Initially satisfied with work done. Invoice was not created and mailed until June 18 (work finished April 27). Labor charge was very high. I called and questioned labor charge and asked for a breakdown instead of just a lump sum. Two days later received a breakdown by date, name of worker and number of hours per day - no listing of work performed. First day listed was April 14 for 2.5 hours. I called again with questions and was told there was no more information available. When I pointed out that I did not call the company to hire work done until April 16, the woman on the phone just said that she billed what she was told to - no apology or offer to check into it. I called one of the people who had actually worked on the house and left a message. As soon as I pointed out that I had my phone records showing the date I first called the company, he said that the date was wrong on the first charge. During our conversation, he made changes to six of the seven charges, lowering and in one case eliminating them. I waited in vain for a few days for a corrected invoice showing the correct charges and then went to the company address and paid the bill as corrected during my conversation with the plumber. A worker offered me a receipt and wrote "Paid in full" on it along with his name, the date and the invoice and check number. That was on June 26, 2012, eight days after the original invoice was created. On July 9 a new copy of the original invoice was mailed stating that no payment had been received and adding an interest charge. I again called to point out that this was paid in full and had in fact cleared my bank several days earlier and was told she had just noticed that. A few days later I received another copy of the invoice showing my payment but stating that I still owed for 1/2 hour labor. I called again stating that this was paid in full and the woman said she was told to bill this. I have continued to received a bill each month even tho I have pointed out payment was made. I have asked repeatedly for the owner of this small company to call me to discuss this and there has been no response. In October I sent an email to the owner stating that I wanted this resolved or I would contact the Better Business Bureau. I filed a complaint with the BBB on October 24th, received notice that the complaint had been passed along to Ryan Heating and Plumbing and BBB has received no response from the company. I have all copies of invoices, the receipt from June, the email I sent and phone records to support the issues. I saved over $400.00 by questioning the charges. Now I'd just like them to clear my account of the 1/2 labor charge added after the full payment was made. Unfortunately, before I received the invoice I contracted with this company for more work which was started in May but still remains unfinished. Again, the owner of the company will not even speak with me to get this matter cleared up.
Description of Work: I purchased a home with winterized plumbing. Ryan's flushed lines, replaced main valve and installed a new kitchen sink over the course of several days. I was satisfied with the initial response time and quality of work. All was fine until the bill arrived a month and a half later. The total billable hours was much higher than I expected so I called and asked for a breakdown of this amount. When I received the breakdown I noticed that the first date listed was 2 days before I even called to hire the company.
