Stein's Garden & Home

They are outstanding. The plants are beautiful and are the best I have seen this season, and elsewhere for that matter.

During the afternoon of July 26 I went to Steins for some type of sprinkler designed to water in a long but narrow rectangular area. This was for new sod that was just placed along one full side of my home where outside excavation was done due to basement wall failure problems. None of my sprinklers at home worked out. At Steins they had a lot of sprinkler sysems available but none seemed to be what I was looking for. I told the girl at the front desk about my quandry and she called for assistance in that area. A young man -- Nick C -- came and he selected two styles he thought might work out and then we walked to the outside and he connected the sprinklers to a hose to see how they actually worked! And one was PERFECT. And it was one I never would have thought might work; I would have passed over it. Nick's willingness to go way beyond that STEP BEYOND was a great help to me and quickly took care of a major issued I had to work through . . . and will be something I'll value and long remember.

I STOPPED AND THE FIGURE OF ST. FRANCIS I WANTED WAS MARKED AT $199 ON SALE FOR $149. I TRIED TO GET A CLERK TO HELP ME, THE GIRLS WERE BUSY WORKING ON THE REGISTER AND THE GUYS WERE BUSY TALKING TO EACH OTHER AND I COULDN'T GET ANY HELP FROM THEM. SO I FIGURED IT WAS A SCAM AND I LEFT. I HAVE SPINAL PROBLLEMS AND WALK WITH A CANE AND I CAN'T GET OUT EVERY DAY. SO ON APRIL 24TH MY HUSBAND AND I STOPPED AGAIN. THE FIRST YOUNG MAN I TALKED TO SAID THE SALE WAS OVER BUT HE WOULD GET HIS MANAGER, A VERY TALL, YOUNG MAN WITH A TERRIBLE ATTITUDE. I EXPLAINED MY PROBLEM AND ASKED ABOUT THE FIGURES. VERY RUDELY HE SAID THE SALE WAS OVER AND IT WAS JUST MY PROBLEM. HE WALKED AWAY AND LEFT ME STANDING THERE. I TOLD HIM HE WAS VERY RUDE AND HAS LOST A VERY GOOD CUSTOMER. THERE ARE MANY GARDEN CENTERS AND OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN KEEPING THEIR CUSTOMERS. HE STATED "THAT IS OK".
