Sysko's Floor Sanding

During my first conversation with Syskos partner, Nick Neis, I was given good information to all my concerns. An appointment was made to complete an evaluation. Mark Neis, the other partner, arrived to evaluate the oak floor that had been damaged with chatter in the wood and poorly refinished by a previous finisher. The floor was in the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Mark set reasonable expectations of what they thought could be accomplished, gave an estimate, and indicated the time it would take to accomplish the job. Mark answered all questions from myself and our builders who were present. The job was scheduled. We were notified of any variation of expected arrival time by a phone call. Mark draped the entire work area and closed off the rest of the house to minimize sanding dust. This was especially important to us since the previous finisher had ignored our request to do so and left us with sanding dust coating walls, windows, and most every other surface that took days to clean up. Mark and a helper arrived the first day of the job. They sanded off the finish and had me come and view the chattered floor. The lines were highly visible as they were darkened compared to the rest of the floor. They then work to carefully to even out the floor without removing unnecessary wood. Since the floor had been sanded several times before, this was imperative. The entire area was cleaned up before they applied any finish to insure there would be no dust in the air to land on the wet sealer or finish. Mark applied 2 coats sealer with appropriate drying time in-between. The floor was buffed as appropriate and the finish was applied, dried and buffed before the next coat. We found Syskos to be professional and invested in performing quality work. They are so committed to customer satisfaction, that Mark returned (we live some distance from the home office) to inspect the floor with us and be sure that we were happy with it before submitting their bill. We will have them come to do any maintenance or refinishing that has to be done on the floor in the years to come. We have recommended them to others as well.
