They're a good distributor and service provider. That's why I chose them. They always provide good service and follow-up.

We already knew what we wanted, because one of our friends had a door that we liked. We were buying the most expensive door, and it is good quality. They did everything well, however, when they installed the patio door, they left a plastic in it, and it messed it up. I tried to fix it myself, and I couldn't so I called them, and they said that the carpenter didn't fix it well. They sent someone over to fix it, and then he told us the problem.

My experience with them on a scale of one to ten is a minus ten. It was really bad. First of all it took over a year and a half to get it right. The first door that came the paint was stuck to the cardboard box. The second door they put on the outer portion that is exposed outside was actually separating form the door itself, the panel that they would paint on the outside of the door, that section was pealing away from the door and just lifting up. They had the mutton bars that go across the window reversed with the white part on the interior and the wood grain on the exterior. The door was supposed to come in composite because I specifically told them I did not want wood, but they had it made in wood. When they put the door in I discovered that the whole outside frame was unfinished and unpainted wood. Overall the get F on every thing. They were very rude. I would never use them again.

I would not recommend them to anyone. They initially came to install windows on December 27 and 28 of last year. They ended up not having enough wood. There were 5 windows in my family room. They were able to put the window frame around 2 of them, but there was not enough wood for 3 of them. There were 3 windows upstairs that were painted frames, and they had only enough for 1 1/2 of those windows. There was a piece of wood upstairs that was cracked and needed to be replaced. When they came back to fix that, they brought the wrong size piece. When they put the windows in downstairs, they had 3 different colors of stain on the window frame and sash. They came back in February to finish the framing. They brought the wrong color. Last week I gave an approval of the color and they have put that in. I did write to Pella in Iowa. I got a computer generated letter back. It left me feeling very cold as if they didn't care. I wouldn't recommend. They were very expensive. I am sure if I would have went to a big box store, I would have probably gotten them for a lot less. The quality of the installation was terrible. They sub-contract out for the installation.

Verhalen Inc's estimate was fine. The scheduling went well. We had several leaking issues after the installation and their follow-up was extremely poor.
