The service is always good. The technician is always the same person and he is punctual, efficient and very pleasant. He also comes in the Spring for our maintenance on our air conditioner.

I was extremely happy with the service that I received from Gross Heating. During the last cold snap, the furnace at my rental unit died. The technician that came out was able to get it working temporary, but said that it was only a matter of days, so I immediately scheduled an estimate for the following week. Sure enough, it died again within three days. The estimater had given me his cell phone, and when I called him after hours, he rearranged his next morinings schedule to be at the rental unit first thing for an estimate. Although we already had enough space heaters, he offered to borrow heaters to me to keep the renters warm. He gave me a couple of different options that fit the need and budget. The new furnace was ordered and installed within a couple of days. The city inspector even mentioned how this company has been around for a long time and that he always sees good work out of them. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

Overall, extremely pleased with Gross HVAC. The estimator arrived on time on the day of my appointment and was extremely polite, efficient and helpful in explaining all of our options. The only issue I had was being told that I could expect the installers between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. When they had not arrived by 8:15, I called the shop and was told that they were not there. The installers eventually arrived at 8:45. They did a great job once they were here and were very polite and left the house as clean as it was when they arrived.

our furnace stopped working at 10:30 on a below zero Sunday night. They were the 4th place we called. The others either didn't respond or couldn't help us out. They returned our message in 5 minutes, came out, assessed the problem, came out in the middle of the night to get the furnace running temporarily, and were able to do the full and very major repair the next day. Luckily the new part and work was covered by the mfg, so we only paid $200 for the emergency visit (one full hour of service) and less than $50 for a minor part not covered bt warranty. Everyone we dealt with was fantastic. We will go them for all our future furnace work.

Jeff from Gross came on Nov. 11 to prepare a bid for the project. The bid had 3 options at different prices for me to choose from. He took time to explain what work Gross would do and why. The resulting bid was comparable with bids I got from 2 other contractors, but the one of the others suggested there might be additional costs for an electrician and the other would have installed a brand of furnace I wasn't comfortable with. Also the sales reps from the other 2 companies didn't go into as much detail as Jeff did. The 2 installers from Gross arrived on time on Dec. 12 (a very cold day). They covered all carpeted areas they would be walking on with canvas tarps. Later an electrician arrived to do some wiring work. By 3 pm the new unit was installed and the furnace was running. They replaced the air ducts closest to the furnace and re-installed my humidifier in a more convenient place. They removed everything from the old unit and cleaned up the area around the new unit. One of the installers programmed the new thermostat for me and showed me how to use and reprogram it. There have been no problems with the furnace since they left. They said that due to the extremely cold weather that day some concrete patching they did outside might not set up very well, but they said they would redo it in the spring if I wanted. The job was done in a professional manner and with minimum inconvenience to me.

I used the website to request a quote on Friday, and received a telephone call back withing minutes. Set up appointment for the following Monday. The sales rep arrived on time and was friendly and knowledgable, and quoted me three options. Price was right, and I accepted one of the options. They were able to schedule the install for the next day (Tuesday), which was great, since the old furnace was really on it's last legs. We asked that they delay starting work until a half hour after their normal start time. No problem. I called in to the sales rep early Tuesday to make a change in my order (changed from a 60,000 to 80,000 BTU unit) and again, no problem. Installation went smoothly, and they left the work area cleaner than when they arrived.

They were responsive. The Gross Heating rep arrived on time to evaluate the home and promptly provided the quote. I did not proceed with them as I got better pricing from another provider. They were my second choice.

2 new furnaces and it went perfect.

We liked that the cost was good. They were reliable, and we found them by word-of-mouth. The work they did was great.

The crew doing the work was very professional and helpful. Scheduling was always very well communicated and prompt with appointments.

I was impressed my the representative who visited us and provided the proposal. We decided to use another firm because the actual proposal we received from them for the same work provided much more detail.

Since we tore down half of the drywall on the 1st floor of our house, we figured it would be a good time run a few additional heating ducts to the 2nd floor since the heating up there was very weak. Unfortunately, all of the ducts they initially installed had to be re-done. We had a floorplan for our new kitchen taped on the floor, yet they ignored the tape and ran the first duct right though two kitchen cabinets. When the inspector came to look at the electrical work, he informed me that we needed 3/4" Styrofoam insulation behind this duct since it was on an exterior wall. The inspector made it sound like it was standard practice. The insulation seems like a good idea to me, but I was disappointed that Gross did not think to install insulation before installing ducts, or tell me to install insulation before putting up the duct. I removed the duct, put in the insulation, then re-installed the duct myself since our insulation contractor didn't want to deal with the duct work and the insulation inspection was the following day. We agreed to let Gross run another duct through a 1st floor closet and up to the second floor. This would prevent us from having to remove more drywall. For whatever reason, they ran the duct through the front of the closet partially blocking the closet door. Ducts are to be hidden, not right in the way in plain view blocking doorways!!! I had to repair the hardwood floor myself where they cut a hole the first time. They also cut a 2 X 2 foot access hole in the drywall in the master bedroom. They didn't inform me that this was going to be necessary, so I was surprised to come home to a new hole in the wall. I would have appreciated a call before they started making new holes in wall that I would have to fix. The third duct was located in the basement. Again, they didn't look at the floorplan we had taped to floor. They ran duct work right through the center of our kitchen sink drain. They never thought to call and ask me when they had any questions but every duct they installed that day was not well thought out. I told other contractors on the job about our duct issues and three of them all said something to the effect of, "I know Gross, they are a good company, I'm really surprised they did such a bad job on the duct work." Alan, the owner, did not fight me for the re-work. They came out quickly and moved the ducts that needed to be moved. I still have a hole in the drywall to deal with. They were very friendly and they always showed up when they said they would. Unfortunately, they did not treat my home as if it were their own, and that is how I judge contractors. As a result, I will not be using Gross in the future.

