We received the bid for the work in late 2010. After finally picking a color, we had the work done in late February/early March. There was some confusion over a trim piece at the top of the siding and some of the gutter downspouts. All were promptly fixed. There could have been more communication from the company as to when the work was going to be done. We were notified when the siding was going to be removed. But after that, we did not receive a telephone call letting us know when the new siding was going to be installed.

They came out and did the work. The work was done well. The workers seemed to be okay. I don't have any complains. Their price was average. They did what they were going to do. They showed up on time. I would use them in future if needed.

Communication is the weak spot for this company. The men who first looked at our roof, determined what needed to be done, and gave us a quote did not pass any of the information along to the crews that showed up to do the actual work of removing the snow and steaming off the ice dams. Both of these crews asked what they were supposed to do when they arrived - not as an additional confirmation, but because they'd not been given any direction. In addition, I was supposed to get a call in advance of the ice dam removal crew showing up so I could be sure to be home. The call never came, and it was only by accident that I was home at the time - lucky, because they needed to have the outside water faucet turned on (and had not mentioned that in advance). Other than the communication issue, the snow and ice dam removal went very well and we were pleased with the work. The request for a quote on upgrading our insulation did not go well. Two men came out on 2/11 to evaluate our situation. We were told we needed some extensive work done, and that we'd have a quote the following week. As we were not in a particular hurry to get this work done, I waited until 3/1 to email the Lindus rep to ask when we might get a quote. Never got a reply. Called the Lindus office on 3/7 to ask when we might hear back on the quote, and was told by the woman who answered the phone that she'd get on it and get back to us. As of 3/14 we have not heard anything from this company. Based on their lack of response over such an extended period of time, we will not use and cannot recommend this company.

We had a few problems with some of the workers bickering, but it did not affect us. It was a minor worker argument. They had to come back and fix a few things. The job looks nice and we like the siding we picked out. They did a good job installing it and were very neat. We are satisfied with it. We have not had any problems with it and it has been through one winter. I would recommend them. They did a good job. We did not do a price comparison because we wanted to stay within our insurance allotment and Lindus met our needs in that category. The price was worth the quality of the work.

It was a multitude of things. We came to know of them through the radio as they do a radio program. They were very pleasant and very professional. They were exceedingly prompt in giving us the estimate. We have contracted to use their service. I would recommend them.

Midwest provided us with some ideas for fixing a leak and a bid for siding and staining what we have now.

The project went very well. There were a couple of delays due to my misunderstanding an issue and they handled that with complete patience and politeness. I choose them even though the project estimate was significantly higher than other solutions primarily because they were able to suggest the best specific solution to a problem that other vendors were vague about. They were very accommodating to our scheduling requirements, tearing off the old gutters about a month before coming back to put up the new ones. The new gutter installation looks great and functions well. There was no additional clean-up required and they were careful not to damage the new landscaping and newly painted house.

The insulation and the attic work was great. They were very punctual and clean with their work. They were very good of cleaning up their messes especially since they had to go through one of our bedroom closets. The communication with this company is great, especially in the office when scheduling. They could have charged us more money than neccesarry because of the contract. When they got to working they realized that new vents were not neccesarilly needed and made our curent vents operational. They are looking out for the customers best interest and doing a great job at it.

They didn?t call ahead. They came when they said they weren?t coming and didn?t come when they said they would be. The communication was not good. The product itself seems to be functioning fine. We had one that was leaking. They came out to fix it, but it was again without a phone call. We requested them to call us first because we wanted to show them where the leak was at.

We have used them repeatedly for gutters. Their estimate on the siding was higher than the quote we got from another company, but we haven't decided what we are doing yet. We have done various phases of our gutters and they added one that we needed on the side. We basically like everything about them. Their price is good and their service is good. People are knowledgeable. They do a great job. They pretty much have the corner on the market in our area in that particular type of gutters. We would use them again in the future.

Excellent. Lindus is a wonderful contractor with a nice Midwestern attitude and cost competitive. With any sizable remodeling project there a blips and patience is required, but Lindus made sure I was satisfied with the work even when that meant moving a window, redoing trim around a window and putting in different under cabinet lights. Daryl, the construction project manager, makes sure that your entire punch list at the end of a major project gets done and does a final walk through. If he doesn't like what he sees, he gets it fixed. Lindus did a beautiful job matching my unique indoor wood trim color and replicating the larger windowsills I had on my 1950's windows. The kitchen remodel looks beautiful with top of the line hand crafted cabinets and all soft close drawers/cabinets (standard from the cabinet subcontractor) and Cambria counters. Wayne, their carpenter, who does the trim work is so helpful and cleans up after himself always. Plus, Lindus allowed me to bring in some contractors for some work (tile installation, glass shower door) and buy some things directly (sinks, faucets, toilet, tile, some light fixtures, all appliances, towel bars and hooks) which saved me money by avoiding the builder markup. One bid I had from a well recommended "design build" firm for just the kitchen remodel equaled what I paid Lindus for all of this work!.

