arrived. "Jim" stated this was acceptable. | |In order to ensure we would be home in time for "Jim" we shortened our visit with our friends. My wife and I arrived home @ 4:48 PM. "Jim" was not @ our home. My wife and I waited for "Jim" or a phone call from him. Eventually my wife decided to get some carry out from a local restaurant. My wife and I were eating dinner when "Jim" called at 5:45 PM and asked that I turn the porch lights on and off so he could locate our house. When "Jim" came in I informed him that we have been home since 4:48 PM and that as he told us he wanted to start the appointment @ 5:00 PM we were not getting off on a good foot. At this point "Jim" stated he agreed we were not getting off on a good foot as he wanted to have the appointment scheduled during daylight savings time and not on a Sunday. As I had no control over when the appointment was scheduled, and if I had I would have scheduled it much sooner, I informed "Jim" that our meeting was concluded. | |My wife and I, like most individuals, are busy trying to survive and earn a living. We both work two jobs and work 6 to 7 days a week. We do not have the luxury of having our time wasted by rude individuals. If you do call "Jim". | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

I'm sorry that you're upset, but the reason I left your home without leaving you an estimate was that you chose to scold me immediately after I arrived within the agreed upon time to your home. Because you spend time at your vacation home on the weekends, you demanded we meet on Sunday night. I accommodated your schedule on my family day and was anticipating a different reaction than the demand that I address you by your title of "Doctor". I extend courtesy and manners to all of my customers and always treat everyone as my equal. I am happy to do work for people who I feel share my ethics and values. Although we have a very different interpretation of our appointment which lasted less than one minute, I hope you found a contractor that met your needs.

Jim's crew were great. They were punctual, efficient and got the job done without incident. A new roof was completed in basically 1-1/2 days. Jim's crew cleaned everything up and did a great job. Jim himself was very responsive to all my questions concerning roof/gutter replacement and believe me I had a lot of concerns and questions. I think his best advise was "don't be home", anything that we find that isn't right we can fix! Gutter replacement went without a hitch. Also done in a day. No mess left they look great and are functioning well in keeping water from coming in between gutter and roof causing water in basement. I would give Jim and his hard working crew a big thumbs up!

All the details and options were explained by the owner before we received the estimate. The crew arrived promptly, at the estimated time. They did a superb job. The roofing was completed in one day, in spite of a rain delay. The roof looks great. A couple days afterwards, the owner conducted a walk-around, explaining in detail the work that was completed. We would definitely recommend this company.

Jim made an amazingly fast appointment with me that fit around my schedule to get an estimate on my basement windows. Jim explained all the possible options and costs associated with them. It was a nice conversation because he doesn?t try to up sell you or manipulate the estimate because he is honest and fair, he wants what?s best for you and your home. The prices were comparable or lower than any other company in the greater Milwaukee area. The day of the install a crew of 2 showed up on time and was very professional and courteous. They explained the work and were very careful in our home. The windows are gorgeous! It makes the basement look great.... it?s so bright in the basement now, I love it!
