BECAUSE ALL CONSUMER SALES REPRESENTATIVES WERE ALREADY BUSY WITH OTHERS, ROGER, WHO IS A BUSINESS SALES REP, WAS CALLED TO ASSIST ME. (I WAS IMPRESSED THAT COMPUSA WAS MONITORING THE SALES FLOOR AND DID THIS INSTEAD OF JUST MAKING ME WAIT!) ROGER WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS IN A WAY I COULD UNDERSTAND, MADE SOLID RECOMMENDATIONS BASED ON MY STATED REQUIREMENTS, AND EVEN CALLED THAT EVENING TO FOLLOW UP ON MY PURCHASE AND OFFER ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. COMPUSA'S PRICES WERE VERY COMPETITIVE, AND I ESPECIALLY LIKED THE FACT THAT I COULD PURCHASE JUST A PC WITHOUT HAVING IT ''BUNDLED'' WITH A PRINTER AND/OR MONITOR I DIDN'T NEED. THIS IS THE SECOND PC I'VE BOUGHT AT COMPUSA, AFTER SHOPPING SEVERAL OTHER VENDORS IN TOWN (AND DELL ON THE WEB). THE NEXT TIME, I WON'T WASTE MY TIME GOING TO OTHER STORES.

IT''S AMAZING THIS COMPANY STAYS IN BUSINESS. (THEY BOUGHT OUT THE COMPETITION, FOR ONE THING). I COULDN''T GET ANSWERS ON PARTS OR PRICES. I HAD TO TALK TO THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE TO FIND THE RIGHT PART, THEN IT WASN''T OFFERED AT THE ADVERTISED PRICE. SINCE I DIDN''T BRING THE AD, I WAS OUT OF LUCK. I SPENT AN EXTRA $30 BECAUSE I DIDN''T WANT TO RETURN THE NEXT DAY. THEN I HAD TO TALK TO 3 MORE PEOPLE TO GET THE RIGHT REBATE COUPON. WHAT A HASSLE IT IS DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY. IF I HAVE A CHOICE I ALWAYS GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I WON'T USE THEM IN THE FUTURE.
Description of Work: REPLACED A HARD DRIVE ON A LAPTOP. I KNEW THE HARD DRIVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT ENDED UP HAVING TO PAY $149 FOR THEM TO TELL ME THE HARD DRIVE NEEDED REPLACING. ON TOP OF THAT, I HAD TO ASK IF A LESS EXPENSIVE HARD DRIVE WAS AVAILABLE. THEY QUOTED OVER $500 AND I FINALLY GOT ONE FOR $250 (ABOUT). I FEEL I WAS OVERCHARGED. I WAS TREATED AS IF I DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING (I'M A WOMAN), BUT TAUGHT COMPUTER SCIENCE AND AM QUITE COMPUTER LITERATE. I ONLY WENT ALONG WITH THEM BECAUSE IT REGARDED A LAPTOP, ABOUT WHICH I KNOW LESS. WHEN I PICKED UP MY REPAIRED COMPUTER, THE SERVICE PERSON JUST YAWNED AT ME AND I HAD TO ASK FOR A RECEIPT. THIS WAS A MOST UNPLEASANT SERVICE EXPERIENCE.
