I have had work done by Steve Hardy before so I always call him. He's done work for me two other times, once replacing a rusted out, six year old garbage disposal. I wanted to buy the fixtures myself and he gave me some guidelines to use, which was crucial as I had an odd sized drain. I managed to buy an electric water heater on sale and Steve Hardy picked it up and brought it to my home on the day we scheduled for replacing everything. The old water heater was a nightmare. It wouldn't drain due to the buildup of mineral deposits inside so he had to get a filled, 40 gallon water heater outside, wait for it to cool, and then he had to knock off the spout and use a hammer and spike to punch through the deposits in order to allow the water to drain out. He put in the new water heater and the new fixtures while the old water heater was cooling on the lawn. (I should have gotten a new water heater sooner... He had suggested it the last time he had been here to replace the rusted out garbage disposal.) I was delighted with the results, as usual. This man is the consummate professional. The woman who recommended him to me said that he was quiet and got right to work and did a fine job. He was quiet in that he spoke only about the subject at hand--the plumbing job, what was wrong, what was needed, how he would proceed, what I wanted. However, I am curious (nosy) about how things work so I asked lots of questions. He was very friendly and answered every question and was free with further information. The wonder is he never stopped working while we were talking. He just kept at the job until it was done. He checked to make sure everything worked, cleaned up any mess and we said our good-byes. The bill was sent by mail. I have gone through many plumbers in the 24 years I have lived in this hard water land. I am so thankful I found Steve Hardy.
Description of Work: I had a 12 year old, 40 gallon hot water heater that needed replacing. I also needed to replace all fixtures in my bath/shower and sink. I live in a hard (nuts and bolts) water area and the mineral deposits cause constant damage to the pipes, fixtures, dishwasher, etc.

He can fix whatever needs to be fixed. He doesn’t try to oversell. He is really consumer focused. I had called someone else to fix the toilet and they said that they would have to rip off the ceiling in the kitchen and a lot of other things. When we called Thomas, he told us we didn’t need to do all that. He said that he just had to replace the deck going down to the basement. It was just a matter of hours. He pretty much had all the parts in his truck. So he didn’t have to go anywhere. He did the work with minimal amount of mess. He cleans up after himself. It is difficult to find people like that. Nowadays people come and do the work and you have spend two days cleaning up the mess that they left. I would use him in the future.
Description of Work: I used Thomas N Hardy Plumbing & Heating. I our old house we had some issue with the upstairs toilet. They fixed it. He did a bathroom remodel probably about four years ago. He had replaced a stack line in our house about three years ago in the winter.
