Kontney Computer Group

I went to Angie's List to find one that looked reputable and picked Kontney Computer Group. After talking to one of their technicians I was told the router would be in within 2 days. After a week I called back and they apologized for forgetting about me and sent a technician out who put a router in, set-up two wi-fi accounts, one for business and one for customers. People had a hard time getting onto the wi-fi and if they did they were kicked off in 10 minutes. I called back several times and the technician was to hook-up directly and make a few adjustments. After calling again, I spoke with a different technician who said a residential router was installed and that is why this was happening. He said I would need a commercial one installed in addition to the router in place. There was never a question that I was a commercial account and had explained this all up front, in addition they were billing my business. When yet another technician came to install the commercial part, I was told there was yet ANOTHER part that would need to be installed! I went from an original bill of $208.10 to $443.52!!! I am not at all happy with their incompetence and inconvenience it caused me. I should have been provided the correct quote for the equipment needed to properly do the job, not what I consider to be bait and switch.

They advised me that I would be better off purchasing a new laptop as opposed to fixing the old one. They did not charge me for that diagnostic. They were very honest. I am actually getting ready to use them again very soon.

Virus was removed and computer was cleaned up. Computer runs much faster now and has more memory. Will was incredibly helpful and kind. Once we got back home with our computer, I had to call Will to help with the installation of an online game for my son. He helped me work through the problem over the phone free of charge.

Will was exceptionally patient and helpful, offering much better alternatives than what I had thought I had wanted. He explained things clearly, with as much detail as I needed. Follow-up service by phone was particularly effective in clearing up the last details of installation and training me to use a new system.

Kyle Kontney and one of his employees, Will, came to the house on time. They had us show them our computer set-up and where everything was. They then proceeded to make notes and take pictures of our equipment. We were informed then of our options and costs. They took the computers and phone back to the office to complete a lot of the work there. Kontney then came back to do all the installation work and educate us on our new system.We are very pleased with Kontney. They make it easy to understand all the technical jargon in plain English. The following is verbatim of what we had done. 1. (planning and procurement): Provides a one-on-one personal consultation to determine the best PC/Laptop for the clients needs, provide the best pricing on business grade equipment, make software recommendations based on the needs of the client. Place order/s, manage order processing and receive the hardware and software item/s. 2. (crafting and engineering): Load Windows OS from scratch, apply latest BIOS update to the PC/Laptop, firmware update the optical drive, install the latest drivers for the network card, sound card, video card, and north and south bridge chipset. Install all Microsoft Windows updates, install the latest version of Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Shockwave, and Java. Install all client-provided software and all purchased software, update all installed software (such as patches and hotfixes), configure all user profiles and migrate all data from old PC or Laptop and configure email clients. 3. (placement and delivery): Set up the PC/Laptops at the client's residence, configure and secure any wireless networks at the site, connect all wireless devices onto the new wireless network (if any) install any printers, scanners or scanners on the new PC/Laptop, remove any old printers, monitors, or Pcs and properly recycle including wiping all data off hard drives with a Department of Defense DoD 5220.22-M level wiping utility, provide client with brief overview of the new PC/Laptop physical features, provide an overview of the new features of the operating system and any new software, provide client with software folder with all media and manuals provided with the PC/Laptop and software packages. 4. (support and assistance): Provide thirty days of free phone support, provide thirty days of free remote control support.

Excellent service. We needed new router programmed for our payroll direct deposit. We had one day response from Kontney. Technician interviewed us to make sure our needs were met with router provided. Carmen (Technician) explained each sstep, called our provider to set up router. Ran tests of both computers to insure everything working.

I like to use Kontney because I have found them to be reliable, knowledgable, and trustworthy. I wouldn't trust my hard drive to just anyone. They have come to the house to fix a major problem when we suffered the "blue screen of death" and took my laptop with them. Other times, they've logged on remotely and solved the problem easily.

I stopped at Kontney Computer at 5:15 and Kyle was at my house to look at the problem by 6:00 (45 minutes). Kyle looked at the issues and told me he would need to take it to his office to work on it. He told me the cost before he left my house. He even gave me a discount since I was an Angies List member. Kyle is extremely professional and sincere. He was able to answer all my questions and even gave me some recommendations. He did not rush me when he reinstalled it and waited until I was satisfied with the computer before he left. He explained the problems that had occurred and what I can do to avoid them in the future. He reviewed the different security systems that are available and explained the advantages of some over others. Kyle is a wealth of information so I suggest you get a list of questions prepared so you can ask them and you don't think later " I should have asked him about..."

