I accepted and paid them $300.00 down and asked that they wait until after a different company replaced the shingles before they would replace the gutter. They said to call them when I was ready. After the shingle work was all done, I called them. We agreed on a day. They came and did the job and I paid them the $600 balance. They did a perfect job. I would recommend them to my family members.
Description of Work: Replace 32 lineal feet of old plain roof gutter with their 'leaf-guard' system on the south side of my garage.

+ -1 moreI called Midwest Leafguard and it took them 4 days to get back to me to set up an appointment for an estimate and the date of the appointment was 2 1/2 weeks out. The salesman came out to our house and was very nice and friendly and explained everything and answered our questions. He said if we called our neighbor (who has leafguard gutters) and ask them how they liked them he would give us $50.00 off the estimate. Also, if we paid cash we would get 1% off. We gave him the coupons we got off Angies List which was 50% off labor and 1% off up to $100.00. He said he couldn't honor them because of the other discounts. The coupons never stated "not to be used with other discounts or coupons and never said anything about "some restrictions apply". My husband asked him to call his boss and see what he says. So the salesman called his boss and he said the samething, that they would not honor our coupons. My husband decided he didn't want to go with leafguard because of that. The salesman got upset and grabbed his paperwork and books and left. He sure wasn't nice or friendly when he left. IF A COMPANY WON'T HONOR THEIR COUPONS - WILL THEY HONOR THEIR LIFETIME WARRANTY?

+ 0 moreThey came right on time and even finished an hour or so earlier than they estimated. The guys were friendly and very professional. I think all of them had worked with the company for several years. Had an excellent experience with everything about the job.
Description of Work: They replaced our gutters and downspouts and we got the gutter helmet type of gutters where you never have to clean the leaves out of them again. We were very happy with the job they did. What we especially liked is the very large size of the downspouts. I'd say they are about double the size of what we had before in outer dimension. The metal used in the gutters is also much thicker than the regular gutters we had before. This means there will be little or no tendency for them to get blocked. It was so nice to to have to clean gutters at the end of the winter or this spring. The two men who did the installation also cleaned up very well after the installation. They also replace a little bit of rotten wood at the end of our old gutters where they had overflowed at no charge. We also replaced five windows with there triple paned, argon filled windows. All the windows were custom sized for our home since it was built in about 1954 and all made for the home. We had one quite large window in our living room and the other windows were a little smaller. The kitchen window was the type that opens from side rather than up and down. The job included installing aluminum over the wood on the outside right next to the windows. Aluminum cladding? It was nice too that the window frames are not very thick. This preserved a lot of our window area. They had all the forms ready for us to file for our energy credit with taxes for 2010 and also had obtained the permits for us. That was about $100 here in Richfield. Windows have a lifetime guarantee which covers glass and screen breakage and damage. The warranty is also transferrable to one additional owner if you sell the house. Already we have noticed that our home was warmer during the winter and has been cooler during the beginning of the AC season. They did a very nice job, cleaning up everything and taking away our old windows. Would not hesitate to use them again either for gutters or for windows. I mentioned this before, but I really like the idea that the installers had worked for the company for several years and had good benefits and an opportunity to move up in the company.

Description of Work: I have a story and a half house and thought that these gutters would solve all of our problems having to do with clogged gutters. They sure do the job, but unfortunately, we are very unhappy with their performance for the winter. We never had as many icicles with our old "normal" gutters. Then when the icicles melt, they drip on our stoop, which causes a whole new set of problems. We have already went back to the old style of gutters on the back of the house and will replace the front this summer. I wish that they had told me about the icicle issue. I never would have bought them. Back to cleaning out the gutters!

+ -1 moreI stopped at their booth at the Minnesota State Fair. We had been thinking of replacing our gutters. I then looked them up on Angie's List and was comfortable going ahead with the project. Jeff came out, reviewed our needs, made recommendations, and we signed the contract at this visit. A couple of weeks later, the gutters and downspots were installed. The installers worked quickly and carefully.
Description of Work: We had our old gutters and downspots replaced with the LeafGuard gutters. Jeff Anderson was very helpful and made good suggestions. He was easy to work with and also provided a list of customers willing to speak to potential clients regarding the product. Jeff also listened to our concerns and was able to answer our questions to our satisfaction.

+ -1 moreWe have lots of pine trees, and the needles had been a huge problem for years. LeafGuard's installers cut the sections to size on the spot and completed the installation in just a few hours. The installer said that the estimator had missed one section that would require a special guard, due to the angles of roofline coming together. He suggested that we watch it through the first big rain, and if necessary, he would come back and correct it. There was a problem with rainfall, we called, the installer returned and made the necessary change at no charge.
Description of Work: We purchased LeafGuard gutters because of the never-clean-again guarantee. We had an estimator come and price gutters for the front of the house, and two portions of the back of the house.

When I called to ask if they could trim a little off of the the length, they were extremly responsive. Stopped by within a few days.
Description of Work: Replaced old gutters with new covered gutters. Replaced old downspouts with oversized downspouts. Installed diverters on downspouts to divert water into rainbarrels.

+ -1 moreJeff Anderson (salesmen) was professional, polite and the presentation was first rate. James and Chad installed the system and also was professional and polite. I was able to get a sample of the gutters from Jeff and had the eves painted to match prior to installation. This makes them virtually invisible and was very impressed with how quickly the installation process took. They not only glued but screwed all contact points and cleaned up everything including the shavings from cutting. Pricing was a little hire then some companies but I paid for the quality and connivence of the never clog feature. Lastly, you will need to be patient for they are very busy outfit and rely on scheduling certain areas to maximize there time. They do communicate really well but expect 2-4 weeks before install. GREAT EXPERIENCE!

+ -1 moreEverything about our experience with Midwest Leafguard was outstanding. The salesman was thorough and had good props to demonstrate the Leafguard product. Price was very competitive with other bids. Work was scheduled within ten days of our downpayment for the job. Materials were delivered a couple days prior to the installation. Installers were punctual, courteous, answered questions and did a good job. (They actually washed a second story window for my wife and pruned some vines that were growing close to the shingles!) They responded positively to one concern I had about a downspout and changed it to my satisfaction on the spot. They were careful not to damage any flowers or shrubs and cleanup was good. They hauled away the old gutters. The whole job took about seven hours to complete.

+ -1 moreThey did a lovely job of installing the gutter. The workers were careful and nice. They cleaned up after themselves. There was one issue with them and so we asked for a change from them. It was a misunderstanding so we were able to get them to split the bill and they changed it for us. It was very nice of them to do that. They are the company who stands behind their work. They are a construction company but they are also the LeafGuard representative for our area. Their price is high but it is because of the quality of gutter ; its construction is good. It is much bigger gutter and it has a cover for it. I bought the gutter with the cover as I am getting too old to climb up and clean out the leaves.
