Ducharme & Son Construction

We decided not to go with Ducharme because I met him when he was outside smoking like a chimney looking at my roof. He showed up when I had other contractors here to give me an estimate and interrupted us and he knew another contractor was here, very unprofessional. He called me on the phone regarding replacing my kitchen picture window and said to me that is a "big a** window" extremely unprofessional!!!! Gave me an estimate before we decided to go with a steel roof but by then we knew it was going to be at least 28,000 his estimate, so by then we decided he is def NOT THE GUY!  Did not like him when I first met him!!!!

jacked my front door up , broke my security alarm, took 4 attempts to do what they said could be done in one day. tore up plaster, big mess. this was done by owner and son. said they were insured. paid them just to get rid of them. very bad work and un proffesional

Bill Ducharme, the owner of this construction company, told us that he would be able to start the job in early summer, but his crew did not actually start until August. They also had other concurrent jobs while working on our house and so the entire process took almost 1 month! It took an entire week for them to replace the linoleum and do the other simple projects in the kitchen. The workers were very sloppy. They left piles of debris in the kitchen whenever they left for lunch and other breaks during the day. Most of the workers smoked and routinely left cigarette butts all over our lawn and on the front and back steps. We had to tell them many times that this was unacceptable behavior. The workers did not tack down the tarps they put over the front of our roof, even though they knew a big storm was coming. That night the rain destroyed the small cupola of our front roof and water streamed into our front hallway. This caused great damage to the walls in the hallway. It took almost 2 weeks to dry out. All that area had to be re-plastered and re-painted due to their carelessness. Ducharme himself rarely supervised his workers. Although he finally made them do the work to our satisfaction, the entire experience was a nightmare from start to finish. This is the worst group of contractors we have ever used.
