The walk and stoop look like they were poured at the same time. Conventional wisdom says that it is a bad idea to put a thin coat of concrete over old concrete, but Tim has a way of doing it that works. After a full winter, there is no sign of cracking or delamination. I couldn't be happier with the result and have gotten many compliments.
Description of Work: As part of a project to replace my asphalt driveway, I needed to have the concrete walkway to my front stoop redone. Most of the bids I received from driveway contractors were in the $1500 range just for pouring an 11 ft X 4 ft. 7 in. ramped walk to the stoop with plain concrete. I also considered doing this with landscape pavers but the estimates were even greater. I met Tim at a home show and he showed me some impressive photos of stamped concrete work he had done. His specialty is doing this type of work and he indicated that he could cover the existing concrete stoop as well. His estimate was more than fair and after viewing a few jobs he had completed, I signed a contract. The next four weeks were way too hot to pour concrete. As soon as the weather cooled he poured and stamped the walk. A few weeks later, he returned to seal it.

We met Tim at a home show on the Wisconsin State Fair grounds. Even though his "square foot" cost estimate was not the lowest, we chose to use his services based on his personality and geographic location. Shortly afterwards, Tim came to our house to discuss applying a decorative concrete overlay on the surface and sides of our front porch stoop. While on site, he offered several ideas in regards to color and styles and helped us make a decision. Shortly afterwards, and over the course of the next two days, he and a coworker apply the overlay in a manner "identical" to what we discussed. We were very happy with the results and have received numerous compliments. More importantly however, was what came next. We had our house painted the next month and the painters dripped paint all over the new stoop. We didn?t realize that this happened until after the painters cleaned up and left. I called Tim to see what I could do to help correct the situation (I was worried about using chemicals, scrapping, etc., because I was not sure what such actions would do to the surface). The next day, Tim showed up and took care of the problem by himself (combination of scrapping and using lacquer thinner) - all at no additional charge. I was very impressed with Tim?s dedication to ensuring that the job was ?done right.?
Description of Work: Applied decorative concrete overlay on the surface and sides of our front porch stoop.

We noticed after approx. 1 mth. there was cracking on the poured part and pieces of concrete breaking off of the stamped part.We called Tim 3 times and left messages on 9/26/11,9/29/11 and 10/7/11 with no responses. On 10/10/11 we called and left Tim a message if he didn't return our call that day we would call BBB and put him on Angie's List, he called that evening and stated "concrete can crack in 2 days and it's not unusual to have pieces breaking off of the stamped part." He AGREED to call the day before and meet with us face to face to address the problems and our concerns. On 10/28/11 we found a business card stuck in our door and it stated "Took A Look. Nothing to worry about." So he never called or met with us as promised. We talked to a concrete contractor of 20 yrs. who stated on a 90 degree day [ which it was on the day the concrete was poured] the concrete should have been moistened and covered with plastic to slow the curing time. THIS WAS NOT DONE!!!!!! We asked Tim before he left after pouring the concrete was he going to moisten the concrete on such a hot day? Tim stated " No it's ok there's no need to wet it down because there's water in the concrete."Tim promised he was going to give us a "BEAUTIFUL" driveway and walkway, TIM DID NOT!!!!!!
Description of Work: Tim Cain put in a stamped walkway and a partial stamped driveway, the other part of the driveway was poured concrete.

Description of Work: Did not perform the work contracted to do, we had a stamped concrete walkway for the first project; told him what design and color we wanted, he kept pushing a specific design and color that we did not like, when he completed the walkway it was the color and design that we hated; he did what he originally wanted to do; does not match the house and the workmanship is terrible. It was a mutula decision not to go any further with the other projects we wanted done because we did not feel he was listening to what we wanted and did not feel confident that he would complete them in the color of concrete and design we wanted
