I called for a free estimate and Jeff Yaeger came over in a couple of days. Although the estimate was not the lowest we got (out of 3), Jeff's friendly demeanor and clear answers to questions, as well as giving us names of satisfied customers as referrals, tipped the balance toward Gross. The furnace was installed less than 2 weeks later, all in one day. We were amazed at how fast, clean, and quiet the workers were. Paul Yates was the team leader and instructed me on how to adjust the humidifier and change the filter (both yearly) and work the thermostat and aquastat. Subsequently we had a problem when VERY cold temps hit on a Sunday. Service call back was prompt and the repair person came within two hours (missing the Super Bowl as he did so!). We feel very satisfied and would recommend Gross to others. This furnace has enabled us to turn our thermostat down 2 degrees (68 day and 63 night) and still remain comfortable.

Called for service at 08:00 AM. Telephone representative was courteous. He said it would probably be after noon before they would arrive and they would call first. I received a call at 3:30 PM to let me know that the service man was on the way. Actual time of arrival was 4:00 PM. The service man was very grumpy. Complained about having a long day and about being sent to jobs that were far apart from each other. OK, I admit I was a little grumpy too after waiting all day with no heat. I was charged $168 for the ignition module. Later, I found the exact same ignition module on the Internet for $98. The labor charge was $91 for 45 minutes.

Another company had looked it over, but couldn't seem to handle the fact that we had a very old boiler (turns out they were mostly in the replacement equipment business). Gross cleaned it up and gave it a clean bill of health (for such an old geezer). They also worked on the old boiler at our old house, again nursing it through its old age. We will be replacing Bessy within a couple of years, and will definitely look to Gross to do the work.

They gave the best offer for the type of equipment being installed. They had to sub contract out an electrician to install a separate circuit.

Our overall experience with Gross Heating was very good. They submitted a competitive bid and did quality work.

I was very pleased with my work with Gross Heating and A/C. The salesperson was knowledgeable, flexible, and submitted a very competitive bid among the three or four Carrier dealers I chose to deal with. The installers were highly skilled and professional. The office staff has been great.

They covered the paths with cloth from the kitchen floor, including the steps down to the basement before started the work. Quality work.

He came out pretty quickly. He was very nice when he came out and explained to me what I needed to do and what not to do. They gave me good service. I did not compare their prices with competitors but I think their prices were pretty reasonable.

They're great! Very personable, honest, on time, if not they call. They do a great job, and their prices are reasonable. One of their employees found a dead mouse (yuck) when cleaning my furnace, and got rid of it for me! Now that's service!

THIS WAS A HEAVY RADIATOR & HARD TO MOVE. TECHNICIAN CLEANED UP WATER AFTER SPILLED AND STEAM-VACUUMED OUR CARPET AFTER IT GOT DIRTY. SHOWED ME HOW TO BLEED THE RADIATORS & HAD ME PRACTICE.

Mike completed a very thorough inspection and cleaning of our boiler system. He was very informative regarding the possibility of future problems and replacements. He was also quite professional.

We've been using Gross Heating for two years now. When we moved into our house the boiler hadn't been serviced for five years so the initial bill was over $300 but we've had them come every year and it runs like a top - it's worth the $95!!!

HE EXPLAINED ALL OF OUR OPTIONS. HE WAS A VERY NICE AND HONEST MAN.

HE WAS PROMPT AND DISCUSSED THE STATE OF THE OLDER SYSTEM. HE DID NOT TRY TO SELL ME A NEW SYSTEM.

ARRIVED DURING TIME PERIOD GIVEN. TECHNICIAN WAS PROFESSIONAL, WORKED STEADILY. ADJUSTED SOME CONTROLS BASED ON MY COMMENTS ABOUT HOW THE FURNACE WAS OPERATING. FINAL BILL WAS SAME AS ESTIMATE. FURNACE RUNS SAFELY.

THE TEAM OF TECHNICIANS WORKED QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN IN A MINUTE.

THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES I USE, AND I HAVE BEEN SO HAPPY WITH THEM I HAVE NO NEED TO CALL ANYONE ELSE.

THEY FIXED IT ONCE WITH A UNIVERSAL PART WHICH WAS THE WRONG PART AND THEY KEPT REPLACING IT WITH OTHER UNIVERSAL PARTS UNTIL THE RIGHT PART CAME IN. THEY WERE REPLACING A GAS VALVE. I WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

THE FEE SEEMED STANDARD FOR THE INDUSTRY. THE SERVICEMAN WAS INFORMATIVE WHEN I ASKED HIM QUESTIONS. HE DID OFFER TO PUT SOME TYPE OF COVER ON THE AC UNIT OUTDOORS TO REDUCE NOISE, AND AFTERWARDS I WISHED I''D ASKED HIM MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT THAT OPTION, BUT I DIDN''T THINK OF IT AND HE DIDN''T VOLUNTARILY EXPLAIN.

DURING AN EXTREME HOT SPELL, MY A/C FAILED. THE PRESIDENT OF GROSS HEATING CAME OUT WITHIN 3 HOURS (AFTER ANOTHER HVAC COMPANY CAME OUT, BUT FAILED TO DELIVER A QUOTE FOR REPLACEMENT). HE OFFERED A REPLACEMENT QUOTE, BUT LOOKED AT THE UNIT AND DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED A FAN MOTOR COULD FIX THE UNIT AT A SUBSTANTIAL SAVINGS. THE SERVICE TECH WAS THERE THE NEXT DAY AND REPLACED THE FAN MOTOR AND FOUND A SLOW LEAK DUE TO A PREVIOUS POOR REPAIR. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GROSS HEATING - THEY OFFERED SUPERIOR SERVICE AND PROFESSIONAL CARE.

GOOD INSPECTOR FOUND PROBLEM WITH OLD FURNACE, SHOWED AND TALKED ME THROUGH WHAT HE WAS DOING AND WHAT HE FOUND. POLITE SALESPERSON PRESENTED SEVERAL OPTIONS ON NEW UNIT. INSTALLATION CREW WAS PROMPT, QUICK, COURTEOUS, AND CLEANED UP WELL.

GOOD OUTFIT, BUT IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET THEM OUT TO YOU.
