The frame and structure were solid and well done. It was tight house and kept in the heat well and no condensation on windows. But several of the individual jobs ended up not turning out as expected. I spent a lot of time explaining my desires and Tim spent a lot of time listening, From day one the flooring in the house was going to be stained concrete. The concrete for the house was poured in October (when everything was falling from the trees), but they failed to cover it while it was drying. It had numerous pits from leaves, stems and even one spot with a partial leaf embedded in floor. When I pointed the blemishes, his response was that he asked his father if he should put another layer of concrete down, his father said no. He left it with the blemishes. Whose house is this, mine or his father’s?! Also, there were multiple spots throughout the house where there were ripples in the concrete from a buffer machine. I have no idea if that was from him or the stained concrete sub-contractor, but the fact is it looked like water rippling in a few spots. Note, they covered the concrete in the garage as it dried. In the mechanical room where there was all piping for in-floor heating, piping for water, the holding tank, he failed to initially put a drain in that room. I requested he do that after seeing no drain. He then did install one, but it the concrete was not tapered well to the drain to accept a lot of water flow. The outcome of the decorated staining on the concrete was very poor. He knew what my goal was, but never forwarded pictures of what I was hoping to achieve (from a previous project the general contractor had personally done) it to the sub-contractor. Nor did he connect me with the person doing the staining before it was done. Due to his (general contractor), he suggested a semi-gloss verses high-gloss, which I appreciate his input and reasoning why. But he had no idea what the outcome would be. After the job was done and I was unhappy with the outcome, I found the product's website and share the manufacturer's direction to "test in a closet" the desired color and gloss before applying to the whole floor. His response was "I didn't know you could do that". He's used this product himself previously, but obviously hadn't read the product specs in full. When doing the final walk-through in mid-February (WI -- it was COLD), he left his truck running and brought his 2-year old nephew. I felt so rushed to go through the walk through with a vehicle running and a bored 2-year old sitting in an empty house with nothing to do. During the walk through, I found his workers had used a different gloss of paint to "cover" spots left on the wall from the concrete staining. They did come back and repaint those areas, but that should have been done before the walk-through. Those spots were so evident, they just jumped out at you. I paid to have my 8' x 16' shed moved down a hill. After it was set down, it was not fully level. The entrance doors and closet would not come anywhere near being able to close. When I pointed this out, he said I paid him to move it. After heated discussions, he did work to fix the majority of the unevenness. But the entry door still would not close fully that it could be locked/secured. I sold the home just over two years after completion and during the inspections, they found the septic system was missing a baffle. Nobody had been inside since install. I told the plumber and general contractor about this. Neither offered to do anything about it. It cost me $600 to fix. Tim did spend a lot of time in conversations, emails and texts with me to determine selections for things including siding, roofing, cabinets. I thank him for the time he spent. This new construction was the only one they had going over that winter.
