Description of Work: Bill fixed our garbage disposal and our dryer. He didn't charge us for the garbage disposal issue but took the time to show me what was wrong, how to fix it, and then fixed it. Bill is great! | |It is hard to get prompt service because he tends to be booked but his work is so good It's worth the wait.

I left a message on the company voice mail, which says that calls will be returned at the end of the business day (he is an independent guy, no employees, no "office hours") - I received a return call early that evening, at which time he asked me a few questions to establish whether this was something that required a repair guy to fix, or something that we needed to just move or change to make it work. Once we figured out it was a malfunctioning part, we set up an appointment for the next day. This repair was probably covered by the dishwasher warranty, as it is less than a year old. However, the store that sold it does not have a local repair person, so in order to get someone here, we would have to wait more than a week, and then if the repair turned out to not be covered by the warranty, they would give me an estimate, and if I did not have the technician complete the work, I would pay $75 for the service call. I did want to wait this long, nor did I want to deal with "maybe it's covered, maybe it's not, so I decided to just eat the cost and call Residential Expertise because Jeff has done other jobs for us in the past and we have had good experiences consistently. SO, he took the door apart, and it took awhile to figure out what was causing the problem. Because it is a newer model dishwasher, he did not have the part "in stock" on his truck, so he took apart the switch/latch and coaxed it into working, but told me it might not last, so he would order the part in case it didn't keep working. Which was a good thing because about a week later, the same problem happened, and the latch seized up again. I called and left a message, received a call back the same day, scheduling a visit for the following day at noon. Jeff arrived about 20 minutes early, so called me on my cell phone to let me know he was at my house and would wait for me to arrive. When I got home, he got to work, and within 20 minutes, had the new latch installed and working. I probably ended up spending more money than I had to on both labor and the part, since the repair was likely covered by the dishwasher warranty, but I do feel it was worth some of the extra cost just to have the dishwasher working again so quickly. Because he did the temporary fix on the first visit, I also paid quite a bit more in labor than I might have paid if he hadn't had to order the part, but I trust his work, I appreciate his prompt call backs and great attitude. I will hire Jeff again - no question!
Description of Work: Repaired dishwasher latch. This repair actually took two visits because during the first, he temporarily repaired the jammed latch/switch, but told me it might not stay fixed, and that he would order the part just in case. A few days later, the latch failed again, and he came back to replace it with a new one.

He did excellent work, and I was very satisfied. He is knowledgeable about all types of home repair, and is very honest. He was friendly and polite, which is important to me. He also works efficiently, and does not take too long. He responded quickly when I first called him for service. I have also hired him in the past to fix appliances, and I am impressed with his work. I will definitely use him again in the future.
Description of Work: I had him install an electric water heater in a residence. He also did some minor electrical work, such as installing a light socket and doorbell.