Everything went well. When Jake and Jim showed up I asked where the rest of the crew was and was told that they were it. I was a bit worried as we were told that it would take 3 or 4 days and I didn't think the two of them could do it. I was wrong. These guys were machines and knew their business. From the 1st window taken out I could tell that they knew what they were doing. They were also very careful to lay down cloth runners to protect our flooring and cleaned up to the point of vacuuming our driveway to clean up sawdust. Whenever I had questions they were happy to share and show me what and why they were doing what they were doing. They noticed 2 damaged screens and immediately repaired them. I asked to have a half screen installed in the kitchen window and one was ordered at no cost to us. We had a 3 lite slider put in and were provided a screen that covered all 3 windows. Jake suggested that we might be happier with screens just on the sliders and I agreed. He then contacted the correct persons at Lindus and ordered them, again no cost. They also noticed a sash with a defect and again a new one was immediately ordered. The trim was installed after all the windows were in. They stain and finish the trim in their plant and do the measuring and cutting on site. The result couldn't be better. The woodwork matches very well with what we have in the house and looks terrific. Overall I am very happy with the entire process. The salesman was the only one of all the companies we had out that didn't have an angle. I asked how long the quote was good for and his response was that there wasn't any time limit or other gimmick such as the price was only good till Friday or some such tactic. It was simple, if we wanted to go ahead the price was on the paper. If we didn't then that was up to us. I liked that. Time will tell if the windows are up to snuff, but they work well and look to be of high quality and I am hopeful that they will be worth what we paid.

I knew about Lindus Construction's reputation, plus I have used them before. We ran into them at one of the Home Remodeling shows that are held in a number of locations in the spring. What first caught our eye was the display of Pella windows. After very carefully examining their new triple pane window, we were convinced that this was what we wanted. The Pella rep told us to walk down to the other end of the building and check with one of a few contractors licensed to install Pella if we wanted their best warranty. The contractor was Lindus Construction, which made our day. We called their office on Monday following the show and arranged to have a rep come to our house and give us a quote. Brett arrived on time as arranged. He, gave us an entire house quote and also broke the price down into five groups of windows (we have a lot of windows)! Andy Lindus gave us further discounts based on how many we would be replacing at a time. The two installers arrived early Friday morning, and they worked straight through until 7:30 PM. They had to come back the next week and finish up. We have a house alarm system, and the guys were able to switch over the alarms on the two windows (no charge). The patio door was more of a challenge so I had our alarm company do that one. These guys worked steadily, constantly cleaning up as they went, and did a beautiful "Craftsman" job. They even filled the old holes in the wall where I had mounted some vertical blinds. I had intended to do that myself afterwards, because I need to paint the kitchen anyway. But they insisted, since they had the material in their truck. Again, no extra cost added. We are extremely pleased with the windows/door, and will eventually replace them all. Greg Lindus called the next day to see if everything met our satisfaction. Of course, when we continue to replace more windows, we will absolutely use Lindus Construction. There are so many amateurs and shady companies out there, especially in this economy, that we would have to be insane to go with a different contractor. No one could do the job better. Everyone that we had contact with, in the office and onsite, was wonderful to work with beginning to end.

Midwest Leafguard is also known as Lindus Construction as they have expanded the variety of home construction projects they now perform. They have a 60 minute radio show on WCCO on Saturday mornings. They are a family owned and operated company, Greg and Andy Lindus. After listening to the show for many months, I have called them for advice on a number of home issues that I needed addressed, and even though they didn't happen to provide those services, they put me in touch with a couple of companies that did outstanding work for me. One weekend, they were talking about wood foundations, so I gave them a call and set up an appointment to have them check out my foundation concerns. Greg came out exactly at the time we had arranged and explained how they could solve my problem. The job was delayed one day because of heavy rains, but they showed up the next day. They had to pull the gravel and plastic garden material back and ran 30 feet of grey textured fiberglass sheeting the length of the foundation on the south side of the house. They replaced the garden plastic and landscape gravel, adding some dirt to increase the slope away from the house. The guys had extra material left and asked if I wanted them to continue along the east side for about 15 feet to use up the material, at NO CHARGE!. When they finished the foundation and garden material looked better than new. All during the process, communication between myself and the Lindus office went fabulously. Everybody at this company makes every effort to make sure things go exactly as planned. An old fashioned family business with ethics and a customer is always right attitude. I have since used them for two other major projects .

We ended up not using Lindus because they only offer one style of metal roof, and we didn't think it would look right on our house. After extensive research, we aren't convinced that a gutter cap or guard of any kind will work with the pitch of our roof, which is why we didn't go ahead with leaf guard. I was very impressed with this company and the way we were treated. If they had a product that we wanted, we probably would have hired them, even if they weren't the lowest bid.

I was very pleased. The pricing, workmanship, everything was very good. They worked in the worst conditions (snowstorms) and they did a wonderful job. They were prompt, answered all of my questions, I can't possibly say enough about how pleased I was with this company. They were patient with me, answered all of my questions, pros and cons...I was very, very pleased with the outcome and this company.