I have the world's slowest running computer even thought it was not very old. Will worked on it and clean it up. It was amazing how much better it worked. It was like getting a new PC. Great group to work with and there really know the "stuff"

The owner of this business, Kyle Kontney is very knowledgeable and helpful and patient. He is very thorough in helping to select the best equipment, e-mail and software for your specific needs. He stands behind his sale to you. He went the extra mile to get me an accessory on hardware I ordered but was missed and delivered wrong. This is a small firm but very responsive and capable...from the people answering the phone and taking in questions or calls for help; to the expert who set up my system and trained me...Carmen; through to Kyle. I would use Kontney Computer Group again. And I recommend them to others.

It was a positive experience. They were very nice and obviously knew their business. I will definitely use their services again.

They were fantastic! They knew exactly what they were doing and did it quickly. They explained everything to me step by step and wanted me to ask questions about things I didn't understand! They are very knowledgable and their prices are extremely competitive. I have yet to receive services from any other computer service company that come anywhere close to this company!!! I have a new computer partner!

Fantastic experience. While he was working he answered several questions I had and was making suggestions as to how I can avoid issues going further. He was upfront with any costs and the end result was a working computer and increased knowledge on how to avoid issues going forward. I highly recommend.

Kyle was amazing. So nice, competent and calm (computer issues make me crazy!). He just took over, dealt with our service provider, explained to me what he did. I will definitely be using Kontney in the future.

The drive failed catastrophically and the contents were not able to be saved.They tried everything and did not charge me because the data could not be copied. I bought new hardware and so far am very pleased with it.

It worked out fine. I liked them because of the fact that they offered a free check up. They did the check up and cleaned out some of the unwanted files. They suggested updating which they would have charged for, which is understandable but initial inspection and the routine checkup they did not charge. They basically within one day had it done. What they did do helped out quite a bit.

We had a great experience with Kontney and will use them again.

Kontney Computers was excellent to work with in a number of ways. They were very prompt at returning phone calls during both my services (repair and purchase). Both of the employees I worked with could easily explain what they were doing in simple terms and train me on any new software. I really liked the home delivery/pick up service as well. Overall, I would recommend this company to anybody for either a purchase or a home or business computer and for any type of repair work. I feel it was a great value with excellent service.

My PC had been running slower and s l o w e r. It would occasionally freeze up. And I had even seen the 'blue screen of death' once. So I figured it was time for a professional to look at it. It turns out that some viruses had gotten past my virus protection. Kontney's killed the virus and did some extra cleanup. Kyle Kontney explained that even though I have up-to-date virus protection, that one I have is one of the easiest ones for viruses to work around. At my prompting he told me the name of another company that has a stronger protection against viruses. He is very knowledgeable and willing to share what he knows. All of my contact with the people that worked there was pleasant. The work was done within two days. I'm very pleased with them and will certainly use them again if I need help with my computers. I highly recommend Kontney Computer Group!

Called the morning of May 3rd, and needed someone there same day. They were able to accommodate my request. I had several issues with my home network, the router and a software issue on another computer. The tech was able to fix everything all within less than a few hours. Great service. I felt confident with the techs knowledge that I would definitely use them again.

He is great. He is very professional, helpful and educative. He can handle anything and is very responsive to my needs, irrespective of whether they are big or small. I would recommend him. I would rate him highly and would continue to use him in the future.

Kyle the owner came over and gave me a free estimate on what it would cost to repair the computer. We then discussed other options, such as buying a new or used computer.I decided to go with a used computer and monitor. Kyle then took my old computer and transfered the data, came back the next day,hooked up the computer and took as much time as was needed to explain to me how it operated . On the first day Kyle called to let me know he would be a little late, a whole 10 min. Thats good customer service to me. Overall I thought I got a quality product along with quality service at a great price. Another extra benefit you receive when you purchase a computer thru Kontney, is it comes loaded with their program called clean, which when run, handles all your maintenance task you would schedule and more. A great program at no additional cost.

They spent the time to get my Mac to work. They didn't charge me for the time that they spent researching the problem. They are concerned about making sure that the customer is happy. They are very service oriented. They reinstalled the printer driver, they reinstalled all my updates. I had some problems with my wireless router, they came in and they tried to make it better. But I needed to actually purchase a new router. They were still having problems so they went back and got another G Router and they came back a second time until they were happy with the signal. None of this was any additional cost to me. They came out from thirty minutes away.
