Do not trust the positive reviews. Spencer forces all customers to sign a contract requiring them to give him a positive review. See copy of that contract below. READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE CONTRACT HE ASKS YOU TO SIGN. 1) Should a patio be level? Spencer Main Concrete Poured my patio with a 4.5% grade – see photo 2) Spencer Main Concrete was to put a 12 inch stamped border around my patio per contract – he poured an 8 inch stamped border – see photo of boarder and contract excerpt 3) Spencer Main Concrete left me with a 1.5 inch step between the patio and the existing sidewalk. 4) Quote” PUBLIC REVIEW WITHOUT APPROVAL WILL BE CONSIDERED AS SLANDER/LIBEL/HARASSMENT, VOIDS DISCOUNT AND PENALTY IS 200% THE CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT” -If you give Spencer a bad on-line review he will charge you 200% - for me this additional charge would be $10000 - so, don't trust the positive reviews you see, these reviewers are forced by contract to give Spencer Main Concrete a positive review. 5) Spencer’s contract says he can damage your property and do a bad job and does not accept responsibility. Per his contract, “MIGHT DAMAGE LAWN, LANDSCAPE, UNDERGROUND WIRING/SPRINKLER SYSTEMS, TREE ROOTS, PAVEMENT, CURBING, ETC. SPENCER CONCRETE WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY, NOR BE HELD LIABLE FOR LAWN/LANDSCAPING REPAIR, SUBSOILS, PEELING, SCALING, COLOR/DISCOLORATION, TEXTURE, CRACKING OR IMPERFECTIONS DUE TO CONSTRUCTION, SHRINKAGE, SALT, ACTS OF NATURE, OTHER’S EXCAVATION/CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES

Overall, it was pretty good. Some of the clean up work wasn’t done like cleaning the debris. The steps in the patio are still wobbly. I went to them and was upset. They do great work. They generally finish their job within one day. I’m waiting for them to fix up some of their work like the steps that are wobbly.

They came out gave a fair estimate and explained the process Gives creative ideas too to help with the process The workers were prompt and the job was done very neatly The workers were respectful of my property Besides this service do not hesitate to ask about other projects they can do.

I called during a snow storm explained my drive way was iced and I could not plow it with our mini plow. In fact it was stranded down on the incline. He said no worry he would make it out and help gave me a quote after I described it .This was at 3:02 pm . They came out did an Awesome Job it was done at 5:20 and promised to come back to salt. I advised him he has a new customer to keep this up .

The owner was reliable but one of his employees was most unreliable. I heard, he is no longer employed by spencer concrete

Spencer and his crew did an outstanding job replacing our driveway. The estimating process was very thorough and Spencer was willing to listen to our concerns about pitch for drainage and worked with our plans. It was clear that he was interested in giving us a driveway that we would be happy with. As soon and the crew was onsite there was a flurry of activity, no one was standing around. They very quickly removed the existing driveway,including areas that were much thicker than expected and had large tree roots underneath. The crew worked well together and seemed to enjoy working together. They were all courteous and professional as they worked. The pour of the new driveway went very smoothly, with everything staying on schedule. By the end of that day the drive had been poured, broomed and sealed, and the forms were even taken off. The finished product looks and works great! We enjoyed working with Spencer and his crew and definitely would consider them for future projects. Update after 6 months and 2 years (entered 8-15-15): After the first winter (6 months after installation) we found large cracks through the center of the slab areas extending about half the length of the driveway. Spencer was contacted and asked to inspect the defect, but never came out to look or offer any resolution. After another year (this spring) we noticed large patches of yellow sandy material showing through the surface of the lower half of the driveway. Again, Spencer was contacted and he did not respond to the email or come to inspect even though he was working a block away. We suspect that part of the driveway was poured with bad concrete mix and are now worried about durability. The appearance of most of the driveway is now very bad. No one would believe it is only two years old! We have been especially disappointed in the lack of response and followup with this contractor. It seems he does not stand behind his product.

I didn't end up going with Spencer because my husband wanted me to go with the group that replaced our front porch with a preformed porch last year. I had problems with the porch issue because a cellar was built under the porch so it was a challenge finding someone who could come up with a solution for a crumbling porch.

Apparently he is too busy to respond to requests via his website. I called him several days later and got a verbal quote over the phone . He promised to stop by that evening to finalize the quotation and to answer any questions. Never showed, never called. So long Spencer. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Spencer Concrete was referred to me after I had become frustrated shopping around for other contractors who were overpriced or wouldn't follow up with me after bidding on the job. Spencer was very responsive and professional. He was reasonable and definately concerned with the quality. He was able to do the job ASAP and I'd recommend giving him a call.
