Description of Work: Home Depot replaced our replacement windows in the summer. When winter came around we felt a lot of drafts thru the sides of the Windows and the casings. We had someone come out to inspect them and they could feel the drafts also. They said they would have someone come out when it is a little warmer. In spring they we someone out and they tore trim off a couple windows as if they were going to replace the insulation and trim. No one ever came back. We went all summer with trim tore off and leaky windows. They finally called and said that the guy would be back to finish the job. Next winter we still had the same issue. They sent out another crew and they tore off some trim and found there were openings with no insulation in them. Then they spoke with there boss and they were told to redo all the trim and make sure insulation was properly installed. They took everything off and out and used spray foam around the Windows. They used so much spray foam that it was all over the exterior of the Windows, some on our new siding, and it penetrated thru the gaps around the oak trim and got all over the trim and Windows. I spoke with the manager and they said they would replace all the Windows for free. A couple weeks later they showed up with the wrong color Windows, the wrong quantity and sizes. They had to reorder the Windows again. A few weeks later they came with the correct Windows and installed them. The Windows came with half screens instead of full like we had. When it was windy they howled. They sent someone out and some holes had to be caulked and some slots, I would have to question some of this because it can disrupt drainage. Now the only crank window can be opened but it cannot be closed. Called their customer service number and left two messages and never received a call back. I called them again and was able to speak with someone and they said they would have to open a work order. Going on a week and a half and still no call. I'm am sorry I ever did this but the warranty is excellent. If I could afford it I would tear these out and put something else in. There is more than what I wrote but cannot go on forever.

We first went to the Home Depot in Hudson, Wisconsin to have a patio door instslled and windows rewrapped.. The previous door had rotted due to a leak so the front of the house was boarded up. We dealt with Home Depot in Minneapolis and signed a contract on June 6, 2014. We were told that it would be 4-6 weeks since the door had to be ordered from Andersen Window and Door Company. The gentleman that came to our home and had us sign the contract seemed unfamiliar with what he should be doing. We were then told that we would have to prove that our house was built after the 1970's to insure that there was no lead in the building. It is fairly obvious that we are in a new subdivision and our house was built in 2001. A Home Depot representative came to our house and performed a test for lead. He signed paperwork stating the house was lead free. After two weeks we called Home Depot since we had not heard anything on an installation date. We were then told that we had to prove that the house was built after 1970. We provided tax statements for 2000 showing it was land only, 2001 showing the house was partially built, and 2002 showing the house was built and occupied. We then received an install date of August 14. Two days before that date they called to say they did not have the door. Install was rescheduled for September 3. It rained that day. After several phone calls it was rescheduled for September 24. Again it rained. Home Depot did not return calls, the person in charge always had a full mailbox so you could not leave a message. It took writing letters to the Home Depot President in Atlanta, the President of Andersen Windows, and Angie's List before we got any response. Installation scheduled for October 1 - it rained. The door was finally installed October 19.Putting a customer at the bottom of the list after it rains on their install date had to be the worst practice ever. I will not use Home Depot again for any installation project.
Description of Work: Installed a patio door and rewrapped the surrounding windows.

Had my old Frigidaire "above stove" microwave go to greener pastures after 11 years of grueling work. I am not much of a cook, so that poor thing was used a lot for microwave dinners! Bought the same microwave model at a different big box store for $125+ more than Home Depot was selling it for and then would have had to install myself ... so, I did what anyone would do.. I returned it to the big box store, bought it from Home Depot, added the warranty (Do a warranty on a microwave of this type!) and the added $79 install. 2 awesometastic dudes showed up Saturday as promised, and took about 45 minutes to install it. I had already pulled my old one down and was hoping since it was the same brand and type, there wouldn't be any drilling... there was, just a little bit, but enough to be a pain to do. The installers were great guys, and I talked their ear off about the football game that was on tv right behind them about 10 feet away. Signed some papers, they strongly encouraged me to fill out the warranty info online, which I did immediately, and they were on their way. Hoping my next purchase and install with Home Depot goes this way... and one is on the docket, a hot water heater. Will update after that happens! For now, thanks Home Depot!

We are happy with them. There was this guy who was really good using a computer program, we gave the dimensions and he designed the kitchen. They're just exactly what we hope they would be, I think you can't get any better than that. It was really nice. We would use them again in the future.

The start date was moved two times at the request of home Depot. Not working on the day scheduled, roofing not available, once for rain. When the job was started it was found that sufficient roofing was not available. Continuing problem with nails on drive. Gutters on garage blocked with roofing and nails. There were other problems drip guards not installed, hole in gutter from pitchfork. These problems were resolved after Home depot was informed.
Description of Work: Re-roof house and garage.
