At Chimney Advocate the goal is to clear your chimney of any creosote, and leave you the homeowner feeling safe, knowing you just had a true professional in your house, and that you are safe to burn for years to come! While going to school I wanted to learn a trade. Although it was difficult to pick one, chimneys stood out among the rest. Many years later they have become a big part of my life.

Services we offer
Chimney Sweep
During this process the technician will inspect the outside chimney, fireplace, stove, and/or vent according to safety codes. The technician will clean, or sweep, the chimneys and make repairs, which may involve masonry work and relining. They will also educate homeowners and building maintenance crews in how to properly care for their stoves and fireplaces
Inspections
During this service a technician will scan the inside of your fireplace using a camera. This process includes looking for cracked tiles, missing mortar joints, and any obstruction that may cause a disruption to your fireplace. This service also includes an exterior inspection of your chimney. While outside the technician will look for cracked bricks, missing mortar joints, rain caps, etc.
Tuck Pointing
Tuckpointing is a technique used in masonry that involves filling gaps between mortar and brick on a masonry chimney and walls by coordinating the color of the mortar to match the brick. This is done by the technician to prevent cracks and water damage to the bricks.
Cap Installation
The technician will determine the size of your flue tile and fit it with a stainless steel cap preventing deterioration to the interior liner.
Relining
Relining your chimney becomes essential because liners channel heat and gases up through the chimney top and block the heat from causing combustible materials around the chimney from catching fire. If your chimney needs to be relined it’s most likely due to deterioration inside your chimney causing your chimney to become hazardous. An example of this may be if your liner is cracked or crumbling. If this happens, you need to get your chimney relined before using your fireplace. If this needs to be done the technician will scan your chimney and show the customer the deterioration.
Water Leaks
The technician will determine where the leak is coming from and decide the best method for finding a cure.
