I ordered the fan and lights and was told they were in-stock and I could pick them up in 2 weeks. When I called after 2 weeks, I was told that they were not ready yet and there was no timeframe as to when my lights would be ready. We were doing a kitchen remodel and I needed those lights installed before the city inspector could come and we would be able to continue the remodel. I left a message on the owner's voicemail expressing my displeasure. I did not receive the courtesy of a call from the owner. The lights were finally in and I picked them up after 3-1/2 weeks. I really like what I picked out, but their unprofessional put us behind in the kitchen remodel by 1-1/2 weeks. Unacceptable.

We were not happy with the product we purchased. When we went to hang the expensive fixture, the directions were terrible and it took much longer than expected to install it. We were at the point of just wanting to return it and find something else when I looked at the receipt and noticed their return policy. It is a very poor policy which either makes it impossible or financially punitive to return your purchase due to penalties. Who has a restrictive policy like that these days? This was for IN STOCK merchandise.I will not shop the store in the future.

We looked (unsuccessfully) at several lighting & home centers before remembering that we had been very happy with City Lights several years ago. The sales person was very helpful, asked what we were looking for, and then showed us several fixtures that were right along the lines of what we had told her. Even though we weren't spending a lot of money, she never made us feel rushed, and she kept looking for other choices even after we were basically settled on one of the sets that she had shown us. The selection was excellent, the pricing was very good, and we couldn't have been happier with the service.

Poor experience. We purchased the fan in their store and were told it would be delivered and installed in "about two weeks". We called them three weeks later - "Oh, the fan isn't in yet, it's on backorder". Cutting to the chase - the fan was finally installed six weeks later than their original estimate. They never called us to apprise us about delays - we had to keep calling them. The same cycle repeated itself - they would set a date when we could expect the fan to arrive, the date would come and go with no word from them, we would call them to ask for a status and they would set another date. We asked for some consideration for all the delays, but they offered nothing.

We had been told by other repairmen that our Casablanca ceiling fan was unrepairable and that we had to buy a new one. But when we went into City Lights to purchase one, they told us that we only needed a small repair, saving us hundreds of dollars. They repaired the fan quickly for only $50. Because of their honesty and great service, we returned and bought a new living room chandelier. Installation went great! We are very happy with all of the work done by City Lights.

Our salesperson, Cher, was very knowledgeable and helped guide us through a huge selection that was a little overwhelming. She suggested excellent under cabinet lights that were tailored to cooking. She also helped locate a special fixture we had seen in a catalog, but was not in stock. She provided bulbs and advice on installation.

WE HAVE USED CITY LIGHTS FOR ALL OUR LIGHTING AND FAN PURCHASES FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. ALL OF THE PERSONNEL ARE HELPFUL AND COMPETENT. OUR FAVORITE THOUGH IS JOANN. WE HAVE BOUGHT A RANGE OF THINGS FROM THE SIMPLE (BULBS, SMALL UTILITARIAN FIXTURES), TO A COMPLEX LOW VOLTAGE SYSTEM FOR A KITCHEN REMODEL. THEY ARE VERY GOOD AT HELPING YOU FIND JUST WHAT YOU WANT, WHETHER IT IS SOMEWHERE HANGING IN THE STORE, OR LETTING YOU LOOK THROUGH THEIR MANY BOOKS AND CATALOGS.