He did repairs on it and now it is working properly. I liked that he was on time. He gave me a list of things I should be aware of with my AC unit. I plan on using him again in the future.

Gross Heating and Air Condition did not perform the work. The company I went with was the low bid. Gross was a close second. However, I would not hesitate to contact them again. They were prompt, courteous, and thorough. With the benefit of hindsight I wish I had gone with Gross - given how things went with the low bid company.

We went with Gross on the recommendations of others from Angie's List and we are very pleased with the outcome. Since we built our house in 1989, our heating and AC system had been underperforming. Jeff, the salesman from Gross, told us it was a builder's grade and not powerful enough to heat and cool all corners of the house. This time we purchased the big (and yes, it is big) Carrier Infinity unit and it does the job much better and is much more efficient. We can leave it four to five degrees higher than the old system and be perfectly comfortable on the hottest days. Chris and his installation crew did a great job. However, because this unit is bigger and more efficient, two noisy vents had to be dealt with so Gross sent Jerry, the expert troubleshooter, out to deal with them. Jerry figured out the problems from the preexisting vents and fixed them to our complete satisfaction. Everyone at Gross was very professional and pleasant to deal with and they will make sure that the customer is completely satisfied. A company is only as good as the people who work there and they have a great crew.

We have used them for years and we have been satisfied with them. We took a bid from somebody else for a new furnace because of a better warranty, but the amount process was the same. We have had them do repair for us for years and we have been happy with them. We have them just come out every year and do the boiler. As far as I know we have just always used them because they have been satisfactory. I have had a good experience with them. They show up when they are supposed to and the furnace has worked fine. Their quality of service seems okay. I have no complaints with them.

First of all, I was provided with a detailed explanation of the available options and recommendation of what I needed followed by an accurate estimate of costs. I really liked the fact that there was no "high-pressure" to make the sale. I had gotten 4 estimates and theirs was in the middle, but went with them because I was the most comfortable with the presentation/explanation that they gave me. Once the contract was agreed to they came promptly and the work was done in a few hours. When they left everything was clean and neat (no mess at the furnace or through the house). They made a slight error as to the tax rebate that I would receive back and once they realized this is was deducted from what I owed them which I think was great business practice! I was very happy with the experience from beginning to end!

They told us we needed to buy something. The whole thing was very expensive. She wanted us to buy an inexpensive monitor but wanted to charge us a lot. The furnace is still working well.

Great! Tapped into the drain tile in the basement and installed pipes with the fan outside out garage to vent the radon up and out. Radon level is greatly reduced. Great to work with, very resonsive to our concerns. Prompt and professional

Sales person was great. Explained the different options. Did not pressure me to make an immediate decision. Helped us review the different furnace and air conditioners for energy efficiency and what did and did not qualify for rebates. Due to my work schedule, I had to arrange the installation for a few weeks out. I didn't have any heat so I was lucky that it had not gotten miserably cold yet. Bright and early on the scheduled installation date the first of the crew was at my door and ready to work. I could not believe how fast they got the old furnace torn down and ready to remove. About an hour into the tear down of the old furnace, additional crew came to help. They removed the old furnace, air conditioner (outside) and the water heater. I had asked them if they could make the drain lines a little longer because one of my pets kept pulling the drain line out of the floor drain. They went beyond that, they bolted the line to the floor and added elbows so the line would lay nicely in the drain and would not be pulled out by my pet. I was expecting everything to take much longer than it did. By 3:00 everything was installed, tested and working. I had a heat for the first time in 3 weeks which was great. Plus I had a water heater that did not make all kinds of noise as it kicked in to warm up the water. The work area was cleaned up. Not one thing was left laying around and they apparently even swept the floor. Can you believe that. I was extremely happy with the installation services. I love my furnace. Have not had an opportunity to use the air conditioning yet. I love the large view multi day and time thermostat and rave about it to everyone any chance I get. I am also amazed that the water heater is so efficient and quiet. I used to have to run the water for quite some time before it was hot, not any more. It' hot immediately. I forgot to add that I got multiple rebates back on my purchase from Carrier, The State, the Gas Company and one other. I got back almost $1200 in cash on my purchase which was wonderful. I would highly recommend Gross Heating. They were great to work with and now when I need filters I just call them up and they will have someone drop them off when they are in my area. Great Service.
